Lovely to see a picture of the new Geetdog @Geetbo, hope he's settling in well!

Homemade butter sounds amazing @panda_eyes! Love seeing all the food photos/hearing about what everyone's been cooking.

I was going to do something nice with chicken this evening but I've been feeling crappy all weekend, so I might just do pasta.

My sleeping pattern is all over the place the last few weeks, it's almost half two am and I've just woken up to get a cup of tea and a cheeky vape. Of course the cats think it's breakfast time because the kettle's on.

Oh, Tunnely that's hilarious. My friend calls him the Brad Pitt of the cat world because he's so handsome and photos really don't do justice to his true beauty. He's great for cuddles too, like having a miniature bear in the bed.

Sorry if I sound a bit OTT excited, but it is genuine.
I actually managed to go out and socialise today, had the usual anxiety attack beforehand, but then had such a good time. I really hope everyone else is having a lovely Sunday too.

Today I tried to go swimming, had a bit of a panic (quietly) and just had ten minutes in the poolside sauna instead, which was actually lovely, came home and cooked asparagus, new potatoes, salmon fillets with my fancy lime sugar/salt and cheaty lime mayo (Hellmans with fresh lime juice and some chilli flakes), plus made some cardamom ice cream for the week ahead (when I was whipping the cream for this I briefly thought about making butter @panda-eyes , so jinks!). Then slept for two hours.

Agree with @Sideboard Bob that Geetpup is truly outdoing himself in the cuteness factor. What a beautiful little animalo he is. And it’s always lovely to bond like that-trust enough for proper cuddles is a lovely thing.

Love this thread so- all the lovely animalos, home cooked foodos, and mutual support and trusto through all things.

PS regarding the Sunday vibe that’s going on, had the new thread started by dear @LennyBriscoe been ‘share your favourite meme’ this Napoleon Dynamite one would have been it hands down. It’s just so extremely calming. Aaaaaah, yes, just like Uncle Rocco I would like that immensely….

Once when my parents stayed at mine they asked me to put a film on so I played Napoleon Dynamite for them. They sat there with their mouths open the whole time with WTF expressions. Fab film, I never get tired of telling people I'm hunting wolverines.

This all sounds so lovely! (Apart from the panic obvs. But the sauna sounds good.) I really like cardamom ice cream and I don't think I've ever met anyone else who's tried it.

The starfish fact is truly fascinating. Things that live underwater are so weird, I prefer not to imagine all the horrifying things we don't even know about, just hanging out in the ocean. We know about octopuses and that's enough for me.

Here is a fact: there are river dolphins that live in the Ganges that are almost totally blind. They also swim on their sides to move through shallow water. They're not as majestic as Pooh, they look pretty chill though.

I made this tonight, and it was really easy and delicious. Great that it's vegan, too. I'm useless at baking on the whole so I was pretty impressed that this was fairly idiot proof.

Good morning.

Well, I'm depressed. The capital D sort of an episode where having a shower is impossible due to the sheer weight of the water, and where sleeping 4pm to 1am seems totally normal.

I'm in anti-depressants, and will use my experience and resourcefulness to trudge it out.

I have to laugh, though. Depression is so stupid. I actually know I'm a smart, funny, amazing woman. Why on earth would I listen to my own brain telling me I'm so unworthy that washing some cutlery is not permissible?

As always, I am fine at work. My depression brain is extremely good at compartmentalising.

Anyway, it's good to normalise talking about depression and anxiety as if it's a bad cold. I've built somewhat of an immunity to it since 2018, so I may well do some housework on my day off tomorrow. And I'll spend time with the trio of ponies. Force myself. It's not climbing a mountain, but mountains are comfortingly always there to welcome me back. Thanks beautiful mountains.
