She’s costed in 2kg of potatoes, and then only cooked 1kg of them, which is about one potato per person if she’s feeding six. We eat AT LEAST four each.
ONE POTATO EACH there'd be actual murder

🤪 confused dot com if you have had dried mushrooms hanging around for two years, you clearly very rarely if ever, use them. So wtf are you drying a gazillion more??? This is a classic example of wasting money, better spent on quality food for Sb
Xmas gifts for others never to touch?

Come on canal, she’s posted the knitting in front of a bit of wallpaper work jotter for us to triangulate and she’ll be back in a bit Grunkaing to see what we said about it. She even left the “Caroline” peeky minking out for us.

Edit-this head as per 🥕

Why is she measuring the lard in teaspoons, surely you would just cut a bit off and weigh it
Her lard is softy soft. Or shite and white, depending what class she is NOW

Ffs. Lard??? Why the duck lard, why the duck boiled onions, why the duck tinned mandarins????!!!

Im really sorry, she is taking the piss out of us, and angry or person who actually makes that.

Why not slow cook your onions in oil and a small amount of butter (for flavour) until they're caramelised and delicious. Most people don't buy lard, so offset the price of buying it against a block of butter.

Jack, a pack of butter is about £1.48, just buy a bloody pack, come on its Christmas
but but but...noooo, butter IS included, she mentiones ASDA butter...but I am not sure where to obtain this specialised butter.

I am on a mini Grunka, 9 pages behind, so Frauen have probably spotted and commented on this already.

Bloody hell, that article, every sentence a winner, but not in a good way.

Thoughts. Why all the unnecessary origin story guff? I’ve never read a cook/chef go on about their life story so much. Tell me about the charity you’re working with, what they do, where to donate and then tell me the recipes. No-one needs to know you were once “diagnosed as gifted” at school or you all shared one prawn between you because poor.

So. Much. Lard. What is the point of suggesting a vegan option when the vegan guests can eat duck all else with it because you’ve cooked it all in lard? Lard is disgusting. Even if you’re on a budget, buy a bottle of sunflower oil.

Prawn cocktail recipe. Get prawns, open jar of sauce. Mix. Great recipe, Jack.

Christmas dinner is hard
Let's cover it with lard
Del Monte tins another essential
Cremating the meal is fundamental
Feasting together after watching QE2
This meal is too bad to be true 🤢

Was thinking about those recipes and am puzzled on how she peels the potatoes. I use a potato peeler, is Jack meaning for us plebs to use a knife?
Also a nail brush, use it on yourself Jack!

Does anyone do a starter for Xmas dinner?

We never have and it always seemed a middle class thing to me.

Even now I'm in my 50s I don't do a starter.....I prefer to keep room for roast potatoes and turkey.

My husband's family.....very middle class always have a starter. ....and do less roast potatoes. I know which I prefer 😁

......and I also know where Jack fits in ....she's middle class dahling.
We always have our prawn cocktail before Christmas dinner - my grandad insisted and worked in the coal mines so he definitely wasn't middle class! However he would have revolted if he didn't get his big Yorkshire pudding with his dinner as well, and apparently Yorkies with xmas dinner are controversial?? So who knows where our family fits! 😂

Have you seen the Bottom Christmas special? I was looking for a clip but I can't find the bit I was after where Richie insists they just have 1 roast potato each. The whole dinner does resemble JM's though (anyone who hasn't seen it watch it - sooo good)

Newspaper purchase Fraus und Herr; was there any del monte advertising elsewhere in the paper? Did they take out a full page ad further into the edition? Would you mind paper-grunking and letting us know?
