TOTALLY agree re Aiden. What a bloomin wet blanket. You just know he's reading Walden in his spare time and thinking about getting white dreads.
Why did it take me so long to come back here? This is the best line ever (and applicable to too many men-folk I know).

I do not think you will be disappointed.
I'm not! You lot are hilarious.

Wish I could join @Nottonightbabe on her ancient forest walk. Not to drag down this hilarious thread, but for anyone struggling with mental health (and that's surely everyone in Covid-times), getting out in nature is so helpful in managing anxiety and feelings of doom. And at the risk of giving away that I'm not really a hard-boiled cop, but a hippy hausfrau, being wtih trees is soothing to the soul.

I live quite near a gorgeous river and will take a little walk down there later, to look at ducks and weeping willows and calm my anxiety (which is through the roof since school started). I might find time to ponder Keir's BDE on the way.

The mental health benefits are largely why I'm looking forward to it so much! I find woodlands very soothing. The sea too, I love a coastal trip any time of the year. Mr Nottonight is not usually impressed when I drag him to watch the sea in January though 🤔

Babe, same.

The sea does something magical to my brain. Do not triangulate me, but a few weeks ago we went on a trip to the nearest beach and there were pods of seals (are they called pods?). It was amazing. Families on the beach looking into the sea, families of seals sticking their heads above the water looking back at us humans.

It's a yes from me. A large part of his appeal for me is the superhero socialism and human rights defence so the McLibel era is HOT. I love his passion.
I agree that his silver fox look is 😍 and he's matured exceptionally well.

Right?! They’re only pushing schools so much so parents can return to work and buy Pret. How the duck can they justify offices being open with these daily test results? And pubs are staying open?!
I got informed last week that we were all meant to be returning to the office this week. Ended up sending a strong e-mail to HR informing them that despite trying to convince us the office is this safe Corona-repulsing environment, that until the daily case numbers go down and I feel safe enough to travel on public transport, I shall not be returning.

Still waiting on a formal response on this; but in the mean time the rest of my team and large office are all returning... I'm not one to generally shy away from kicking up a stink when needs must, but I know a lot of people will feel pressured to return and may not advocate for themselves as much as they should or would like.

There is absolutely no justification in returning to offices when you can do your work fully from home.

Slightly behind but I totally agree with everyone re nature/sea - when at the MIL's over the past 2 weeks we walked miles along the coast one day, came away with an overall feeling of calmness that I hadn't had in so long - just lovely!

Comforting TV - I'd agree with @Pocahontas that Poldark is a great go-to, that Cornish scenery  I am a big fan of Coupling too for easy watching -though they do like using the word 'bottom' a LOT - but pure 90s nostalgia - the fashion! The hair!

Cheese - give me ALL OF IT.

Finally - my meeting with the 'big boss' went well - no danger of losing any pay, and he said that if I get any more bullsh*t come straight to him and if necessary once my handover docs are complete and signed off (which I am doing today and tomorrow) he will limit my contact with my manager as much as possible so I leave on a happy note. He will also do my reference for me. Yay!

That’s so brilliant about your boss, what a dude he is to give you support and reassurance - he sounds like he has BDE.

Ugh I just did that thing where you send someone something meant for someone else and it’s made me feel so anxious!

My company is acting like dicks we’re WFH for the forseeable but they’re Indian owned and are using it as the excuse to offshore since clearly the job can be done remotely. Constant negativity and threat of what may or may not happen and some really morally corrupt decisions being made.

Love that I’ve come back to seals and BDE. My favourite kind of E.

Someone mentioned This Life ... MY FAVOURITE OF ALL TIME .. Egg is my second favourite E to be honest. Although have become increasingly attracted to Myles as I age and I still think one of the sexiest moments on tv is when Anna breaks the wine glass and they do it on the sofa.
Don’t mind me guys, just having a hot flush

Oh no, he’s far better chunkier and grey. Funnily this pic makes him look like one of the interchangeable hole guys that pop up in early seasons of SATC, like the weird gross phone sex solicitor Miranda had a fling with?

I’m not 100% but I’m pretty sure the nearest sea to me is Southend 😂 Probably equally as close to the ones in Kent but we don’t go there, the problem is they’ll all be absolutely rammed. How nice would it be to have your feet in the sea though!!

We were meant to be going on holiday to France in early October but there’s no way we’ll get baby a passport as she won’t be registered til late September. I was tempted to go to Victoria IRL and try it but now rates are going up I don’t want us to be anywhere near a tube. We’d written off the money already, but now France is in lockdown it’s very likely we’ll be able to re arrange til next year (plus we know the owner & we’re repeat visitors?) so I’m really really hopeful for 2021!!

Hi Frauen! I can only seem to keep up well with one thread at a time, so I'm quite happy She Who Must Not be Named is quiet so I can catch up with you all on here 🙂

Someone mentioned the Rosemary and Thyme programme... a very gentle watch when you want something calming to iron along to 😊

I'm going to an outdoor pub garden for the first time since lockdown. I'm scared but feel the need to try it before considering going back to working in an office. So far I've kept outings to walks and food shops.

On my local village Facebook pages parents are really losing their patience with the schools over confusion as to who is being sent home, and mystery surrounding which teachers are off sick etc. I really feel for parents, it's becoming like a game of hokey kokey with what you can and cannot do. 🙁 one leg in, one leg out, in out in out shake it all about....

I've watched a few episodes of Rosemary and Thyme, it's excellent "Sunday afternoon sitting on the couch, drinking tea" viewing.

This makes me think of a young Andrew Lincoln...sorry! Loved Teachers - keep meaning to see if it’s available anywhere to re-watch.

Also do any other Frauen remember Early Edition? The lead actor Kyle Chandler was my 12yr old crush back in the day. Naff tv but loved it. Also massive fan of Ally McBeal and ER. Dr Kovac . Also loved Northern Exposure.
