I don’t understand Holly’s obsession with morning routines. I mean I understand the concept of influencers and youtubers filming them because it seems like a relatively low effort video idea which functions as a kind of filler video. And from time to time it can be vaguely entertaining or soothing to watch, if it’s well executed or there’s a novel aspect to it, like ‘my morning routine living in X city’ (I’m thinking of Unjaded Jade who lives in various cities for uni and therefore has a justified reason for making that kind of content because every different place she lives will involve a slightly different routine and at least a different visual aspect - whether you approve of her uni is another matter, but I just mean that putting out a new morning routine every 3-4 months does at least work as a concept).
But Holly? Holly lives in her childhood bedroom with no variety, so every single routine is essentially the same? She shows herself waking up in her cot bed, brushing her teeth, eating breakfast, exercising (and sitting in the passenger seat of the car for some reason) and that’s literally it, just sometimes in a slightly different order. I just don’t understand the point of mimicking someone else’s ‘morning routine’, what does it achieve? Especially when she doesn’t even follow them properly…
Maybe there’s something I’m not seeing here because I also don’t really get the hype of ‘having a routine’ - maybe that’s because I wake up at 6:30am every day and am forced to leave the house my 7:30 to get to my actual job? I don’t have time to mess about ‘switching it up’ or trying out different variations, there is literally just a sequence of things I do in a sleep deprived state in order to put myself together and be able to get out of the door…
