JCC, those puppies are gorgeous!

Pinging @Soapy Dolphin from the MT - if you ever bought beads or findings from an online bead shop (website or eBay, tiny bit on Amazon) on the north coast of Scotland, yes, that was me! Or do you know me from somewhere else? #intrigued

Who's joining me for hot cross buns in the spite orangery? They're lapsang souchong-infused prune flavour. Joking, I'm not <tom cruise.gif>. I did go a little bit rogue and used dried cherries instead of sultanas and half of them have chocolate chunks. The crosses look like I had some equine assistance but I'm just being harsh on myself because they're not perfect.

These look gorgeous! Definitely being hard on yourself, if they taste even half as good as they look and sound then I'm very jealous!

A bit perturbed by the absence of an inexplicable egg, mind, you lose points for that 😜

It was the online bead shop in Scotland that got me thinking. Ten or more years ago. Trying to remember what I bought from where but it was probably mainly findings at that time.
Were you ever on Frit Happnens, UKJC, Bead Buddies or Cooksongold forums?

Cooksongold forums, yes, but not very frequently. My shop was, rather hubristically, The Great Big Bead Shop, I had it from about 2005 to 2015, so the time is right.

Ooo, the name definitely rings a bell. I think I was a customer in my early jewellery making days when I did bead and wirework. 👋 Wish I still had the receipts! 😭 I then discovered I loved metalwork and chainmaille and did that for a few years. Still got an impressive, if unused, collection of hammers and stakes. :)

Harking back thread a bit, I went to The Hacienda in the late 80's. Mr Soapy D is a manc. We were/are big New Order fans but it was also really cheap! I think we went four times but a lot of that student socialising seems very hazy now. :D

Omg.

Hot cross bunnage. They look fabulous.

We had lentil moussaka but are in the middle of the JS documentary which after watching a film with Emily Watson last night about the children in care being shipped to Australia, means I am emotionally drained.

More pup pics I think or GOT.

So, I hate this with a passion as does Mrs T (which I thought was par for the course for veggies/vegans) but I follow a runner who is a vegan and he has just posted a picture of himself watching it with a glass of bubbly and a load of ❤ and “let’s get this weekend started” captions. Now, he isn’t being sarcastic, but isn’t this a bit… well, off?

Hi fraus,
Someone on the MT recommended I join this thread a few days ago; I didn’t know about it but I’m here now.

I hope you like facts, puppies, cats, food and tree kangaroos! I usually post pics of my cats or complain about the heat, we don't really stick to one topic and it's a nice place to be when the MT gets too much. Let me introduce you to my cat, Susan. She's in here a lot as she's a big personality and a funny looking face.

The Grand National always divides opinion. I know some vegans who go to Aintree - it's odd but depends how well you educate yourself on the subject.

For a few reasons, I went to a lesser known Hillsborough memorial today. I pass it often, and since Mother Kebab died I sometimes stop there for reflection. The MT chat on football reminded me of the date, and today felt like the right time to visit.
It's 96 oak trees given by Nottingham council. A quiet and lovely place.

Hi Susan, you’re beautiful.
I’d show you my pooch but he is very 🔺🔺
There aren’t many of his breed around and he has quite a distinctive name too so I’ll keep him off here but he says hello!

@Switchstreetz there's normally a perfectly explicable egg in hot cross buns to enrich the dough but as I am a committed vegan I did not include it, thanks for making me think about hot cross buns with full on chunks of hard-boiled egg in though  Since you have conveniently provided your address I will send some buns to 1 Switch Streetz, Tactically Grunking. Can confirm they are very fluffy but could do with some more mixed spice.

If I'm going to be waving my big vegan flag anyway I might as well add that horse (and greyhound) racing are an absolute no from me and I don't know anyone else who supports it either. To me it seems impossible to reconcile true ethical vegan beliefs with the commercial exploitation of animals for entertainment. If you don't subscribe to the whole lifestyle, you're not vegan, you just follow a plant-based diet.

Gosh, Vlad. Just because I hearted a pic of two adorable little fuzzlets there's no need to throw 'doggo' parties in my face.
Honestly though, people are struggling with rising food and fuel prices. Even if I had a dog and the money I wouldn't pay for this, they'd get a special snack and maybe some extra cuddles on their birthday.

That's a lot of money! We get Fred a posh biscuit for his. He'd honestly be so upset about doggy cosmetics, that it would just ruin his day. I gave him a bath before work, and that certainly didn't impress him 😂

Just seen ScoMo has called an election for May 21st, so time to get ready to spoil your vote Aussie contingent!
