Hi. First time poster, long time lurker

Erim posted a story a short while ago and it must have touched on the 'fact' that she didn't have any females to help guide her growing up.

I responded with a list of people she could have had.. 'Bibi? Massi? Godmother? Cousins? Teachers at school? Friends?'

Her response was to report my comment with no response to correct me. I couldn't think why she would do that, so I would love your interpretation Shadcat.

My parents were always working so other than my period, my mum didn't really have time to teach me anything. In fact anything I needed to know, I learnt from TV mainly, friends or cousins. This is what bought me here. It's so sad that Erim grew up without a mum, but in my mind, living in a western developed country with so much information out there, I find it hard to believe that she had no female to ask for help or support.

Okay so i've been reading this thread for a while and i'm honestly just baffled. I've known the family for a long time (its a big family) and I honestly feel a bit offended that she'd claim to have no female figures in her life growing up. This isn't true at all. Yes her mum died when she was young and it was very tragic, and i will say that her mum was actually a wonderful woman. Her dad has always been pretty well off and has always spoiled her, her brother Kian keeps to himself and is genuinely an okay guy. I'm just shocked at how many lies this girl has told.

exactly, I absolutely adore my mother but she had an undiagnosed mental illness growing up (she’s much better now) so she wasn’t exactly maternal or present. It was mainly my dad who raised us and I couldn’t go to him with girly issues. My sisters and I learnt things from the television or from other girls at school.

Losing a loved one must be so so hard and I can’t even imagine the pain of that. But a lot of us have also grown up without mothers and idk it’s painful too when you’re mother is alive and well and just doesn’t want to know.
