Good point ! No I think this topic is great to have but the majority seem to be against trans people existing - not gonna get into that, your views are your own business.
I guess I'm wondering how you all ended up with these views ? Having a trans cousin and close friends who are gay I grew up knowing about everythingg. Did none of you have trans friends or anything ?
It is deffo much more common now. My aunt who is in endocrinology told me over 34% of her patients regret or don't go ahead with the physical side which is LOT.
I dont think the majority of people on here are against anyone individually expressing themselves, as trans or whatever.
But what causes the confusion, is when some of these so called trans rights, are in direct opposition to old fashioned feminist womens rights! Or when these trans rights defy logic! (Like the changes in what words mean, eg girldick????? How can a dick be a female attribute? It isnt!)
Things like the right of women to an even playing field when competing in sports, and not having an unfair advantage to someone who is bigger and taller and stronger than them because they have been through male puberty!
Or things like women using the word woman to describe themselves, or things like women thinking that a woman is someone with xx chromones, breasts, a vagina and a higher voice than men.
Things like the trans movement doesnt seem to understand the role of male patriarchy, and how hard women have had to fight to be seen as equal to men, and to get some kind of basic equal rights? And how traditionally women have been seen as second class citizens, forced to take a back seat to men.
Which was kinda proved to still exist in the UK in the 21st century, when during lockdown, women were still expected to take on board 80% of the additional childcare committments, supervise homework etc, whilst still working from home. Why was it so imbalanced if men and women are equal?
So as a reaction to what is being said by some elements of the trans movement, some women and men are moving further away and taking a more determined stance. Hence the idea that no one born male can become female! Its a reaction to the way things have been going.
