It sounds to me like others are now intervening concerning her welfare. First we had the impromptu police welfare visit, complete silence with 2 weekends away, Twitter deactivation, ‘OH’ disappearing. Something else is happening behind the scenes.

"Morning boys!" I wandered over to the Women's Institute tent opposite ours, swigging half a bladder of non-alcoholic fizzy tea I'd made from thrice boiled beetroot water, an ASDA Smart Price tea bag and some flat yellow lemonade I found in a bottle just outside my canvas flaps this morning. "Can I tempt you to a lecture on how the price of jam has gone up by 4p since 1998? I'll be giving it on the Leftfield stage right after I've sung a duet with Billy Bragg on what it's like being a Socialist with no real principles whatsoever". They eyed it suspiciously. "No thank you" said Valerie, 67, who'd brought her award winning cocaine shortbread to show. "I'm off to get twatted with Lizzo". I took off my stab vest and the lights went out.
Chap bleeping eau

As someone who runs her life on twitter I imagine when she deactivates she can't get to a lot of information she needs in tweets and messages. She's playing a dangerous game keep twatting about doing it as she may lose them all in her next strop of two hours

So she got the puppy yesterday and has abandoned it today to go to Glastonbury. Good timing Jack. Poor dog.
Poor bewildered puppy not even had the chance to settle before she fucks off. Hateful.

Just one small flaw in her pov mark two plan. She's bleeping loaded. I think the not paying rent is just because she's so chaotic. Not filing tax returns same

I don't think she would get away with it time. She's said that she pays 1.5k a month in rent. Not poor. Bought a dog. Not poor. Mini breaks. Not poor.

Book 8 in the pipeline. Not poor. She shouldn't be asking people to pay for her just because she's unstable. She can ask her landlord dad instead
The only way she pays £1500 for that house is if someone else is paying the other half! no way is the crappy bungalow in "Summer Bay" only getting £1500 month rent.

I wonder if jack will put herself forward to becoming a lord? Like Martin Lewis did, but was rejected apparently for not having enough time. Jack won't be rejected on those grounds.

Everytime you search in twitter there's someone that's just suggested that Jack Monroe and Martin Lewis should run the country 🤪

Looks like so many new names liking posts now. Please say hello and tell us what brought you here.
Hello! I've been here since lockdown 2020 and have posted a couple of times but mainly lurk.

I became aware of Jack when she first came to prominence and while I wouldn't say I was a fan, I thought she was doing some really good work and campaigned on some important issues but never paid too much attention to her beyond that.

I first twigged something wasn't right when she wrote that article in the Guardian about her son's father. I'd always assumed she'd been a single mum without support and it simply didn't add up that she'd actually had fantastic support, yet her and her son had been so destitute.

Then I saw the That Man meltdown and started looking here a bit. And then became a more avid reader during thekitten episode and i couldn't believe the support she was getting from the squigs.

I grew up WC in a house where money was tight. Space was tight and we were lacking some essentials like proper heating. I wouldn't ever say it was poverty - we never went without food, but y'know, it was difficult at times.

That article about the son's dad sent alarm bells off as it was so disconnected from what i had witnessed. Over time my parents were the more 'secure' ones of the wider family- they both worked and didn't have health issues. Over the years they've helped cover rent and given money towards bills when they could, given my aunties some of my own xmas presents so their own kids would have something to open. They once found out my nan had been not eating because her money had been stopped and was too proud to say. They did what anyone would surely do - done her a shop, gave her a bit of cash they could spare and gave the benefits office hell until it was sorted (talking 30 years ago, my mum refused to leave the building till the issue was fixed.)

In my experience, families and communities rally round - even when there's not a lot go round you pull each other up as best you can. There's no way any decent person would let their child or grandson live in squalor if there was a way to stop it. They're either awful people or it's bollocks.

Shes an adult though and unless she's a real risk to herself or others she won't be sectioned. She can't be forced to accept treatment unless she is sectioned. Not that I'm trying to suggest you think she will be

Quite plainly as far as I'm concerned the people responsible for much of this are her parents

They know she's a liar. They know she's been lying since the minute she's been in the public eye and nothing

They aren't to blame for every single thing she says and does, of course not but they've sat and watched her going off the rails and taking money from people based on a heap of lies.

Plus. She's been to rehab and come out worse. What treatment is going to work for her? We are talking about someone who is very mentally unstable and a compulsive liar who won't take responsibility for anything she does.

And if she has to go into rehab again that dog must be rehomed.

Loads of people have enabled this tit show. Employers. Former partners. Her agent. People who offer her work knowing what a mess she is

She also can't be forced to deactivate her twitter that will have been her choice. Police welfare visits really don't mean much. Its a case of two officers turning up at your door asking how you are. They matter when someone is in crisis.

hello, I’m new here. Have been reading these threads for the past few days.

I always had an off feeling about JM and found her hyperbole bleeping insufferable, but I didn’t know that much about her tbh.

So I read the wiki…

😱😱😱😱

you are all very very funny. I’m convinced at least a couple of you are professional writers or in the entertainment industry.

She's not speaking till Sunday and the trains are on strike today so she's not necessarily travelling today if she goes

I'm going to buy a euromillions ticket. If I win I'll be commissioning a piece of investigative journalism on Jack Monroe. Maybe a joint piece from Private eye (so they'll do a good job) and the Guardian (so the squigs will read it)... I don't even know if that's how journalism works but if I win £100m I don't suppose it matters...

She won't miss anything tbf. As soon as you reactivate everything comes back within hours. She runs the soap opera of her life on twitter and I suspect the bampots that offer her work do so via email

Spoiler the threats Jack gets also referring to miscarriage There was a bit of discussion a couple of threads ago regarding the worst threats Jack said she got. The really graphic ones. Just posting to say given the miscarriage posts the other night I do not believe her. I think we are dealing with someone who is much more of a compulsive liar than some of us think she was.

Ah I can’t get on board with this - as you say, she’s an adult and nobody can force her to do anything - she has mental capacity to make her own decisions even though she’s an absolute head.

Her parents must be in a really awful position. Their choice is effectively to keep their adult daughter in their lives to try and provide at least a bit of stability for her (and I’m very sure they’re thinking about SB too), or cut her off and let her completely fall apart, with all the negative implications that would have for SB.

She doesn’t really have anyone else solid in her life long-term because of how tit she is to people, so her parents are pretty much the only people who can’t walk away from her.

To my knowledge her parents aren’t awful people. I do feel sorry for them having Jack as a daughter, and presumably having to make difficult decisions about what to do with regard to her. Tbh I don’t think there’s much my kids could do that would make me cut them off, or put them in a position where their public crumbling was inevitable. I’d tell them off for stuff, but if they were adults I couldn’t actually do anything to change it. I think it’s not as straightforward to write her parents off as enablers. They’re almost certainly doing what they think is the least worst thing for their family.

Jack knows she is a liar, Jack knows all the grifting and terrible bullshitting she does, and Jack is the only one who can stop Jack from doing any of it.

One of my siblings is tit in a different but not completely unrelated way to Jack, and although I choose not to talk to that sibling any more, my parents still do and still have them round because, well, they’re their kid and you can’t help but love and try for your kid even if you know they’re being tit. I see my parents’ side of things even though I chose something different. Sibling isn’t going to change for the better, and would cut off access to my nieces and nephew if anyone tried to force a change. Families are weird and difficult, and though my sibling doesn’t make a career out of publicising their crappy life choices, I can definitely sympathise with the choices Jack’s family members have to make about her. It can’t be easy.

This exchange made me laugh.

Yet now the poor thing has to add dog food, dog treats, poop bags, flea treatment, wormer, dog shampoo, extra laundry detergent (dogs are messy), into her shopping.
Plus doing the equivalent of walking to Asda and back at least three times a day running round after a puppy. That will be exhausting 😂

It's a good thing the Teemill shop is still running......who knows how many items have been sold since that one time donation back at the start of the year!

I've been lurking for a while too. Can't remember when I first became aware of her, but I think I was like a lot of squigs in thinking her story was inspiring. I have a pretty good bullshit detector though and pretty quickly realised it didn't stack up. The more of her tit I read the more repulsed I am.

Gordon: duck off Jamie, we haven’t finished the last one
