Currently Grunking through thread 2 and so am aware I'm massively behind real time and off topic but as I can't reply to or quote any of the posts, I just wanted to zoom through the time space continuum just to say I've never been on a forum where I relate so much to the people posting. I'm just reading your posts about friendship circles and/or lack of, self esteem, and being introverts and I'll be honest I've shed tears today because any number of them could have been me writing them, and it honestly blew my mind because I've always felt so out of place and off for being the way I am, but reading the thread today has made me realise that a lot of us here have an amazing amount in common and it genuinely touched me so thank you all and massive hugs to you all xxx

Back to reading through, I hope to catch up in real time sooner rather than later x

Lovely words @AmTellinYa ! When you get chance do the Myers Briggs Personality Test, most of us seem to be in either the same or identical categories which is really interesting.

@AmTellinYa come, put your Vanned feet up, put on some smooth jazz and join the introverts (and some extroverts ๐Ÿ˜‚) forum.

Oh I don't think I added to the meyers briggs chat. From what I recall I'm an INFP - I don't find it hugely accurate cos I can be very extroverted at times but mostly I'm just happy on my own feeling my way through life!

Cooked tonight. Turkish tabbouleh (the tomatoes right now are incredible!), home made baba ganoush (yes I did the faffy fire roasting of the ๐Ÿ† on the gas burner) with pine nuts and pomegranate molasses, and beyaz peynir (turkish version of feta) with pul biber flakes. My phone hates the light in this flat so no good pic, but I tried:

Then I had figs and pine nuts drizzled in honey for dessert which I SNARFED so quickly I forgot to take a pic. Baklava and a ciggy for a nightcap.

(and adding to the chat earlier about unwanted critters, I found a caterpillar in my Bulgur wheat! Still ate it tho... ๐Ÿ˜ฌ)

I just grunkad through today as well and had such similar thoughts. So many of you posted messages about friendships, independence and introvertedness (introversion?) that just blew me away for how much they resonated with me. Even though everyone seems to have such a lovely variety of backgrounds, ages and interests (whoever it was who posted about hating Lord of the Rings in thread one really made me laugh โ€” snap!), there seems to be this real unifying undercurrent here. Youโ€™re all very much my cuppa tea.

Ooft hate LOTR and GOT, may have been me? I missed the tests so did it and Iโ€™m an ISFP, no idea if itโ€™s good or bad and if it matches other Frau?

@Nottonightbabe donโ€™t want to triangulate you or be really nosey (ok I am), but Iโ€™m really interested in your gypsy heritage, I definitely think itโ€™s mysterious. Do you still follow a lot of traditions, do your family?x
Ahh I'm glad I'm at least a little bit interesting ๐Ÿ˜‚

It's sometimes difficult to talk about traditions as there are things we probably do, and ways of doing things that we don't necessarily realise are specific to us, it's just 'the way things are'?
A lot of much older traditions and ways of living have unfortunately been ironed (forced) out by modern society and our government.

I'd say my family is fairly traditional though, so for example things like weddings and funerals will usually be carried out differently to non gypsies. My vocabulary is peppered with a variety of words from Rom, the Romany language and most of my family speak this way too.
I do live in a mobile home as do the vast majority of my family, almost noone nowadays is nomadic however.

There's lots of ways that my life has been more conventional however, I was always encouraged to get a good education (as opposed to getting married, having children, staying at home), I attended grammar school and went straight out to work. My house does not look like a 'gypsy' house inside, bless my cousins they love their china but it's not for me ๐Ÿ˜‚

Thank you, I didnโ€™t want to offend you, I find it so interesting how everyone lives differently... or not! I think with everything modern society creeps in and things change x
