in my opinion Easter is overrated there is no need to be buying 100s of eggs that the children probably won’t eat, it’s all for show on social media.

my toddler is 13 she isn’t a huge lover of chocolate any way and didn’t want much so all she had from me were 3 bars of chocolate (which she asked for)

3 eggs off family , 2 chocolate rabbits and a terry chocolate orange.

even that she won’t eat, I always end up throwing it away because she leaves it in the fridge or cupboard for over a year

I love Easter and have made it a "big deal" for my family e.g cook a big leg of lamb for the day, chocolate for breakfast, walk to the park etc.

Saying that, I feel like it's overated because now it's all about taking pictures of kids with 50 thousand Easter eggs and posting it on social media. Doing egg hunts....to post on social media. Parenting seems like it's all about the parents (mainly mother's) posting online for validation and to stroke the ego.

Don't get me wrong, mine have been little shits today because they're full of chocolate and we've had visitors which is always exciting. But I'm not mad at them, they've been having a nice day and have occasionally forgotten our expectations of their behaviour.
Also, J-Dog is a prat if the football means he can't parent. Mr P has also had the football on but he's also still managed to parent when needed.

We recently had rats in the wall of a house we just moved in to. it's been the worst few months of my life. You should see the damage they've done. They gnawed through bricks and into the cavities. Thought we were over the worst when we located the holes and sealed them up.... until the flies started appearing. One or more must have died in the wall.

Iv been avoiding sm all day, because Easter always seems to turn into the second Christmas, photos with piles of chocolate eggs, hampers, toys, money and all that shite. My kids got 2 eggs each, 1 off me and the other off the mil. And they were more than happy with that. It’s over commercialised bollocks, and all these sm whores love it! There’s nothing this woman does anymore that shocks me!

Mine got an egg and an egg hunt for little eggs. That's all. No presents, no hampers, no visits from a person dressed up as a stupid rabbit. I didn't decorate my table or my house for 'Easter'. I don't buy into all this commercialised crap and nonsense and I really dislike the social media idiots who go to town. It's Easter not Christmas ffs! I haven't avoided sm because actually I don't give a fuck what others do, they are all a sandwich short of a picnic anyway, I've been too busy having a lovely relaxed family day in the beautiful weather we had today I even saw some people on sm saying last week 'what's everyone doing for their Easter tablescape'. My answer would have been 'fuck all'! I behaved though and didn't comment!

Completely beyond me why she has bought those two boys, who are 2 years different in age, the exact same Easter book????

Firstly why not buy books that are age appropriate and suit each child’s interest and secondly having 2 different books doubles the books available for both your children to read.
And if you have a problem with them “not sharing” accept that’s a part of having more than one child and work on that to help your children learn to cope with it.

Im more surprised she didn’t give them a copy of hinch farm each.

I love the chat here but I hate watching her stories because I can't stand that she's never in the moment. Everything, everything is pre-planned, rehearsed, scripted and probably filmed about 10 times. It's such an exhausting, bizarre and just plain sad way to live your life and engage with your children.

I never used Instagram until very recently and don't watch daytime tv, so had no real exposure to Hinch, other than that first book. I only read a few pages and my workmate had to pry it from my hands and hide it as I was going spare at the inane blather, (as opposed to blether), and frankly useless advice, (Ann Russell she ain't).
