I know the banks defo look at the longevity of your career when applying for a mortgage regardless of savings.. for example a sports person will only get a mortgage for the length of time they are expected to continue playing / competing at a professional level. Not sure how Ellie could prove her career will still exist in 20 years time?! Unless she gets a very small mortgage!
