I think it's just another IG trend (he hates an IG Trend!) that he wants to jump on. His leader and her other high follower sheep have all been doing seasonal decorating (because they don't have an individual thought of their own, probably love some US home accounts so had to copy despite it not being a 'thing' here) so he cannot see green cheese. I'd also imagine for him, Autumn blurs into Xmas now. There is no December to him, every month ending in 'ber' all just becomes the Xmas period, but putting up a tree just now isn't really acceptable on IG, but put up fake plastic leaves and hideous tacky pumpkins and slowly he can probably morph over to bringing out ridiculous hot choc stations and then start pulling out the tree and new theme decs that he has been talking about since BEFORE last Xmas. The sad thing is, his Xmas displays aren't even worth the 13 month hype! His decorations are cheap and tacky, but not in the good cheap and tacky way trees used to be (my gran's tree is the best collection of random ornaments which all mean something collected over decades not whatever B&M are stocking this year or theme IG has dictated so done as cheap as possible as next year will require different colours), but like really badly put together. I honestly think my 4yo niece & nephew could dress a tree better.
Anyway, I am a Grinch, so my thoughts are biased. But before I swerve back in my lain, that is why I think he's jumping on the ridiculous Autumn IG Trend. Hates IG trends so much he is willing to get this one over and done with early so he can move on to his favourite one! We don't have kids, and with our work schedules and not typically hosting a lot at ours, we usually don't even bother with Xmas decs (if the younger kid relatives are coming around close to Xmas we may make an effort to put up a small tree for their benefit), they have even less visitors than us it seems, so who are they doing/wasting money on it all for other than IG Bots and the fake huns?

I don’t know about you lot but I could not be arsed decorating my house for autumn. All my energy is spent fighting over the heating with hubby (who is a tight bastard) and trying to work up enthusiasm to think about Xmas. The thought of dead leaves all over my house fills me with dread!!!
