Literally a minute and a half into the video and she's mentioned photos twice (that they took some but the sun was in her eyes so they would re-do them, then that they got lots of lovely photos doing it again). It's a 10th birthday, not the flipping Oscars! Her birthday still will have happened with or without the perfect pics!
Then Darcy telling her Grandad she's blown out the candles "16 times" already, because she had to do it yesterday, this morning...obviously all for photo ops for Louise. She's so SO stuck in this cycle of Instagram-perfect that she can't get out of it (all the while preaching that life isn't Insta perfect and making odd AD videos poking fun at that lifestyle). She's beyond help now.
I really hope Pearl continues to reject this way of life Louise has created for her girls. Poor Darcy has had it pushed on her since literal birth, so she knows she has to act, but I live for the moments she's brutally honest and sarcastic to her Mum! On a more serious note and about kids in general, it really does make you wonder about the minds of kids nowadays, Darcy was so matter of fact about the world ending...not scared of it, just saw that as a very real, possibility. It's sad.
Also, I just don't understand that necklace. I can't think of any occasion a child would need to wear such a valuable necklace. I'm 4 times her age and would be crapping it that I'd lose it! The birthday cake too is not a childs cake yet every year Louise insists on getting an Insta-worthy cake just so it looks good in photos, it's sickening.
