I’m going to cook the f**k out of my trench of despair. I have an electric pressure cooker, and I love it. This evening I will be making braised pork belly with soy, honey, chilli flakes, ginger, star anise and dry sherry. I can make lovely food. I can show appreciation to my OH for his love and patience by giving him very good things to eat. Here’s my mise en place. Happy Sunday evening, ninnies xxx

I can't decide whether to make salmon, roasties and broccoli or lasagne and (bag of) Caesar salad for dinner?
The salmon is less labour intensive but lasagne is proper autumn Sunday evening bliss.
I have just eaten salmon 😋

I’m having chocolate milk and crisps for tea tonight unless mr duck ( 🤮 ) comes over with takeaway/food because I’ve been too lazy to go food shopping today and my kids are at their dad/grans for a few days . For starter I have a bag of prawn cocktail seabrooks, main is M&S pigs in blankets snack shapes ( not as nice as the black pepper ones sadly ) and dessert is a classic Morrisons cheese and onion .

What are the bbc on? If you want to make a program about the history of television, fine, go ahead, don’t call it the antiques roadshow! It quite clearly is not!

Okay, emboldened by the number of people here who also get yoga rage, I'm going to see if I have any fellow weirdos on the slightly strange videos you like to watch on YouTube front. It started for me when I discovered blackhead squeezing videos - it's a great disappointment to me that Mr F doesn't get blackheads on his back for me to deal with, so this was a great way to get my squeezing fix. Then YouTube suggested I might like cow hoof trimming videos and I found out I did. I'm particularly fond of The Hoof GP, who is a lovely young bloke in the south of Scotland who travels round sorting out problems with cows' feet and putting it all on video. After a few months of watching those it started suggesting a channel belonging to a user called post 10, who's a sweet American guy who goes around unblocking road culverts that have been blocked by beavers. And my most recent channel subscription is Groom House, which is a young married couple, Serbian vet students, who groom very matted street dogs and dogs that have just arrived in rescue.

Anyone else got any weird YouTube addictions?

The hoof gp is the best thing about YouTube imo. I’ve gone off pimple/ingrown hair extraction videos after going off on an ear cleaning video tangent for a while . My current thing is competitive eaters like beardmeatsfood which I watch with half disgust and half awe, and travel vloggers like TrekTrendy, Jeb brooks and non stop Dan

It smells wonderful. I flash fried the pepper and spring onion separately to keep the crunch. Steamed rice ready.
I would post video of tasting it but don’t think that would be ok
This looks absolutely delicious 3T! I bet it smells absolutely heavenly 😍 are you using a recipe ?

I've once again let my attempts to exercise lapse especially as my commitments in and out of work increased but I've decided to not beat myself up about it, just be positive about when i do something healthy and try to be kind to myself when I make poor choices.

Someone on these threads mentioned Caroline Girvan in the past. Her EPIC beginner series is fab, you can absolutely do 1 or 2 of those a week in front of your TV even when you're busy and it's so much better than nothing (recommend turning the volume down and using your own music though)

My problem is the physically getting up and going to the gym, need a buddy to go with, or to start doing classes and make a friend I think - once I'm actually there it's fun!

Perhaps we need to form a commune with a Frau gym 🤔😄

Babe, eat how you feel. I hate the narrative that we all need to be bleeping chefs as well as everything else. Can I interest madam in a slice of buttered bread to juszh up her main? 😂🎉

Ugh, I have a friend who's into those pimple-popping videos. For a while they kept showing up in my feed because of him liking them. But he's a dentist, so gross tit is his bread and butter.

Well happy with how the pastitsio turned out. Couldn’t get the big bucatini but it’s turned out fine with the smaller one. One of the cats getting on board obviously.

Frauen I just cooked the most appalling dinner - normally I'm a great cook but this was just shite (oven baked salmon in foil with rice and peas - took ages to cook and the veg under the salmon was still basically raw). Is the slopmonster's influence rubbing off on me?????

Omg my husband loves YouTube so I’ve ended up exposed to some weird tit through it, it’s our go to and he’s currently scrolling it as I tattle #modernlove

I love all the engineering and science ppl. William Osman/Safety third, backyard scientist, Mark Rober, and their little crews are all good and I pray my little girl likes this stuff when she’s older! I also love Lego and like Tiago’s channel but hate all the others.

On mat leave when I’d be up from 4/5am got into IKEA upcycles despite never ever having the time or skillset to execute them. Also got into housewives tea YouTube channels but don’t have time for that now. And fashion YouTube, haute le mode has gotten better but the rest are largely trash.

Husband started watching some guy that vacuums up wasps nests? That’s quite relaxing. And then we got onto one channel where this bloke had random animals or bugs bite him and he had to react but I didn’t like that, it’s too suspenseful and stressful. He watches those ppl that catch out scammers too but it’s 😴😴😴 imo. Ironically lol.

Also ngl really enjoy Sesame Street on YT 😂 I think it’s so well done and genuinely educational, I don’t mind screen time with it and have even grown fond of little Elmo.

I never understand how people don't like mushrooms!
I used to hate all mushrooms and think they were the work of the devil. Recently, though, I've been persuaded that I'm actually ok with 'posh mushrooms'; call it a cep, chanterelle or shitake, and make sure it isn't slimy or swimming in a pool of liquid, and I can cope. Beyond that: no!

OMG I thought it was just me that got the problematic hoof trimming recommendations and was weirdly addicted. I now get fungal nail ones too, but they are less satisfying.

We have the same taste in YouTube 😂 I do prefer Nate the Hoof Guy to the Hoof GP though! Not on your list but I find them in a similar vein, I really love restoration videos (e.g. Forgotten Shine Restoration, Restore & Rescue, etc), painting blobs (Jay Lee Painting), and East Asian food factory production videos (e.g. 푸드킹덤 Food Kingdom - although I only watch cake/bread/sweets type videos but on checking the name have just noticed they have meat factory videos on their page 😣 so I suggest just searching for cake factory or similar. The street food ones are also really interesting!).

For people who like blackhead squeezing videos I highly recommend the earwax removal community on TikTok...Durham Hearing Specialists are excellent with a similar level of expert commentary that you get with the Hoof Guys!

It's a belated Saturday fact, pals;

Just been watching Trading Places (this film must have been offensive in it's day, let alone by today's standards lol), anyways, I googled about the ending because the stock trade confuses me.

The Fact- Trading Places is now responsible for the 'Eddie Murphy Law' in commodities trading. Who'd have thought?!

Trading commodities on inside information obtained from the government wasn't actually illegal when the movie came out, but it's illegal now. It was banned in the 2010 finance-overhaul law, under a special provision often referred to as the Eddie Murphy Rule.
