For those not familiar with the Donner fiasco, 1840's wagon train heading to California. Got to the Sierra Nevada mountains and one group decided to let winter pass before attempting to cross the mountains. A smaller group, the Donners and a few other families totalling 87 people, said we heard of a easy way through the mountains and we're going now because that sweet CA gold is calling our names. The Donner party heads out, gets caught in a bad winter. 45 survive by eating each other. There were a lot of orphans as a result of Cannibal Camp.

For her whole life, she's been able to bully, abuse, cajole, wheedle, and tantrum her way into getting what she wants. No matter what the consequences (losing contact with her father, losing her agent), there was always Ioan to keep her living in the style to which she'd become accustomed.
Now he's gone too. Attorneys are going to tell her what she's supposed to do, not what she wants to do. Family court is going to hold her accountable. There's no one left who can make things the way she wants them. She's up a creek without a paddle.

There is a major difference though. Betty was physically violent. She drove through Dan's front door, broke into their house and vandalised, etc. All this preceded murder. Alice isn't there (yet) thank goodness.
One would hope it never escalates to that level, but she has shown a lot of attitudinal similarities. Unfortunately.
