Piers Morgan interviewing Laura Wray

Fiona : "I was head hunted by Laura Wray who wanted a solicitor specialising in employment law'
Laura: "I gave her a job as a trainee solicitor, answering phones on our accident helpline - she lasted two weeks"

Fiona : "I walked out of the job"
Laura: "Fiona was walked out of the office and spent days shouting and screaming in the street outside of our office"

Fiona : "Laura didn't file an interdict, she messed it up. I went to file a country-wide interdict myself". Piers: "Laura said she filed an interdict against you". Fiona : "That's nonsense"
Laura: "Interdicts are only applicable in Scotland. I took out an interdict against Fiona to leave myself, my husband and family alone"

Fiona: " I am suing Netflix for million's of pounds"
Laura: "If she gets any payment from Netflix, I will sue for defamation" (LOL - brilliant idea Laura ;) )

.....she's suing for 'intentional infliction of emotional distress'........how many victims has she had?

The series portrays Gadd fantasising about sex with Martha.....it didn't happen in real life.....he can argue that it's 'artistic licence'

It's been confirmed she lives in social housing on benefits.....so, what has she lost monetarily ?

She stated in the Piers interview that Martha was not her as she didn't send 41,000 emails, voicemails, tweets and text messages - then states it might have 'been one email and 14 tweets'

I hope it gets thrown out and she gets nothing. I can only imagine what a nightmare the lawyers are finding her to deal with. She’ll be telling them their job!

Well people did encourage her by seeking her out and giving her loads of attention - so this shouldn’t come as a surprise. And no, I still don’t think people HAD to go and look for her.
I doubt anything will come of this, all she wants is to inflict more pain on her victim. And yes, I still believe she’s a stalker and did an equally horrible version of what is depicted in the show. I always knew, because I’ve watched television before in my life, that not everything in the show was supposed to be an exact replica of what happened. That didn’t make me doubt that a LOT of what we saw was true.

I've just seen an excellent post on social media. Baby Reindeer is the 'true story' of Donny Dunn - ie, a 'fictional character'.....Gadd has used bits of his life to tell Dunn's story........I hope Netflix lawyers will use this argument! Fiona's victims are the ones who have the right to sue HER

Where was her housing etc confirmed? I knew it anyway from the pictures she posted but would like to see where it was confirmed?

A fictional character can’t have a “true” story though. That’s an oxymoron surely

It's very clever of Gadd and Netflix. Martha was sent to jail in Donnie Dunn's world.......not Gadd's

The litigation against Netflix would have to go ahead over here I believe - so, won't be televised

No but we would likely get live reporting similar to the Wagatha Christie trial. 🥳

And I could well imagine her turning up and behaving outside court like Stephen Bear did and enjoying the limelight.

I think if it goes ahead this case (whoever “wins”) may well end up being a landmark one in terms of how much people can can get away with artistic license on a show that is portrayed as a “true story” and whether or not fictional character aspects are acceptable.
