If anyone needs the weight loss jabs it’s her. She says she’s tried every kind of diet and never lost more than a few stone. The whole post was like she was trying to justify not trying another thing that may make her healthier. In my opinion what she lacks is willpower. She can’t persevere with anything least of all her influencer career!

“If you DM me abuse, I will block you” sometimes she just seems a little bit immature. Just block - no need to throw the threat out there!
I’d hope that anyone who wanted to try the jab would properly look into the pros and cons themselves, and as has been said, she’s only posting the negative points.
Body positivity shouldn’t be demonised but by the same token neither should anyone who decides to lose weight. Smacks of hypocrisy a bit.

I've followed her since the Bake off days and I've never seen a hint of her attempting to eat healthy and move her body more. Wanting a child didn't motivate her to even try, she gave up before she even started.

Like everything there are pros and cons to these jabs but her whole stance is that these new jabs are evil without presenting both sides of the argument and that's why people have commented negatively.

The fact she would rather block people than have an honest informative discussion speaks volumes tbh.

She’s so very clearly anti weight loss, no doubt because she has tried and failed herself, and is envious of those who are able to.
it’s obvious from her post, as she focuses on the fact that you put weight back on when you stop taking it and are likely to gain all of the weight back, I’m sorry, but is that not obvious? Of course you have to actually eat healthy and look after your body after the two years, or of course you are going to put weight back on? Is that not common sense? That’s not the injection that has failed, it is the person, for not maintaining a healthy lifestyle and more than likely eating the same foods that made them gain weight in the first instance?
She could focus on the numerous other issues with these injections that are in the slides, but she didn’t.
Just to add incase the post sounds harsh, I’m a large person who has yoyo dieted most of my life, so I understand the struggles of losing weight and gaining it back etc. I suppose I’m just trying to say that of course the injections aren’t a miracle cure, the people who take them of course have to work to keep the weight off, the 90% of people who put the weight back on have overeaten and that’s not the fault of the injection.

Wish she’d get off her ‘weight loss truth’ high horse!

what the hell does she know?!
not many people have read the science behind these jabs which makes me so annoyed. She wouldn’t know a glucagon-like-peptide if it smacked her in the face. So how dare she sit with her ‘truths’.
If a medication (which is what they are) ‘fixes’ what is wrong with your body and is something that will never be cured then of course it’s going to be long term/life long. Many drugs out there are needed everyday for life. Why does that make these so bad?!

When she talks about weight loss truths I’m always interested to know the studies and figures between the weight loss “dangers and effects” and then against the obesity “dangers and effects” does she ever show those stats? She also often links weight loss with DIETS so instead of being anti diet she always just comes across any weight loss as someone said because she doesn’t want to lose weight nobody should

The argument that it will badly affect people with diabetes because it will lead to worldwide shortages of the drug is bull.

It'd be interesting to see how it can prevent people developing diabetes as a side-effect of obesity.

I’m sure that there are lots of drugs out there are used for cross purposes? (I have zero basis for stating that, but I’m sure there are).
I think Laura is in denial about how dangerous it is to be morbidly obese, it’s probably just as dangerous as being diabetic for example). The narrative around the Body Positivity movement has been twisted for so long, going from being positive about all bodies and not shaming anyone to now glorifying being morbidly obese, it’s not ok to be that overweight from a health perspective, no amount of body positivity can change that.
Again, I say this as a large person who was sucked into it before realising it was just a way to justify being large and eating what I wanted. I’m absolutely anti diet culture, but not anti diet and looking after your body.

Viagra is oneof those drugs! Originally intended for hypertension and other cardiac issues, obviously discovered the happy side effect!
Try telling those men that they’ve killed cardiac patients as they’ve ‘stole their drugs’ 🤨

Completely agree 👏🏼

She mentions weight doesn’t equal health a lot but she’s not dumb, she knows she’s not healthy, you can hear her heavy breathing on the podcast and she’s literally just sat there at that moment.

In the recent podcast she said something about if she could take a pill with no side effects to lose weight she would as it’s harder being bigger. (I listened a few days ago so that may not be the exact words but something similar) Does she not realise there are no negative side effects to a healthy diet and moderate exercise? I really don’t understand her.

This will probably sound judgmental because it is…I get the sense that Laura is one of those people who shies away from hard work. She has mentioned that if there was a pill that she could take that would help her lose weight, she would take it. As someone above has said, diet and exercise would do the exact same thing but they would require will power and dedication.

She had the perfect motivation to lose weight; she publicly said that the doctor advised her that losing weight would increase her chances of conceiving. If a person wants something bad enough, they’ll make whatever sacrifices they need to. It would have been a difficult journey , there’s no doubt about that but it would have been worth it if she wanted a child.

Also, a point on her comments regarding weight loss injections; of course they will not be a life long fix. They’re simply there to help reduce large. (I’ll admit, I’m not sure of the science behind them). When a person gets to where they want to be, that’s when the above mentioned hard work and dedication needs to come in. Assuming it’s not a physical medical reason that is preventing someone from losing weight, if they go back to old behaviours/eating habits and don’t consider the mental/emotional reasons behind the overeating , of course, they’ll regain the weight. Again, it suggests to me that hard work and dedication are something that she just doesn’t grasp. I think that she’s trying to put out this idea of “why bother trying if the weight will come back again” to make herself feel better about not doing anything. Perhaps she’s just not mentally ready to start that journey and that’s okay but she really should reign in the anti-weightloss comments.

Exactly this! If a person becomes overweight to the point they can’t physically move their body then I’m all for and aid to help. I think her recent post lacks facts and comes across as scaremongering.

Let people do the research for themselves and make their own decisions.

I know, as I’m currently looking into this myself.
