My mother has a jab appointment for next week. I’m
Surprised it’s so quick.

She is worried.

What’s the risk here?

I’m guessing long term impacts which we won’t know about yet.

Has this happened with other vaccines?

Also, where do you stand if you refuse it?

Can you book another one later on or are you blacklisted.

It’s a lot to think about. Or is it?

What has started? Patients have always been moved between hospitals depending on capacity or specialist care.
The media reporting this out of context. Is what I meant to it has started. I agree patients have always been transported to the most appropriate hospital. The fact that Bristol is the opposite side of the country to parts of Kent and there are no nearer beds is a shock to me.

Stats for today ☝🏼 Adding in the disclaimer that again, via date of death there is no rapid rise in deaths and these are looking to be remaining stable currently.

ETA: Positive tests by date of specimen look like they are potentially levelling off as well, no huge increases for the last 10 days.

If risk is your primary concern, then I’d weigh that up against what the risks would be if your mum contracted Covid.

The high deaths the last few days have been in part due to the reporting lag but I hope there is some truth to more young people testing positive recently or we are in for a bleak Jan. Recent deaths reflect cases about 20 days ago and 3 weeks ago we were only hitting under 25k cases.

Livid. Just heading out for my solo walk before it gets dark and there’s my neighbours entire extended family traipsing into a tiny 1 bed terraced house, laden with champagne, food and children. Stood and watched them going in shaking my head, they all avoided eye contact with me. (Tier 4)
I just went into town to get a few last minute things (read wine) and there was a group of about 40 young people outside a pub drinking takeaway drinks, no distancing etc . Police have been patrolling around my flat for the whole afternoon/evening but seemingly not in the centre

This goes back to an earlier point I made - I realise Boris and co are Muppets, but try as they might, they can't stop the idiocy and pure selfishness of a minority, who seem to think this is all one big bleeping giggle!

we've all made sacrifices; we've all tried to follow the rules; we've all thought Hancock and co were clueless dicks, but when you see many examples of this going on up and down the country, it does make you wonder "why bother?" And the even more annoying thing is that these cretins will be demanding their vaccines asap because they're the "entitled ones!"

I suppose we won’t see the outcome of these 50k cases for a few weeks yet. Could be grim.

I’d try and jiggle this appointment if you can. You need at least 14 days between the two and your consent form will ask for the date of your last vaccine.
Oh it won’t be 10 days exactly, I haven’t been given a date or time yet, that’s just when our home will start the rollout. Just feels good to know it will be happening soon as I waited ages for the flu vaccine.

I hope anyone planning a party tonight gets so drunk that they end up pissing and shitting the bed, twice.

I'm fed up to the back teeth if friends and family doing as they please. It seems that some have just decided to make their own household bubbles of say 4-5 households... though some have also travelled out of tier 4 to spend new year with family. Boils my piss. Husband said I need to stop thinking about it. I can't control them v true I suppose. Just wish they were held accountable.

There's needing to bend the rules for an emergency or due to somebody really suffering with their MH but it's quite another to just be so ignorant to to all and to have been living like this for months.

Also this in the Indy... even if we do 'lockdown' i.e. everything tit it might not help....

At my secondary school were all expected in on Monday as usual (in full business attire).

Here, pink eye is listed as a symptom. I've seen some people say their eyes also really hurt. Like a strange feeling.
May I ask where you are? I’ve looked for advice online but have not seen pink eye listed as a symptom of Covid? Interesting how different countries determine what symptoms could be indicative of the disease. I do have pink eye and just feel a little run down but no temperature, cough... etc.
