It was the moment I was sweeping up yet more soil and suddenly swept up a poo with it that I realised I was in trouble. The poor Yucca started off with three trunks .

omg why do we put up with this (literal) tit from our feline housemates? My cat has taken a liking to my spider plants recently. I didn’t realise before but apparently they have a slightly hallucinogenic effect on cats. He keeps running around with eyes like saucers

Apparently it’s a similar effect to catnip for some cats! There was me wondering why he’d developed a liking to it

What is everyone's plan for 2023?

I want to slim down my non-alocasia collection and expand my alocasias. For some reason I get on with them.

My next plant purchase is likely to be an Alocasia Zebrina.

I also want to gradually swap my pots for self watering. I like my pots to be mixed so just going to keep an eye out for sales and stuff on market place.

I bought myself a coconut palm today! It was only £10 in Morrisons! I don’t normally buy from supermarkets but figured palms have a short shelf life anyway so not worth forking out for one in a specialist shop! He’s HUGE.

Any tips to try prolong its doomed life?

Another dead Morrisons coconut palm over here. I blame the costy liv crisis and the cold snap when my kitchen was too cold, RIP tall green friend x

Cats are such a damn menace! I had a beautiful chain of hearts until my cat capsized it into his litter tray below

Oh no haha! I think chain of hearts must be irresistible to cats! We recently adopted two kittens and they love to nibble the leaves, I had to double it over and put it higher up! Apparently it’s non-toxic and safe for cats, sadly my cats are not safe for the plant

I've ordered a couple of things and a mystery box of cat friendly plants online. Hopefully here tomorrow. I have a problem, I work in a garden centre with a huge houseplant section and it's not enough

I wish I was near I would buy them Inspired by you I went searching for an alocasia at work but I can only find one, its looking a bit dusty, clearly been sitting there a while and was quite expensive so I'm not sure Might be too advanced for me!

Oh, I should have said, sometimes it takes several months before anything happens. Just stick the pits in some soil, water occasionally and then exercise patience!
