I use period underwear from a group called Hey Girls - very woman-centric, more eco-friendly and what you pay goes to help charities fight period poverty. They're very good and do the job - plus the org seem to be very woman-led

Excellent. This is what is needed, a broader clinical approach rather than a dogmatic one. Common sense and consideration of other factors have now been allowed back into the equation.

I've noticed that TRAs seem obsessed with the idea that "cis women" are constantly throwing other "cis women" out of changing rooms and toilets because they don't look conventionally feminine enough. It's just such a load of bull and will never happen. It doesn't matter how unconventionally feminine a woman looks, you just know what sex they are by using your eyes.

On the topic of drag queen story time (I'm a few pages behind) - think this was mentioned on older threads but there are a lot of parents wanting to befriend their children instead of actually, y'know, being a parent. Didn't Myleene Klass host a drag-themed birthday party for her kid last year? That sort of thing.
Drag itself isn't completely mainstream but it's getting there - Rupaul's Drag Race has always been a reality TV show, but the last few years have been more like scripted reality with storylines and staged drama and a load of chat about "acceptance", whatever that means these days. There are arena tours involving the cast now too. So that has brought in a lot of younger fans (and I mean pre-teen young) and their parents who have probably watched it for years and now getting their kids involved.
None of that makes drag queens "role models", they are still simply men dressing up as women for entertainment, so I don't quite get the drag queen story time stuff. It's daft.

It does happen to a slight extent. I'm taller than most women and many men and often dress in pretty gender neutral jeans and baggy sweatshirts (they're comfy, don't judge!). It's not at all uncommon for a shop assistant or whatever to not be paying much attention and call me sir. However, they then look up and apologise so it doesn't go any further. As ever with these things, there is some basis for the comment but it's not the full story. It was more common when travelling in southern India but that could be that I was proportionally even taller there as the average women were about a foot shorter than me. Who knows. Personally I'd prefer not to be called sir but it doesn't bother me. On a tall women's forum I'm on it seems to be more of an issue in the US for some reason.
You’re right. Drag Queen Story Hour would not be a thing without RuPaul’s Drag Race. Drag has been so sanitised by that show. Teenage girls and middle aged women alike really adore drag queens like they used to love boy bands. And both drag queens and boy bands find themselves projecting a wholesome public image that stands at odds with their adult human male private lives.
Mermaids is the General Oblation Board, Suzie Green Mrs Coulter and the Tavistock Bolvanger in my view.
