That was quite a grunk! I’m glad we are getting content for the 2022 sloppies already!

I suspect Jack's picked up a lot of her notions from American TV shows. They tend to show things like therapy and recovery in a very over the top way. Her whole language and behaviour around the subject is off somehow.
O/T: Looking at YOU Pose Season 3. On topic: Jack is a poser.

Cat follows human to warm bed in northern hemisphere winter. Another groundbreaking moment from Jack. She was hoping for responses including references to guardian angels, support animal, "they always know when the light has gone from your eyes"

"How to completely trivialise addiction" - by Jack Monroe.

I don't believe her tales about alcoholism at all. She's a dangerous idiot .

The Bristol Sports Foundation seems like an interesting beast. I can't be bothered to look into it in great detail, but I'm not sure what qualifies them to teach kids about cooking and nutrition.
Depressing that Bristol Council chose to spend the money there instead of just giving the cash to families to feed themselves.

Lol @ the idea of cracking addiction in two weeks.
TBF, this is double the time she cracked it at the start of 2019. Still can't believe the Guardian saw fit to publish a piece in which she said: "It hasn’t been easy. At the time of writing this, I have been sober for exactly a week. The change has been remarkable."

I can believe that Jack has issues with alcohol.

But I can also believe that they're exaggerated to garner sympathy.

I can believe that she sometimes drinks too much and acts like an even bigger arsehole than she actually is. And... that's probably where my belief ends.

I never understood how Jack gets accredited with being a campaigner, activist, charity supporter etc. It would be interesting to know how much money she has actively donated/raised/contributed to a charity.
PS, I know how much really, apart from the labeled tins.

Maybe, although I think that doing that comes under "having a problem with alcohol".

Maybe, but in that case the vast majority of people have a problem with alcohol. Which may be correct (my view is skewed by where I live, I mean I don't want to pander to stereotypes but ... aye )

OK, so here we go - the sobriety timeline.

January 2016: Jack does Dry January...and her accounts! Truly a different era.

February 2016. Dry January is over, time to celebrate.

August 2016. Jack goes sober.

...but not for long.

September 2016: Jack limits herself to one drink a day.

It doesn't last, either.

October 2016: Jack has a drinking problem!

December 2016: Gin o'clock

March 2017: Jack is off the booze for Lent. Notice that last October's sobriety has been downgraded from recovering from alcoholism to just Sober October.

7 days later. Lent is not over, sobriety is.

April 2017. Jack goes sober again, this time for longer, and celebrates with sexy kumquat pics.

October 2017. She's starting again.

December 2017. No she isn't!

Then nothing until January 2019 and the infamous Guardian column:

Had to share this, I think it may be the least appetising thing she's ever cooked.

This is all truly shocking, but the most appalling bit is the thought of Jack as a houseguest dipping a grimy finger into someone else's face cream. That is not a question of taste, it's basic decency (more accurately, the lack of it).
