This is often prescribed for both anxiety (at lower doses 25mg to 50mg) and depression (at higher doses -up to 200mg).

If Jack was prescribed this as an A-A drug rather than a typical one (such as benzodiazepines) and she was presenting with symptoms that were more indicative of depression than anxiety then this is why the GP may have increased her dose.

Once again, crumb-dropping and giving the impression that insufficient treatment was given.

This is just my thought though.
Thanks ITT, that could well be the case but I think she deliberately worded it for maximum impact “I don’t think my anti anxiety medication is quite right for me seeing as I’ve backslid into paralysing chronic depression”. That, to me, implies she’s on something like Propranolol because if it is Sertraline she’s on and has “backslid into depression” then it would have been prescribed for both.

She is very, very clever with words and she loves it

Granted a Greek Chorus (she should appreciate that allusion) in the wings commenting on what you chose to put into the public domain might grate a little, especially if it is not all gushing praise and pats on the head, but hateful abuse? Nah. She should ask her chum Marcus quite what online hateful abuse looks like.
Marcus or Rosie Jones after her appearance on Question Time. The knobends had a field day.

That’s your ableist wankers right there. I haven’t seen anything similar towards JM.

You are definitely right about the wording and it means there is so much doubt regarding the medication and I hate myself for thinking about it in this way.

Every tweet recently has left a nasty, bitter taste in the mouth.

"Best-ever Chilli"...? I'll be the judge of that...

(Except I won't, because there's no chance of me ever making that ..)

Do not hate yourself! I don’t think she knows what the truth is herself tbh and what you described could easy be the case but wasn’t dramatic enough for the Tweetathon

I think the tweet about “having the Samaritans on speed dial” is in particular bad taste. I’ve phoned them before and I’ve emailed them before too. But if I was someone who’d maybe held back contacting them, if you see someone in the public eye quipping about phoning them all the time, you may think “they’re too busy to deal with me”.

What’s the bets she’ll stay off Twitter today whilst getting excited at who’s noticed she’s not there and is worried enough to pop a couple of quid in the top jar

I hope for one someone had ripped the internet router out, gave her a few home truths and started getting her organised to getting the help she needs.

That would be the best thing. I think though she will have done what she could to prevent friends and family from seeing it (blocked them from that account/hidden the tweets) or maybe they’ve seen this kind of thing play out so many times and help has been rejected.

I think it’s no coincidence in timing, with the Brexit Tin Thief going on holiday. I really hope SB isn’t with her this weekend.

I can never make up my mind about Jack and words - there are times when she seems genuinely quite stupid, but then other times there's definitely a conscious control about what is written and what people will read. (I noticed by the way that she didn't say 'the school run' at the start of the week was to pick up the not Small Boy, possibly significant in the context of the blended family holidays?) (& possibly also significant re: "trolling", "CPS").

Why would you take anti-anxiety medication for depression?

“Experience tells me talking about this stuff on Twitter won’t end well for me but Christ, I’m a Grade A attention seeker”
These types of tweets are so meaningless. It's impossible to know if care was adequate or not, because no one but her and her GP know the backstory, her medical history, what other medication she might be on, what allergies she might have, what may have worked before, etc. I find it's never helpful to discuss particular health issues and medication with anyone but health professionals. Lots of people have well-meaning advice, but often you don't even know yourself WHY you may have been given tablets X over Y or at what dose. So they may/may not have worked for you, but that doesn't mean it wouldn't work for someone else.

She's of course insinuating suicide/self harm here. In my personal experience, if you'd state that, you wouldn't get sent away, but I appreciate that this may not be true everywhere. It's a very tricky issue, because this is of course very serious, which is why it's also used as a weapon by narcs.

Remember this is a person who claimed she'd had three myocardial infarctions (which is what a 'heart attack' is).

She has a certain level of intelligence - a con artist needs it. She's sly and knows how to play on weakness (either her own or others)

I think a lot of her stupidity is down to being just far too lazy and self centred to learn, hence why most of her 'activism' is purely surface level howling and clawing. She can't be bothered to expand her worldview beyond 'I, Jack Monroe'

Well she did duck all for international Lesbian day on the 8th

Was the Burberry scarf pictured here found in a puddle in 2020?
She actually has 3 (was sad enough to go on Insta to count once) and in fairness this is the cheaper summer scarf that unfortunately looks like it’s sold by one of those tourist shops round Leicester Square 🤮. Timeline wise once LJC was on the scene she treated herself to two cashmere ones.

This is why outside of scamming vulnerable people I don’t actually care about Jack’s relative financial privileges weirdly? You could gift her £100k and come back 6 months later and she’d not have a penny left of it nor anything to show for it. She’s been given so many golden gooses of opportunities and not only squandered them through being thick but then & rinsed the proceeds to boot, so she’s not even a good scammer, she is just a personal finance sleep paralysis demon.

She could have picked up on the fact that people with chronic conditions basically had their care stopped during the pandemic so an already stretched NHS could deal with Covid. A family member of mine was basically left to collect their repeat prescriptions and all appointments with specialists cancelled for almost 16 months.
She only gives a shiny tit when things involve her directly. That's not activism love. Apologies for the ranting, dear Fraus but she's really been ripping my knitting the last week. ❤

Sorry, going to put this behind a spoiler because I'm talking about suicide.

I actually think it's no coincidence that Jack's thread came the day after the inquest into the death of a young mum from Lancashire, which was widely reported in the press. She apparently had to wait 17 days for a face to face appointment, and before that date came, she took her own life. It's a horribly tragic case and only a monster would attempt to appropriate it for clicks and cash.
Edit - to clarify, she was able to see her GP who recommended her to a mental health crisis team, and it was while waiting for an appointment with the latter that she committed suicide.

Morning!

In my search to not find an article she was in this weekend, I happened upon this (for some reason the picture of Jack sucking on a peanut butter spoon has disappeared- maybe that is for the best).

Not sure we knew she loved peanut butter so much but hey ho!

Interestingly, although the recipe is from 2014, the publication is from Spring of this year and Dr Dr Marcus is it’s cover star.
