So Fiona isn’t very good at living in limbo! We get that Fiona, you have lived the last 8 months like nothing is going on in the world.
And you are most definitely not bothered about people’s health and happiness. All you are bothered about is that your 40th celebrations are on the verge of being cancelled, and that karma will hit you in your smug face and take away the babysitters you so desperately rely on! You know, the babysitters that you shouldn’t be using in the first place.
She is so patronising and hasn’t one empathetic bone in her body!

In limbo about her birthday that’s what she’s bothered about. Unless she’s actually worried about Chris’s job and paying bills.

But she’s ok she’s got that big pot of savings

I was 40 in June had numerous things cancelled which I was sad about because I am allowed to be sad for myself and my cancelled plans difference is I had my moment of self pity and I got over it! I'm healthy, my husband is healthy and so are our 3 boys. On my actual 40th Birthday we went for a walk in the morning had chippy chips in the garden for lunch, hubby had cocktails delivered to the door, my friends got me balloons and a gorgeous cake, and once the boys were in bed we had a Chinese and more drinks and watched TV on the eve. It was perfect I'm hoping to rearrange all what got cancelled as soon as it's safe and we're allowed to do so. I had a Bottomless Brunch booked with my sister and friends for the weekend after my 40th in June, cancelled obviously. Re booked it for next Saturday thinking I'd give things a bit longer to settle down, turns out we should have done it sooner as we're in Birmingham and already in Tier 2 so will have to sit outside atm if we can still go which isn't looking likely as word is we will be in Tier 3 imminently if not a national lockdown! So we will wait, again till we are allowed to meet up when it is safe.
Today is Halloween me and my husband took our boys to Pumpkins R Us last Sunday, we bought a mini pumpkin and a medium one so today (it's pissing down here) we are staying in, the boys are in fancy dress and we will carve pumpkins together, let them trick or treat around the house with cheap buckets and sweets we bought from Lidl and watch a film together, later my hubby and I will have some snacks, drinks and watch a scary film, we're even planning some sexy time if we can distract the kids for long enough
Those poor twins aren't allowed to touch those pumpkins by the looks of it never mind get messy carving them

Yesterday I started watching The Social Dilemma on Netflix and one part of it really made me think of Fakeaholic and her ilk. It made me realise that, even though she believes that she is an influencer and content creator, that she is actually being manipulated by social media herself.
The ex VP of Facebook growth stated that social media conflates likes with value. Likes and hearts get you a fake, brittle popularity which is short term and leaves you even more vacant and empty than before. It forces you into a vicious cycle of the next thing...
She is no more than a puppet - a product being used by advertisers to make money for them, how sad a life that is.

This is the first time she's genuinely thought about covid. And it's because it might affect her birthday.
2 of my best friends are also missing out on their 40ths in the next couple of months. You know what? They're not bothered. She's shitting herself because she made all her effort with her body for photos of her and now she might not get them.
Boo hoo flops, you got Florida, any amounts of nights away from your boys.

Also maybe it's just me but I use LinkedIn professionally and I would never expect anyone I know on there who is called Nicola to use Nikki... maybe I am a bit old fashioned but that appears as though she has no idea how to use that platform.

It’s my birthday in a couple of weeks, the plan is take away and FaceTime with my parents. No fancy nights out as I’m the ‘carer’ for my parents and mother in law, I basically just do the shopping for them as we don’t want to to be leaving the house and putting themselves as risk, it’s scary times and Nikki really doesn’t seem to care! It was my husband’s birthday during lockdown too and I arranged a cocktail party at home for him, just us two, but did a fancy menu with all his favourite cocktails on and he said it was the best birthday ever (I think he was being nice )

I’m a ‘professional’ I hate using that term, on LinkedIn. My company even pays for individual training for the platform as it’s a business tool. The first piece of advice was, keep it work related, don’t include anything about your personal life. Even down to your profile picture not being one of your wedding day (in case someone you want to connect with has recently gone through a divorce) Nikki, if someone is helping with your SM I’d suggest you find someone else!
