Trouble is, when you discover even stupid details are false - I mean what difference to the narrative to show a fake receipt @Mkm? it just undermines anything she puts on camera - even if she honeymooned at the Splendido or just ate breakfast & trawled thru the rooms? Fiction is one thing but masquerading your life as a whirl through sunlit fields is banal & empty, all the while begging for funds and conning her patreons. Amazing too that we have never heard her family speak in 2 months except for the sister crying at the reception - sooo embarassing & so rude - does that too make the story more convincing?

I have a weakness for Gothic arches. ;)

renos bore me so much. I could tolerate one chicken coop episode but, thereafter, it was the beginning of the end for me!
I ;like renos but only if there is some useful advice, she gave absolutely nothing, not to mention anyway that kind of renovation is basically irrelevant for almost anyone anyway. A highlight for me was her drilling into that stone with sun glasses as eye protection :ROFLMAO:

It is the second one in a row I did not bother to watch until the end, even though the idea behind it sounded promising and I truly adore Siena. I do not get why Guido has to be included in every video now. He seems like a nice guy to me, but he does not add anything to the videos. The palazzo was beautiful, but that's about it. I felt mostly bored.

@Denise0211 We seem to have posted simultaneously, because you wrote exactly what I was thinking.

Okay, well, I need to take my mind off something this morning, so inspired by Rina's post, I took a look at the video. One of the problems with K. is that she is the queen of the 'sweeping statement'. She needs to give more thought to what she is saying as her words can be too quickly unpacked and found to be superficial. For instance, her sweeping comparisons between old a new: "the religious melodrama in a society that attends mass maybe once a year" and "Ballrooms in an era where ball gowns have been diminished to a polyester imitation' are two examples. I am sure that there are countless devout people in this world whose faith is still of utmost importance to them. Indeed, life pre-Covid would have witnessed many upscale parties and balls where people are carefully and exquisitely dressed. Kylie need look no further than Guido, who, if you consult the list in the following link, partnered Countess Costanza della Gherardesca, who was wearing couture to a ball. https://www.lebal.paris/en/editions/le-bal-2003/ . These events still exist if you move in certain circles and know where to look.

Kylie often rhetorically raises philosophical questions which she does not adequately address.

The theatre is pretty, and Guido makes a few valid comments. On the whole, the Pal. Sergardi is charming enough, though it clearly needs restoration. I would not venture to comment on its historical importance to attract state restoration funding. I imagine it is a lovely project for an individual wealthy and passionate enough to restore the building and its interiors to its former grandeur. The way Kylie waxes lyrical as she walks around the rooms reveals that she maybe hasn't been exposed to truly great art or has not learned to differentiate between great art and competent workmanship. She could have mentioned the name of the artist who decorated the building, Luigi Ademollo (1764-1849)
https://paoloantonacci.com/artists/30-luigi-ademollo/biography/ . Ademollo also has a brief Wiki entry.

Again, as we all know, Kylie likes her love stories, which I guess reflects her life phase.

Her comments about making friends or forming relationships in a historic city are nonsense. It is challenging anywhere.

Her reading from the book, A Soldier at War, with the English subtitles, felt a little clunky and unnecessarily long. This is where she makes parallels with some of her followers. I believe Kylie has a fair amount of elderly fans who have sent her pictures of themselves in their younger days. It is likely that some are military veterans and have shared with her, in letters, stories of their lives in active service.

As you know, I have wondered at times whether we overestimate the extent to which we imagine Kylie cares about our thread. But I also thought that maybe the following excerpt, which she read from A Soldier at War, was pointedly intended for us. Or perhaps it is my own conscience pricking me:

"People are strange … I observe them a great deal as I do with the majority of people with whom I come into contact, and I have the impression that their greatest pleasure is to be able to deride someone, have fun at their expense without considering for a moment the possibility that it hurts him. And then if they do realise, they're happy having achieved this. It's such low and wretched behaviour, totally devoid of sensitivity."

All in all, it is a superficial piece but probably similar to the type of journalism Kylie produced for the Casino magazine that @Antonio has mentioned, or the sort of article you'd find in an in-flight magazine. Lightweight vignettes peppered with rhetorical questions which sound deeper than they really are.

Ok, with all the talk about pilchards, sardines, fish tins and toast/tomatoes, I searched out my local COOP and found some tins of Alici or anchovy. Going to try it with pan and olive oil toast;

Thanks @Jerry gratefully received! I always have tinned anchovies in the cupboard, handy for an emergency pasta meal with garlic, chilli and lemon. I'll add chopped parsley, when gifted from a smitten costermonger.

@emm grazie mille for starting new thread and carrying us along on a 'new adventure'?? Not much else to recap as we had said it all in the 3rd title lol. What a letdown for fans as she had been building up to a mega event rushed off her feet & the result was symbolized in the pimple of a wedding cake atop a sea of cupcakes - 😚
@PlinyinTorquay as you are more of a travelling star than the cinematic Kylie atm why don't you post us a pic of Paris and/or Fragonard or whatever you like? Right off thread and loving it😉

@nostoneunturned. Not sure about vessel in this case=gabinetto?
Btw of limiting content to patrons, knowing how she wants to be a well-known filmaker, drone......etc, I doubt whether 847 patrons would be enough to keep her bloated ego afloat especially after crowing about 200k viewers. Intriguing silence though, no?

So is it indeed Kylie folding and turning into dust in the wind? Like the carnies from the circus who swindled folk with snake oil remedies, got their money and then left town quickly?

Did she perhaps make a pact with Guido not to spend all her time filming and editing if they are on a sort-of honeymoon? An IG pic takes 10 secs to upload, though...

Yes, really! When that person suggested he open a channel and get patreon "because it helps financially"(attached above) I wanted to scream! How much help financially do they need? Seems her parents do alright, at least to me.
@Denise0211 Omg I wanted to as well hearing that too - along with marina-does-life‘s (!!!) “I’m getting the popcorn ready...” for watching the wizened father restore a boat and that she would enjoy watching a vlog of KyLie taking out the rubbish😬 What is wrong with these people?!!! Surely many of these comments are bot generated - although that one is weird enough to be true🙄

We said ages back that KyLie would install the botting parents in the main house or chicken coop etc Guido will never be rid of them and it’s the main reason she wanted the big summer house rather than the flat in his family compound outside Florence. The Freeloading Flavells are there for good🤦🏼‍♂️

@Plinlyn Torquay I can only imagine the sense of loneliness to be exiled (even luxuriously) without your loved one at the most emotional time of the year & somehow being comforted by familiar images & atmosphere that K rustled up. Glad she answered you - I assume you were still a high tier Patreon?
Dear Spirit - I was the third tier from the top, I think about $100 or 80 British pounds per month. I didn't particularly wish to donate £860 per month to somebody I didn't know. I was thinking about the second from the top tier but decided to see what I thought of her work over time before making a commitment. However, I did send her extra money for her postage because, as I said, she struck me, in the few exchanges I had with her as being a bit ditsy at times and I thought the gesture terribly sweet but ill-conceived. :) In a way, I'm fairly chilled about it all. The inability to accept criticism I found galling, especially in my line of work as one thing one is trained to do when writing a PhD thesis and presenting work in the arts and humanities is to be able to accept constructive criticism and to do so gracefully and gratefully in so far as it is the only way one can perfect and improve one's work. Defensiveness was frowned upon. It's hard at first as we're all emotionally invested in our work but it becomes easier with practice. A bit like having all of those PCR tests in Paris one becomes desensitized. 🤣🤣🤣 I completely agree about Nigella. Lovely lady and very bright. I enjoy her writing and presentation style. xoxo

I don't want to see any content from Kylie. To be honest. She should recede into a life of being a member of the family she married in to. Life has its phases. Sometimes, you need to move on.

Once upon a time, I enjoyed her travel videos. Until I noticed everything that everyone else mentions here, and I cannot "un-see" any of it now.

For me, she is now unwatchable.
I’m afraid this is very true @FlyByeNight, once seen and heard it is hard to forget the fakery and pretension...

It would be disingenuous for me to respond to this question with future content ideas as I do not want, in any way, to encourage her to continue along the youtuber, influencer, patreon scammer path. From the outset I found her narcissism unbearable but she was living in Rome at the time and that backdrop appealed to me. I'm not quite sure why I would continue to check in on her every now and again, some kind of morbid curiosity I guess, but in doing so I found this forum, yay, and have enjoyed being a part of the exposé.
So I vote for no future content from KF.

Don't reckon that's on the cards 😂
@Rina Valtellina Kylie’s narcissism and exhibitionism will ruin any subject she tackles as she is seemingly not really interested or passionate about anything except herself...and each subject is always refracted through the lense of her own self-obsession so it becomes extremely boring to watch different vlogs but always the same show-boating and posturing🤦🏼‍♂️

Someone asked how will guido feel about the non-honeymoon being used as video footage, think we all need to accept that guido has bought into the whole Kylie show and is now as guilty and as culpable as her.

If you are not part of the solution you are part of the problem.
Yeah I think him agreeing to the proposal video really indicates he will agree to anything 😂

To those who have known and met Kylie in real life ... would you say she has a good sense of humour? My instinct is, possibly not, as she seems to take herself rather too seriously. Maybe the toilet brush vlog shows humour of sorts!
I don’t think she has the capacity to have a sense of humour; it requires both a wit and a humility, both of which I think she lacks. It also requires an ability to stand outside ones self and I don’t see any evidence she can do that either.

Btw Swindon is a very busy place - I would see him more as Tunbridge Wells. On the topic of towns, @PlinyinTorquay, Kingston must have evolved since I lived there and Bentalls was king -
@Spirit I haven't been to Kingston-on-Thames for ages. I imagine the bondage shop is long gone. I remember that going to the cafe in Bentalls for a banana split back in the day was the height of social splendour! 🤣

So here you have KyLIE’s well considered Theory of Art and Design, all condensed into seven slides, encompassing all history of human visual expression.

It can be summarized by one phrase or admonition, which she may have, unfortunately, heard as a child,

“Stay within the lines !”

@Jerry thank you for this. Did she really produce these slides. All I can say, for the moment is, oh dear!

Lol. Now is in in virtually every video and they're like a Couple's Vlog channel,
Maybe they'll buy matching reindeer sweaters for Christmas. Like Colin Firth in Bridget Jones's Diary! 🤣

@PlinyinTorquay @Denise0211 @emm @Jerry KyLie’s explanation of “classical” art versus “contemporary” art would badly fail a Visual Arts 101 essay 🙄 She has, unfortunately, taken on our comments about not including art/architecture/culture in her vlogs and made an awful mash up of art history and theory which only highlights her ignorance. We all expected something like this and by setting herself up as a kind of “authority” it makes it even more dismal.

Anyway, the discussion of art soon falls away into a strange mish mash of a piano player in an empty palazzo, an awkward “interview”, a lunch, Guido bringing his accountant’s expertise to the cost of renovating the theatre (the energy drained away with his flat estimation of 100k) and her lounging on a sofa reading the Polish soldier’s diary during the war (wearing glasses to make her look more serious and she’s got the heavy filters on after the chicken dinner flog)....All very disjointed and, professionally speaking, not well done at all 🙈

@Alessandro. Thank you so much for this. I will try and bring myself to watch it in due course. I imagine there are the usual flurries of compliments from K's fans.

@Jerry, although my specialist area is 18-C Venetian art, her view from those slides is not very nuanced and ill-considered. One has to appreciate each artwork and style for its own merit and in its own context. For instance, despite my personal preferences, I was dazzled by Damien Hirst's Cherry Blossoms which opened at the Fondation Cartier pour l'art contemporain while I was in Paris.

Enjoyed reading all of these other subjects by everyone in the group other than seeing KyLie swanning about😬 I think @PlinyinTorquay we can go off topic as much as we like😅

What strikes me about K’s first post after weeks is that she has obviously spent most if not all of her honeymoon filming herself (and Guido when necessary).

She didn’t take a break at all - she has roped her luna di miele and her new husband/partner/defacto into a new fantasy of her life.

K is filming herself as if she is Grace Kelly with Cary Grant on the French Riviera in To Catch a Thief🙈😂

I wonder how G feels about his honeymoon being used as the basis for her next vlog? Or is he so infatuated and entrapped it seems normal that your partner spends the whole time shooting it?

As an Italian, Portofino is famed for being incredibly expensive and prententious, as it’s been the old holiday getaway of celebrities because of its beautiful location.

Typical of KyLie to choose there as it is full of the rich and the vacuous🤭I wonder if her call out for places to stay in her IG post got her another freebie to stay at?!

I don’t think I have ever (and that’s working in film and television) seen anyone so enamoured of their own image as much as KyLie🙄

Amazing, indeed, Cathryne; imagine your spouse sending you off in a vintage car so he could film your departure and, then, the rest of the four days, editing, googling classic movies and operating a drone.

Oh, and by the way, you are not married, it was a fake.

1626298835100.png

Look again, Pauline; it WAS a classic movie, a BUNCH of classic movies tied together.

It really wasn’t a honeymoon, because there never was a wedding, only a garden party posed as one.

1626298758578.png

You see, Josafina, this is a job. She convinces the hotel that she’s an influencer in order to shake them down for four nights stay for her and her potato man. First, though, she convinces people like you to send her money for a phoney marriage.

You don’t have to congratulate her for taking your money.
