Kevin has applied for restitution for all 4 of the minor children. Quite right as A and J, will need some serious de-hacking to shed some of the Connexions way of thinking and it certainly seems like J was witnessing some of what was happening with R and E.

kevin should have fought for his custodial rights before this went so far

I’m unsure what you mean? He’s been fighting for custody since almost day one? But the state, rightly, has challenged him. There’s still a lot of unknowns, and Kevin will have had to prove he’s able to step up and care for all of them. He’d not seen them for 14 months so it would have been unethical for DCFS to just hand the children back. Caring for one deeply traumatised child is hard, but caring for four, with your own trauma. Almost impossible.

As soon as Ruby kicked him out he should have fought rather than being absent from his children’s lives for over 1 year

I agree, he let the children be with her. Imo he should have done way more before and imo can't really be trusted

He was still trying to get back into the group even after the arrest. That man needs to be kept far far faaaaar away from those kids he was almost as bad as her, he just kicked out before it got even worse but we all know he would of also done the same as the other two and would of seen no wrong in it.

I am 100% not Kevin’s biggest fan but it’s a hell of a leap to suggest this would have happened with him as well. He should have got custody but like many of Jodi Hildebrandts clients they were all brainwashed. They’re not blameless, not by a long shot. But a lot of the issues start and end with Jodi.

Did it really start with Jodi???? He was doing quite questionable things way way waaaay before Jodi. They're all cut from the same cloth. He would never of had custody because he was actively trying to be accepted back into the house with all that going on. Everyone in that family including him knew.

Those children would be completely failed by the system going to him. He tried to get his own daughter who was caring for his children arrested over a diary. What a nice father.

He was doing questionable things with Ruby to the kids as seen on their YouTube channel, but even a lot of that was under the influence of Jodi, as she was their and Chad’s therapist, for several years before they stopped vlogging and connexions began. There have also been several other men who have come forward and said that Jodi used the same tactics during their marriage therapy sessions, separating the father from the family, accusing the fathers of addiction to porn and even accusing them of SA’ing their own children, all fabricated. I really do think it did start with Jodi, and heavily enabled by the Mormon Church. Although Kevin and Ruby are terrible people for exploiting their children on YouTube in the first place. They certainly had no respect for the kids privacy or feelings. And they earned millions, that the children have not seen a penny of.

Kevin would have handed the kids over to Pam if police let him take A and J that first night, maybe the first several interviews. He came to the police station to collect them as some unknown person called him to tell him to go get them. He almost signed over the house to Ruby just before. He had a connexions minder. Jodi was involved back when C sent to wilderness camp. They went on a video explaining about the camp and the bean bag telling us experts told them to do this. ‘Ha ha, you are all so dumb’. Commenters told them to get another expert.

Kevin is trying to get money back from Jodi. He applied for custody of the 17 year old. He did that in conjunction with blocking the sale of Jodi’s home cause the kids all will need therapy. He needed to be on paper trying to get one in order to have standing to ask the court to hold her assets. Keven and Ruby took from the kids to give Jodi money. S is out over 100K suddenly missing from her account before she left for college. It was an oh well moment. Viewers concerned. Jodi got S banned, the extended family out of the way and finally Kevin and C out of the house so they could do their worst to the little ones. The little kids had to be homeschooled and kept from the rest of the family and viewers by this point the channel shut down, so they would not have to deal with CPS, interference. Jodi did the same isolation technique to a niece. Viewers saw the kids more recent than the aunt and grandparents. In the U.S. you don’t have to give grandparents and aunts or sibling access. I am sure Kevin wants control again. But I think he is just using the kids to get at Jodi‘s money to get some of his money back from her. The kids were not tied up when Kevin was in the picture, or the aunts and grandparents, or in public school. The neighbors told shari the kids unattended for days. She called police with the family aware of stuff like that. The family helped S get a soft landing when cut off. This is Utah they left S when a teen alone with 5 kids for days while they left the country before/during Covid. Pam needing to collect a 16 year old at work and another teen for the afternoon made no sense. Their grandma had a salsa video this was not a skill they needed day of. All the police videos of them finding J and A at Pam’s, the early interviews with Kevin, and the pair and jail phone calls are public record and all over the internet. So interesting. Even the footage of R getting help help from neighbor and ambulance public record in internet. So glad the squad car got to the house before Jodi as they were outside and she realized he got out and was looking for him. On call to her lawyer the business one not criminal when police came and she took eons to open the door. All that on tape.

Jodi should never get out. I fear for the inmates that she is around. Ruby should not get out until all kids 18. Kevin should get to visit but not get custody of kids.

Jodi found the perfect family with Franke’s. They had a million viewers. Perfect for her little MLM coaching thing. Since Kevin worked at a church school she could get away with threatening the family to disclose to the church he had a made up addiction and he would be immediately disciplined or fired if she didn’t get her way. She already ruined another family by doing the same. She saw a couple and whether true or not if she felt like treating P addiction that day, one of them would have a P addiction. When they wanted to change therapists and their money going elsewhere she would threaten to tell church on them. And she did and lost her license a bit. You want to lose standing in the community, your calling which is always public, your job for those with jobs connected to the church? Your family because of all that? So people stuck. The church schools and the church missions the kids go on you agree to tattle on your companion, classmate, teacher, student. If they are sinning. Or breaking some rule. Jodi was collecting $900 from C every month at 17 working part time to pay for it himself. The kids should sue both Ruby and Kevin IMNSHO.

I suddenly remembered a disturbing comment Ruby made about E in one of their videos. I think E was around 5 at the time and Ruby was saying that E had been climbing trees and had torn her t shirt, she then continues by saying "She's our wild child, we keep her in the closet" and laughed. That comment is even worse now we have seen where E was found and what was happening. Abuse was going on the whole time they had that YouTube channel for all to see, i reported several of their videos, even sending specific time stamps of videos to YouTube where certain things were said or done that caused concern. I really do believe these children would have died if R hadn't had escaped and gone to the neighbours that day, their injuries were so severe. I am worried about how much trauma these children will carry too and as you said there is a risk they could develop certain disorders from the abuse and trauma. These poor children 😢
Ruby and Kevin dehumanized 3 of the kids on the channel for years. Not only did Kevin whisper in E ear what to say at testimony meeting about being a thief they taped it and put in on the channel. She just repeated the words he said for her to say. It was right in their him telling her what to say and her parroting it. I had a problem with stealing. I no longer have a problem with stealing. It like they have to imagine something they have to overcome and then confess the thing and the recovery to their church? I was thinking why is he trying to have us see his little girl as a thief..? I really I doubt the child too young for age of understanding was a thief. Her mother was a thief constantly wandering about the house and car tossing things the kids had. Homework, pens, clothing C had none in the closet when he got back from that awful camp. She would go in a room with nothing more than a bed and blanket and pillows on it and open the closet doors and declare something cluttered on a shelf in the closet and toss it. On the shelf for pity sakes. Not even on the floor. So weird. Her closet full though. I think C and R and E often dehumanized on camera. I worry what they did to J and A as it was so bad it was hidden. S I think treated the best. Except for her money missing… I think the shaving the head another example of dehumanizing. Her papers suggest those kids lucky to be alive and thank goodness R‘s attempt to run away finally successful. He kept trying. Not the first time.

The church needs to say connexions not affiliated yesterday. They used their membership to get other members to give them money. Usually the church is public about casting such people aside. When anyone can talk in church everyone becomes experts of everything and nothing. It’s why several people though they could handle someone who said was schizophrenic and suicidal and talking to demons. Also her not being cured could cause them all financial ruin as they had money riding on her with the MLM. Coaching pyramid. Good night.

So sharks coming out with a book, you know it’s going to do well, I hope it helps her somewhat heal,
I still wonder why the kids never went to extended family, maybe not r and e as they’d need specialist help to overcome the trauma of what they’ve been through, but here they’d go to immediate family first, why have the grandparents or other aunts never stood forward for them

The grandparents heavily support Ruby and hope that the children forgive her some day which is an awful way of thinking. She left the youngest two close to death and the youngest two and their older siblings all have psychological trauma. The Aunties still vlog so it would be a child protection issue to place them in a home where cameras are filming most of the day and they don't need to be exploited anymore than they were before when Ruby had her channel. I want them to be with someone who understands them, who will support them properly and who won't preach a load of lies to them or force them to forgive their abuser. We have to remember Ruby's family are heavily religious, they believe in forgiveness and redemption, Ruby's parents believe that she should be forgiven, even by the children she nearly killed and left traumatised, so does Ruby's sister Ellie, she's very much on the grandparents side. I will definitely be buying Shari's new book as I want to hear her story in her own words without it being twisted by journalists.

I’ve been listening to Shari’s book on Spotify. You can hear the pain in her voice is some places. Utterly heartbreaking

I’m absolutely gripped by her book. I’m horrified at how useless Kevin was at protecting his children. Also it’s clear Ruby was abusive way before Jodi came on the scene!

About 2/3 through Shari's book. It's absolutely shocking and she's inspiring. I do think she's far too kind towards Kevin.

I'm just reading the guardian article, is it just me but I don't think the mum came across as a nice person in her videos? Obviously she was even worse behind the camera but I was always shocked at what she did show
