I think the replying to that and saying don't tag me is just her indirectly setting her followers onto them.
Completely agree! She relishes in the fact that she has so many followers who will fight her imaginary battles.

to be fair she made sure not to @ her in the tweet itself, judging by the profile pic she’s an older woman who probably didn’t realise Jack would be tagged in the response. So awkward though!
Um, no, she did.

Eh, I think what Jack did to Jamie was ultra crappy & nasty. I think she’s a compulsive fantasist who plays the brave little martyr to her horde of disciples, who all lap it up while dreaming of finding a way to cash in on poverty porn like Jack has.

But is she sinking this ~wonderful~ BBC show single-handed? Noooo, because IT’S ALL SHITE. Tebbutt has a thin scraping of charisma - he’s always been the bootstrap James Martin & he knows it. If he loathes a guest on his show and can’t man up / pro up enough to conceal it, that doesn’t make him a hero, it makes him every bit as much of a snide little unprofessional witch. Shivi isn’t working magic on her inserts, they’re just as mundane & self-focused as the Jack bits.

In the end, the direct-matey cookery show in one small room works great for people with oodles of charisma - Jamie, Nadiya, Mary Berry, even James Martin (not a fan but I accept he does his thing well). Matt Tebbutt does not have what it takes to pull the same thing off, nor have ANY of his guests so far. Pinning the whole hot mess on Jack Monroe just looks a bit desperate. The whole thing needs to go in the bin. Run Keith Floyd repeats instead! Enough joy of cooking and joie de vivre to get most people through the current fun times.

I think the tweeter replied to another tweet and it added in Jack, she didn't go out of her way to @ Jack so quite likely didn't know it would go into Jacks feed.

In fairness I think you’re running a different Twitter app, on iPhone it doesn’t look like that. So if I go to reply to the original tweet I don’t see that Jack was tagged unless I click to expand, she’s grouped into “and 2 others”:

Everyone on the original tweet gets bunched together, she tagged individuals she was pleasant about but never tagged Jack herself from the comment. The tweet floss sent looks like this on iPhone without all the leading tags:

edit: and you can see floss is using Twitter for iPhone, I do suspect it’s a genuine mistake.

BIB - from what I've heard, the pub his parents ran was frequented by a lot of BBC producer/exec types, and that's how he got his break in telly. I don't know how much of this is true, mind - this is all just stuff I've heard.
No he was filmed by chance while working at river cafe and offered a show because of that

I think when he says terrible he is talking about the sound quality, at that point it was the worst it could be, I couldn’t understand a word of what she says.

Presenting TV and radio is harder than some people make it look, you know when they replace a regular radio presenter with a stand in and it sounds awful, it makes you realise how hard a job it is.

In my job I have to give presentations, we don’t do it for real until we have practised it over and over again, with critical feedback. Literally we are watched and will be told if we have an odd way of standing or say ‘so’ a lot. We also film our selves and watch it back.

If I was about to go live on BBC and had a script and a tv executive in the house...I know what I would be doing this afternoon, (not shopping for lemons.)
Practice doesn’t make perfect, it makes permanent, how you practice something is how you will do it in real life. The problems aren’t all technical she is clearly underprepared.

Thing is even if he knew producers etc from his parents Pubhe still did his dues at the River Cafe as a trainee. Also I remember when he first came on TV - there wasn’t much that was similar - aimed at people in their twenties who wanted more casual eating. He might have got one series through nepotism- but it’s too expensive to have over ten plus series. Finally there’s loads of competition for this sort of work - he simply wouldn’t have lasted if he didn’t deliver on ratings/ time/ advertising etc.

Exactly, in live TV or radio you have to think on your feet and so much "brain power" will be used up just trying to understand her. She's supposed to be a co presenter but her setup and internet is awful so it reflects badly on his ability.

I keep saying it but the fact her webcam isn't even widescreen shows how ancient it is. Can't someone just buy jack a £79 facebook portal and the sound and video quality will be infinitely better.

Absolutely - I'm not doubting his talent for a minute (though I personally am not a big fan of the man). He is very good at what he does, and I don't think anyone here, not least myself, is doubting that. I was merely repeating something I'd heard.

I’d rather buy some gin for Matt tbh 😂

I’m still working in the office but have caught up on all this on my lunch! I honestly can’t wait to watch it when I go home 😂

she is just awful. Full of excuses. Stories left right and centre. Getting caught now in her own tangled web.

Sometimes people have to be happy with what's them. She has had success in her books her quirkiness suits the pages and people can put them down closed if it's not them for them. To be on TV you need to be likeable. Relatable. Multiskilled. Comfortable in your skin and confident in your abilities.

None of which Jack is portrays on tv or from hiding behind her Twitter account.
Totally agree! And I don’t think you can become “more relatable”, you either are or you aren’t. And as someone growing up with little money in our house, I don’t find her relatable

Is anyone else reading this as realllllly passive aggressive from Jack?!
Ugh she is such a dick head, treated her to a real lemon? My god, the passive aggressiveness is not cute, Jack give it a bloody rest, you're like a broken bleeping record

I can tell you one thing, JM is reporting any fairly innocuous tweets so they are deleted from public view! That’s why it all looks so positive
