I was thinking the same today, had a bit of enforced bed/sofa time since yesterday (covid vaccine side-effects) and was re-watching "The Last of the Mohicans" (the 1992 version with Daniel Day-Lewis). Gory as it is, I was thinking to myself that you just don't get many movies like this...there just haven't been many Hollywood productions in the last few years that I enjoyed...or even wanted to see.Hollywood is definitely not what it used to be.
There's been too much reliance on special effects, remakes and comic book stuff. There's hardly any films that I want to watch these days.
I saw the list of nominations for the Oscars this year and didn't know any of the films (and not that many of the actors)
