My lunch! (OK fine I also have a pret sandwich)... One of my favourite things to do is go on long walks, drinking along the way. Me and my pal are experts - we walked the entire Kent coastline mostly pissed. Highlights included getting lost in the viagra laboratory complex, and calling a man who pushed in front of me in Waitrose a fucking gammon (I was already several wines in... And he WAS a gammon) 😬

Just made a nice white cob with my youngest and it smells goooooood. Hope you’re all having a splendid weekend. We’re not going anywhere as my eldest has a mahoosive blister from his new school shoes and he ‘cannot wear shoes this weekend not even flip flops, so don’t ask me, ok?’

Guys I've done a chaos. Went yellow sticker mad at Marks earlier and now my fridge is bursting at the seams with food which needs eaten NOW including two large chickens. I assumed my mum and my sister would come over for lunch tomorrow but turns out they're BUSY and they refuse to come by on Friday to eat chicken which is two days out of date (pussies). Anyway long story short I'm going to be eating very well for the next few days and yet I have anxiety about the sheer amount of food I need to get through.

Embarrassingly, this is the ultimate act of nepotism, as I find myself patting myself on the back. I gladly share the honour with @Nottonightbabe as these were her actual words. 🎉
Sorry @Alansbigplate, Mouthfeel 2 didn’t quite make the grade, although I must tell you it was close, so there‘s some sick frauen out there 😂

All welcome 🌸

Fraus, just got a request to be on Australian national radio! Steeling myself up to accept - I've never done anything like this before, so I'm getting visions of me blurting out a 'thanks very Matt much, Matt' or HOOTING maniacally. Actually, it's not a bad idea to go and watch some JM - *nobody* could be as bad as her, surely :ROFLMAO:

Fraus, this is neither food nor drink, but insane excitement caused by my first haircut this year. Lockdown turned my hair from an asymmetric bob with undercut into a long, outgrown mullet of many varying lengths 😬 Not cool, fraus, not cool at all.

Have decided to keep my hair longer this time with what I like to think of as a Viking princess undercut, but is really the shattering of my reverse rat’s tail dream. Obviously, this was caused by teeth-gnashing, pattern-specific hair loss; no clippers were involved.

Goldschlager- when everyone said that the gold cut your throat a tiny bit so the alcohol would make you drunker. I believed that for years 😂

Slightly behind but I totally agree with everyone re nature/sea - when at the MIL's over the past 2 weeks we walked miles along the coast one day, came away with an overall feeling of calmness that I hadn't had in so long - just lovely!

Comforting TV - I'd agree with @Pocahontas that Poldark is a great go-to, that Cornish scenery  I am a big fan of Coupling too for easy watching -though they do like using the word 'bottom' a LOT - but pure 90s nostalgia - the fashion! The hair!

Cheese - give me ALL OF IT.

Finally - my meeting with the 'big boss' went well - no danger of losing any pay, and he said that if I get any more bullsh*t come straight to him and if necessary once my handover docs are complete and signed off (which I am doing today and tomorrow) he will limit my contact with my manager as much as possible so I leave on a happy note. He will also do my reference for me. Yay!

Artist's rendition of me watching; sad adverts, tv programmes where an animal dies, tv programmes where an animal might die, tv programmes where an animal doesn't die but then that means the hunting animal goes hungry and may starve, Christmas adverts, Up, Toy story fucking 4, Hollywood movies where someone, usually old, nobly sacrifices themselves for the greater good (the greater good)...

I once gave myself petechiae watching kids gogglebox when some elephants nearly drowned. They were fine in the end. I was a mess.

I avoid as many of the above situations as possible now to keep myself calm.

Got Covid results...and it is NEGATIVE.
Thank goodness! I knew it would be but was starting to convince myself otherwise.

I loved Pie in the Sky. I used to watch repeats on ITV3 when I was feeding my daughter in the wee small hours when she was a baby.

Fraus! I cooked proper food. Well, pretty much. Lovely, lovely ramen. It was very comforting and super chilli hot. Apols for slight JM look to it.

Ooh fraus (especially @blurstoftimes), had some *chefs kiss* Mexican food tonight - and if corona keeps going the way it's going, maybe my last meal out for a while... Waiter asked if we minded vacating our table early and sweetened the deal with free mezcal margheritas so am a LITTLE PISSED.

It's amazing how calming the sea is! Had a shite day at work so drove quite a distance to get here and tbh it was so worth it. Even had an ice cream!

is it intrusive to ask if you’re still seeing your lover? I live vicariously through your boning and coloured socks
We saw each other at the weekend but I've cooled on him a bit because he admitted something I was a bit HMMMM about as a feminist (I realise I'm doing that annoying thing that teases scandal but doesn't go into detail...sorry!).

Anyway my ex has revealed he is in town this weekend and has asked to see me...so there might be a whole new ill-advised gossip to impart 😬 (we do not do well at not sleeping together when we meet up). I am going to really TRY and be aloof and unavailable though.

TOTALLY agree re Aiden. What a bloomin wet blanket. You just know he's reading Walden in his spare time and thinking about getting white dreads.
Why did it take me so long to come back here? This is the best line ever (and applicable to too many men-folk I know).

I do not think you will be disappointed.
I'm not! You lot are hilarious.

Wish I could join @Nottonightbabe on her ancient forest walk. Not to drag down this hilarious thread, but for anyone struggling with mental health (and that's surely everyone in Covid-times), getting out in nature is so helpful in managing anxiety and feelings of doom. And at the risk of giving away that I'm not really a hard-boiled cop, but a hippy hausfrau, being wtih trees is soothing to the soul.

I live quite near a gorgeous river and will take a little walk down there later, to look at ducks and weeping willows and calm my anxiety (which is through the roof since school started). I might find time to ponder Keir's BDE on the way.
