Not irrational. Both Shelley and her daughter are an irritating combination of boring, smug and, yes, twee.
Weeks of talking about what to wear for her Fiftieth and she ends up in a frock that looks like itās from the 70% off section on Matalan

Anyone who know about clothes, would look at the material used to make that dress and realise itās cost to produce will have been in the tens of Ā£ to sell it full price at Ā£1200 is just greed. The design is very Matalan c. 2004

On the other hand, I suspect this isnāt how Kat imagined spending her 50th, because I really donāt think her family life is what it once was/ hoped it would be at 50.

Hideous woman. Hideous dress. She looks dead behind the eyes. The party looks like a marketing soirƩe .
Also every time I go on Instagram thereās a women 30+ earnestly explaining clothing proportions/ what boots to wear with jeans etc. All look broadly āfineā some even look āniceā, none would particularly stand out in a crowd as well dressed.
Having phone, ring light and clothes which you are able to dress appropriately in does not make you an expert.
