I don't think Michael or Dave have jobs, they seem really sheltered and spoiled. With Michael, since he doesn't have a college degree, it would probably be difficult for him to find a white-collar job, but knowing him he probably thinks he's "above" blue-collar jobs and service jobs.I hope Michael has another job. There is no way this is his only gig, unless he is milking his mother and father.
Phooey... Spoiled only goes so far. His parents can't have that much money to throw at kids that do nothing. Michael and Dave's (Michelle) parents are of the age that they either earned it, or inherited it (East coast family??).I don't think Michael or Dave have jobs, they seem really sheltered and spoiled. I actually think he could do a decent job as a presenter for one of the shows at WDW, but then again he probably thinks he "deserves better" than those types of jobs.
I'm hear ya, my friend... I don't think either are "dumb." They may just be SUPER LAZY and selfish (shit, parents with old money).I find myself torn.
Dave has a degree. And...he has/had a decent job from what I remember seeing. Like the kind of job they don't just hand out to morons. And yet, on the videos, he comes across as utterly clueless. I still believe he is smarter than what he portrays. I'm not sure WHY he would want to come across as dumb. Maybe it's his schtick.
There was a video a few weeks back. He is making his over-the-top goofy Dave Kay voices. And he is going into a Mexican establishment. And, he has a conversation with one of the workers in pretty decent Spanish. Better Spanish than I can speak. I know certain words. And I can understand certain words. But, Dave was fully conversational. Yet, he acts like such an idiot, "Where is the bathroom-o?" I am not sure he has ever said anything like that, but that's the kind of ignorance that he approaches his videos with.
Michael may act manic sometimes....but he never acts stupid. Not intentionally, anyway. Now, no degree like Dave...but (other than what we see on a day to day basis) a person may look at him and think he probably has his act together. He at least portrays some sort of measure of intelligence and authority. Also, his history of keeping females off camera...it shows a certain amount of shrewdness. And yet, he asks some of the most non-sensical questions you've ever heard. It doesn't seem like a put-on, either.
I go back and forth with which one is the smart(er) one and which one is the dumb(er) one. I go back and forth about which personalities are legit with them, and which ones are some sort of performance.
Can you imagine working with Dave, thinking he’s sorta lonely but nice and then you find his YouTube channel. YikesThen off camera he's probably just a normal guy working a white collar IT job.
Isn't stupidity unintentional? Otherwise the person is "acting stupid" and that conflict with the truth can either be humorous or pathetic. Michael is rarely intentionally humorous, but his videos often offer a combination of rage and unintended humor content.Michael may act manic sometimes....but he never acts stupid. Norman Bates mom issue seems to be correct. But Jane is no longer raising those men, they are grown-ass men. It's way too late to "raise" them.BTW... Side note - Jane, you are raising two boys that no woman will EVER want. You stink. TERRIBLE MOTHER.
Maybe that's what Jane wants... The relationship is very much "Norman Bates."
I certainly don't consider Michael's shrewdness a good thing. Or admirable.Isn't stupidity unintentional? Some people are very good at scamming money from others. That is a certainly a type of "shrewdness," but it's a shrewdness that has an element of dishonesty. A bank robber might be shrewd, but that's not a good thing. In michael's case, his shrewdness is not an admirable trait. He lies about his personal relationships, his vaccine status, his knowledge of WDW, his living accomodation, etc. Michael publishes snapshots of certain characters several times a week (my favorite is Pontificating Michael), generally speaking Michael's characters are not good people.
Am I really the only one who has met PLENTY of morons with college degrees who are handed jobs they aren’t qualified for?Dave has a degree. And...he has/had a decent job from what I remember seeing. Like the kind of job they don't just hand out to morons.
Nope I'm totally with you. College degrees are definitely not the only measure of ones intelligence. Lots of college graduates are idiots. You can be book smart and street stupid. Book smarts only get you so far. Dave is probably book smart. Mike is neither. I really think he's dumber than Dave. Which is hard because even though I think Dave has some book smarts he's so street stupid that it cancels it out.Am I really the only one who has met PLENTY of morons with college degrees who are handed jobs they aren’t qualified for?
Everyone always seems so surprised that an idiot could get a degree or get a high-paying job, but a degree isn’t necessarily an indicator of intelligence.
Anything beyond vanilla. What is an "unsafe flavor"?
You're making me want to watch his Vegas videos.the smoking room he got at the Four Queens hotel in Vegas, or the issues using a free food credit at Excalibur.
I usually can’t handle Dave’s videos because they’re too slow and boring to even be hate-watchable, but the Vegas and Hawaii ones are another level. Watching his indecisiveness and uncertainty slam into obstacle after obstacle is completely maddening in a trainwrecky, can’t look away sort of way. You're making me want to watch his Vegas videos.
I broke down last night & watched two of his Vegas vlogs. His fly-in to Vegas day/check-in to the Luxor video, was just as exciting as you would expect. He wandered the hotel/casino/"shopping mall" looking for food. At one point he was lost in some random hallway/corner corridor, but I don't think he understood that. He stated how crowded it was in the casino, but everywhere he walked you barely saw 2 people. The video where he checks into the Four Queens, another mind boggler. Why would you not immediately go ask the front desk to change your room if you absolutely can't handle being a smoking room? No, Dave stays the night & complains the next day to get moved. You're making me want to watch his Vegas videos.
