Maybe I'm just being dim but what was the point of that video apart from to sell the beauty tool?

I'd understand if it included a before and after but it was like watching QVC or something.

At least in most over videos there's other stuff to distract you from the fact they are trying to sell us crap.

I owe quite a few beauty devices (had a tripollar for about 10 years whch is also RF).
i would NEVER buy some random device gifted to an influencer that doesnt specialist in the subject and understand the science by actually reading the studies. They can also sometimes have adverse effects and RF can cause fat loss on the face if they get too hot (not an issue for becks lol). It really cheapens the brand and makes it really questionable to me. These kind of devices are not only expensive but they take a lot of time to invest in.

Unsure what the brand is called as they said it differently every time.

"Comes in this lovely, well, almost like presentation box" - it's a black box with gold writing on!
"Would make a great little gift maybe" - you buy me a dildo shaped thing for ironing my face, we'll be having words!
"Free diffrunt settins"

I gave up after that.

The 🍆 shape, every time she was holding it 🤣🤣🤣
She was just reading whatever was in the instructions, like that other vlog she did a while back with some company offering help with mental helf.
Does everyfink to grab freebies and the delusion continues.

Totally agree with you. At least do a 'daily routine' video and sandwich in her using the device or something. It's still a cash grab but at least slightly more respectful to her viewers.

But more fool brands who have looked at any of her videos and thought 'that's a great brand ambassador' - she has no knowledge, can barely pronounce things and the minute she's pocketed the money, drops the products like a hot potato. Good luck to them.

I'm perplexed at why she was picked to promote this overpriced anti ageing device! She's literally just about to turn 30! And as for mummy Wendy, don't think there's any hope for her! Damage is done! Are these brands stupid!
In all honesty, when I see most influencers flogging a brand, it puts me off straight away! And makes me even less likely to purchase it! Because I know most of them wouldn't use this stuff unless they were being paid for it.
I finally heard back from Wild. Don't want to say too much on here as I know Becky reads here - but they promise to investigate. The frustrating thing is, they acted all shocked and unaware that people they've been collabing with regularly promote shein, temu and a bunch of other unstainable/unethical brands! Not sure I'm buying their ignorance, but if it's true - do they not think to do their research!

Why did you contact Wild?

Because she was using their deoderant, it was either gifted or the video was sponsored by them. They say they are all about the environment and sustainability, eco warriors etc. So it seemed completely bonkers that they'd work with somebody like Becky who clearly doesn't give a tit about the environment, as she regularly promotes Shein, Temu, and loads of other fast fashion brands. It pissed me off, so I told them so!

That makes sense.

Slightly off topic but I think Wild are a fake eco conscious brand. They promote sustainability yet they send influencers there products and you know once the deal is over they are 100% never picking up that deodorant again. They also released all these limited edition cases which kinda goes against their minimal waste stance.

Rant over.

Agree. I used to think they were really good and I liked the products - but now starting to question their 'mission' .

It seems to be that some companies (Wild, BetterHelp, SquareSpace to name a few I've seen) are now choosing to invest huge amounts of money solely into influencers as a marketing strategy - I suppose, forgoing the cost of billboards, TV/online ads and instead pumping that money into sending box after box to as many influencers as possible. Pebbledash the influencer market with crap and pick up a few sales that way.

I get it, this is how the 'youth' shop these days, but I really do wonder how well it works. I know from my own daughter she's just as suspicious about influencer-promoted products. And certainly when a brand like Wild throws products out to influencers that simply are the opposite of their eco-friendly, sustainable brand... it says a lot

100%. They literally sponsor people like Brogan Tate and Disney vloggers who fly long haul every few months and buy non-stop. They dont actually care about the environment at all, they just read a study saying younger people shop more consciously and ran with it.

for me, to see brands so willingly give expensive products to micro influencers, it says the products are actually cheap and it’s all gimmick

Can't help but speculate that the reason she uses men's deodorant is not because of the scent but more like she needs the extra strength of a man's deodorant.
