I don’t think this is a particularly hot take as it’s something we all already know but I would just love to start a conversation around this as I think Emily is a great example of the power of beauty in our society. Her recipes are ok, but nothing groundbreaking. Her biggest pull and greatest marketing tool is her looks. I don’t believe for a minute she would be nearly as popular without her blonde blown out hair, ultra white teeth and glowing skin. She’s selling her recipes to us as though we need to eat what she’s eating and consume the supplements she’s promoting to look like her but in no world would we ever achieve that without Botox, filler and makeup. It just feels like pure trickery and I’m so over it.

@sorrypardonme what is the point on your posts? No one here needs to justify anything to you. You can say “don’t look” about any of the thread on tattle. “I can chose not to look or click” is the worst argument for these influencers. I followed Emily for ages, and then got sick of the undeclared ads, the shady content where she was promoting stuff she didn’t use, the fakery of it all and even a gifted (undeclared!) engagement ring ffs! Why should they get away with it, especially when there are impressionable people who believe it all. Plus she is just really annoying 🤣 It is a place to comment on all of this - make a rave thread if you want and let the rest of us get on with what we want which is discussing all of the above on here and calling out the bullshit 🤷🏼‍♀️

Okay I love her recipes and make them a lot but do agree they’re expensive! I don’t actually think she is into health, I think she’s into being very slim and making money from her followers. However I wish I had not seen her boyfriend. 🤢🤢🤢 what in the Andrew Tate. How can you dislike someone just by seeing their social media 😂. But it is me with him

'I rarely post this many stories from a restaurant' said Emily on her 364th consecutive day of 'reviewing' a restaurant that she pretends she pays for and rates 20/10 - does she believe her own random story telling 😂

Love how she had to emphasise it was a private bbq lest anyone think she had to socialise with Tricia and Phil from Hull

I’m starting to think Emily is far more problematic than I initially would have thought. Her conflicting advice and behaviours are concerning, seems when there is money to be made or a way for her to grow her platform, any convictions go out the window.

I think the presence and position she’s taken as a nutritionist and wellness professional frames her in a different way to the bog standard fashion, beauty or lifestyle influencer. However, I think Emily’s content and drive has shifted more toward the latter but she’s still holding the status and audience of the former. I think she would be best suited to the space of the beauty/fashion influencer and leave the nutrition/wellness to better intentioned professionals that do not have dollar signs at the forefront of their minds.

Also confused how you manage to set a wedding date when you get engaged a day or two before Christmas when places will either be too busy to respond to enquiries or closed until after the New Year.

I followed her for a long time, tried a lot of her recipes and recommended her to lots of my friends. Was very surprised to see her advertising an ultra processed food this week and made a complimentary comment about her usual delicious food and surprise at the UPF flogging. My comment and any other questioning the use of a UPF, which is well documented as detrimental to health and constantly in the news recently, were all deleted. Commented my dismay re her deletion of comments and it got me blocked. Zero respect for her now and ultimately she’s shown her true colours. She couldn’t give a damn about health and nutrition, she’s just after insta fame and bucks as modelling didn’t work out for her. Disappointed in myself that she had me fooled up until now.

Have to be honest, following Emily’s recipes, 3 meals a day, no snacks, I’ve gone from having binge eating disorder to losing 3 stone. My skin is glowing, I never get wild sugar cravings like I used to, and I love how everything is full fat, lots of variety, lots of vegetables and TASTY! Yes it is expensive, but after years of battling with an eating disorder, trying every diet under the sun, I’m finally in a good place, and I have her to thank. So yes I’ll spend silly amounts on my food shopping every week if it means I’m happy and healthy lol.

Personally, I don’t follow influencers expecting everything they do to be relatable to me. The obvious work she’s had done, the constant eating out, even the fancy kitchen and set up she has. The ads are SO ANNOYING, but I just scroll past as that’s not what I follow her for? Or her weird boyfriend. One minute she promoted the pond water stuff then stopped. There’s definitely inconsistencies with her content and what she says but compared to a lot of other health accounts/nutritionists I don’t find her entirely offensive.

Another girl I follow just an FYI who has great recipes similar to Emily’s is Georgia May Salamat and Sohonutrition 😊

Glad there is a thread on her!
I actually like her recipes and it does make a nice change having actually tasty looking meals. she does seem to be able to cook unlike half the fitness influencers who throw whey protein into oats and call it a “recipe”.

but the last few months the amount of ads is just unbearable. She keeps playing the “I’m a nutritionist card” (is she actually?) but then recommending every powder, supplement, protein, tea under the sun. Clearly all for quick cash now which is disappointing.

her bf gives weird vibes. both of them give off a new money vibe, flashing cash and designer outfits but without much class. I notice they eat out at fancy hotels and showing off with expensive champagne and cigars all the time. But just gives off chavs with money vibes with their fake tan and her face full of filler taking selfies around these places in london.

I know I’m supposed to be happy for her, but all I can think is

“Why would you post the whole video of such an intimate moment”
“What does it say about you that your boyfriend knew you would want to film something so private”
“Why are you screeching NEARLY perfect when he compliments you like your ego can’t take it”
“Lab diamond or moissanite?”

Sorry to be the outlier but I find it all so disingenuous, look at the number of camera angles, I’ve never had a life changing moment and thought to myself ooh best move the camera tripod around. It’s beyond cringe worthy. I get that they want the happy laughing candid photo that so many post but what this actually is, is two people stood in an empty room taking selfies, at a moment in time when they should be focused on each other instead of their brand. If I was a fly on the wall watching two people get engaged then immediately start moving around the empty room posing I’d think they were raging narc bellends 🤷🏻‍♀️

M&S are just as bad at jumping on a bandwagon though. Gut health is trendy so they’ve brought out a gut health shot in partnership with Zoe, for the bargain price of £2 a day, all in a single use plastic bottle. They’re made for each other.
