Lady C was absolutely right to call out William for Kensington Palace's response to the Marlene Headley allegations.
In fairness he may very well have been flying to Boston, and so was unaware of the details...
So the usual "we condemn racism" was deemed sufficient...
And to some extent was, as Marlene only got to gob off on all the daytime chatshows, the news, NBC news....
Had they said, "we will look into the claims and take the appropriate action," - you know - like they didn't do originally with the bullying claims because they were terrified of being called RaCiSt - Marlene would have been on The Chase, Coronation Street, Gardeners World and reruns of the Benny Hill show on UK Gold.
Not that anyone is aware of the details.
For instance...
That transcript of the supposed conversation...
can anyone in the "Yoooooou Dooooont Understaaaand" brigade explain how that lasted 5 or 10 minutes, as Marlene and her friends claim.
And that is before you get into the claptrap about it supposedly invalidating her "Britishness".
Which is a bit weird as she was at an international reception which included the Queen of the Belgiums, the Queen of Jordan, Crown Princess Mary of Denmark, and the First Lady of Sierra Leone.
So what the duck has her "Britishness" got to do with anything?
Oh, I know, Yoooooou Doooon't Understaaaaand....
Well thank goodness Marlene explained it then, when she spouted off about how "as a woman of colour I knew I was out of place, in this space where the only black people who had been allowed in in were servants"
It's not the White House love...
Oh and while I think about it...
If it is true that Marlene was invited by a bed company in Todmordon, which makes beds for children with special needs.
I can sort of see, at a stretch (and it is a big stretch) why the bed company would be invited...
But why would the bed company invite Marlene?
I can't be arsed to look into whether the specialist bed company is connected with the Todmorden Bed Factory.
It probably is....
And if it is, it probably makes sense (not really) if she is supposedly kitting out a refuge.
Oh and one thing Lady C did say that had me wondering...
She said she had helped raise money for the Chiswick Women's Shelter in 1981, and she specifically named Erin Pizzey.
I found it a bit odd because by 1981 Erin Pizzey had fled to America after bomb threats and having her dog killed - allegedly by the charming sisters of the Women's Movement...
She must have meant 1971.
