I did Sunday dinner for 10 (and two small children who just ate the potatoes so not sure that counts) today. I will now do a 20 tweet thread about how exhausted I am, how much I
begrudge doing it and beg with my tip jar.
Well obviously I won't because they were my husband, children and grandchildren and it was a pleasure to have them all under one roof.
I certainly didn't go and wash up every 10 minutes to escape them all.
She just loves doing the martyr stuff for clout doesn't she?

I will never eat anything described as a 'smoosh'. It's disrespectful of my body and my soul.

Would like to point out, as a genuine Irish frau, that we can and do routinely feed 80 people with about as much hoo ha as making beans on toast for one
It was quite regular for us to have to use the dining room and the kitchen for Sunday dinners, with a “childrens table” in the lounge. No fuss, just family together!

Thread title nomination: eternal grunk of the slopless mind

one of the shy fraus said it earlier and I’m still hooting and fizzing. Don’t think it’s been done before I Googled but may be wrong…!!

I'm wondering what will be rinsed and re-fried, with added fridge funk, for breakfast tomorrow. Making me feel a bit queasy.

Mash Direct do a carrot and parsnip version (can't get it round here any more). I lovingly referred to it as Carrot Smoosh!
Are we breaking up...waaahh! 😭

Can do a five courser for the OH fam but couldn’t even do some roasties for Xmas dinner with SB and the ‘bubble buddy’
I am absolutely convinced that roasties were LJC's favourite part of a roast and when the Xmas present wasn't up to scratch that was her "punishment"... obviously sheer speculation m'lud

Smoosh?! 🤢 I hate it when she tries to be cute or quirky!
I have an Irish mammy who used to do Boxing Day every year for my dad’s side of the family. It wasn’t the chaotic scene that Jack describes!
My Mum was a proper Irish Mammy and there was 6 in my family, cooking for 10 was a regular thing, usually involving an oven full of sausages and the chip pan!

Funny how her OH and their relatives get smoosh and the poors get mixed beans with stewing steak.

Horrible inverted snob.

She just hates cooking, I think, that’s why it’s stressful for her. Also, drama.

Our dinner tonight is

Roast pork (including crackling)
Roast potatoes
Stuffing
Buttered cabbage
Honey and thyme glazed carrots
Apple sauce
Gravy

I’ve also pottered in the garden, done a load of washing, discussed upcoming exams with my daughter, helped OH (sorry) plank some wood, had my parents pop in for coffee and titted about on the internet.

The cooking part of the day was nice and restful, because it’s all repeated and familiar processes and quite a mindful thing. Not a stress. She just hates it and isn’t good at it and makes everything a huge performance instead of getting on with it.
I honestly can't understand why Jack keeps returning to this cooking shtick, especially given all the emphasis recently on how the original dream was to be a political pundit? Because there is zero enjoyment or skill to share, just performative martyrdom. Cooking is my happy place, I wish Jack would duck right off out of it, can't she just go and compare exercise books with Andrew Marr? (Am also devastated that Nigella has just handed out an endorsement to Janey Godley, if anyone else needs soothing and comforting today I recommend Trifle Defender's awesome lunch pictures, am in awe of her meticulous fennel chopping)

As long as you never ask me to eat 'smoosh' we shall get along famously.

Out of curiosity I decided to find out if a smoosh was actually a food thing, it isn’t. I did however discover it’s the name of a chain of ice cream sandwich shops in America. It also used to be the name of a band consisting of two young sisters, but after an episode of South Park which spoofed Jersey shore and had Snooki repeatedly using the term the band changed its name to Chaos Chaos after a kind of amoeba. a

Just how does someone shoot a book?
Sorry if it's been asked, I've not caught up yet and I'm baffled. 😭 Send enlightenmentos

I’m sorry Janey has been very ill but she’s a horrible troll on twitter and she has major issues and of course Jack loves her
