I would put Dylan in a period hut every month for a couple of years before he can sell me tampons.

Basically the direct opposite of what they say is true. Some more bull. These people have no idea what they are talking about.
There have been drag shows aimed at children where the performers are all dressed in skimpy underwear, and one individual just had knickers and no bra with small glittery stickers over the nipples. They were strutting up and down provocatively, then the kids would join them. The children were also putting money in the performers' knickers.Surely they don't do a typical drag show that you'd get at a gay club, though?I thought they just read childrens stories, presumably those with a slant on acceptance.
I'd like to know more really, as I feel most of the coverage and opinions are so reactionary/polarised and rarely give the full facts. So a lot of people react to what they think is going on, based on tabloid headlines or tweets.
I'd support the protestors if this kind of thing was being forced on children without parental consent (for example, if they came into a school without telling parents), but if parents are choosing to take their children there and have to remain with them at all times - then banning such things makes me uncomfortable as it's removing freedom of choice. Maybe I'm a bit biased, as I'm gay and I'd be willing to bet good money that a lot of those protestors would baulk at parents who teach their children that being gay is OK as well.
I feel the same about Julie Bindel (and others) being no-platformed as well, as I think people should be allowed to have their say - given people have to choose to be at these events. Consistency is key. I doubt many parents would like strangers telling them they know what's best for their children more than they do anyway.
Thank goodness more people are waking up about this and becoming angry about it.This has just been posted on YouTube and may explain why so many people are uncomfortable with the idea of Drag Queen story time.
So - there is a very popular character on CBeebies called Mr Tumble - he has a family, all played by the same actor including Aunt Polly, who is the actor dressed as a pantomime dame pretty much doing a posh voice. It is not ‘drag’ as we know it and it is nothing at all like what is going on at drag story time. People think man in dress = drag but there are adult themes and adult performances. I don’t see why it’s so hard to understand and a lot of parents are understanding when they take their kids to the National theatre and hear obscene suggestions towards their children. There have been drag shows aimed at children where the performers are all dressed in skimpy underwear, and one individual just had knickers and no bra with small glittery stickers over the nipples. Regarding the library events in particular, I don't think people would be outraged if family-friendly drag characters were reading kids stories. The advertising would be different; rather than saying "drag", the advertising would say the character name of the performer, who would most likely be of a fairytale or other famous children's story character (like the fairy godmother or someone). The drag would be secondary and not about gender bending, the main point would be to entertain the children. There would be underlying acceptance of gender differences but it would be age appropriate and entirely non-sexual.
The fact these library events are specifically advertised as "drag" as the main thing makes it obvious that the primary objective is to introduce children to drag for drag's sake, not for the children's entertainment and literacy. And the only reason for doing that (assuming the drag is non-sexual, which can't be trusted these days) is to indoctrinate children with gender, trans and gay politics, which parents are entitled to be uncomfortable with.
Aunt Polly Tumble is a million miles away from tawdry drag queens (I absolutely adore Mr Tumble!) Some people just don’t get the subtleties of it. Not every man in a dress is “in drag”.So - there is a very popular character on CBeebies called Mr Tumble - he has a family, all played by the same actor including Aunt Polly, who is the actor dressed as a pantomime dame pretty much doing a posh voice. This head thinks size of tampon relates to size of tina - what a male assumption.Thats so disgusting 'depending how big your Barbie pouch is'women need to stand up against these brands and not buy them. I haven't used sanitary products for ages due to contraception needed to stop my period due to pain from Endometriosis. Not bleeping funny at all dealing with a debilitating condition that only WOMEN can suffer from. These men think its all pink, fluffy and cute. Its quite the opposite actually living life as a girl and growing into a woman. They objectify us and our experiences. Its basically cos play
TRAs always accuse GCs of wanting to strictly enforce gender roles. Where the duck they get that idea from I do not knowSome more bull. These people have no idea what they are talking about.
Also there's the idea that Allison Bailey will now be seen as unemployable but if she's lucky, maybe JK Rowling might pay her to carry her bags for her.
They'll all jump on the " ticking -box" bandwagon , now , as every other bleeping organisation is doing it.![]()

They assume that because religious right wingers are also critical of trans people, we're one and the same. I can assure them I have zero in common with the religious right wing beyond my ability to identify a male and a femaleTRAs always accuse GCs of wanting to strictly enforce gender roles. Where the duck they get that idea from I do not know
Unless they’re making the assumption that, if we are against the transing of kids and TIMs in women’s spaces, we must also be strictly in favour of men being men and women being women.
Maybe if they understood that to be gender critical is to advocate prenseting however the hell you want without having to LARP as the opposite sex (or enby), more would join our side.
Being gay or straight or fancying a bit of both ( ac/dc) is all perfectly normal & is a private part of an individuals life.
Children do not need trans or drag Queens at school encouraging them to ' open their legs' or indulge in a bit of adult ' twerking', nor to hear sexual comments from them at a pre-High School age, in the name of ' inclusivity' or ' diversity or anything else.
Drag is intrinsically an adult art form. It is satire and sexually suggestive humour, often dressed as an exaggerated stereotype of a woman. The dancing, the tucking the often very naked outfits - none of it is suitable for children.
ETA lots of drag queens also agree - I have seen them on Twitter saying ‘don’t bring your kids to our shows or to brunch it’s weird’. It’s not about accepting gay people then it’s about accepting drag because most gay people aren’t drag queens - they are teachers, and doctors and parents themselves, they live the same mundane lives as everyone else and that should what kids are taught, that they can live and love who they want.
Oh look, another way for men to beat women at sports. I get that parkrun isn’t a race and markets itself around participation, but it also provides an age/sex grading to your run and a position number accordingly.![]()
