I sympathise with her a bit on the periods issue. I've been to the doctors a couple of times over heavy periods and you do get a sort of "Thats just how they are" type thing. She definitely used a buyers agent. I remember it very clearly as they had it under offer pre pandemic and for some reason she was extremely shady about timing.
If her periods are that bad she needs to see a gynae. No idea why she’s begging for it, as Ant’s private health care will cover her visit to more or less anyone she likes.
I had a similar thing today actually when I went for advice for period related migraines and pain etc and he was like lol soz gotta just deal with it nothing I can really do. Ah the joys of having periods!!!!!!I sympathise with her a bit on the periods issue. My Dr told me this causes no harm at all to your body - you either release an egg or you don’t, it doesn’t cause damage to not do it from month to month (assuming you are on a certain type of pill)She claimed to have a smear a few weeks ago surely she would've mentioned it to the nurse/doctor then?
i used to travel loads for work so I take my contraceptive pill continuously so I don't get a period - job doneI'm sure someone's going to tell me that's bad, never been flagged by my doctor or gyno, I'm really not interested in dealing with periods when there's no need.
that was exactly why I was hesitant! I got the basic hipsters in medium flow which were 3 for £33 or something? I usually hate hipsters and like to wear high waisted knickers because I get so bloated so the first time I wore them I felt like my stomach was spilling out of them but now that I’m used to them, they are actually really comfy - they’re so soft and not too bulky. They just look like normal cotton knickers when I’m wearing them! The website says size down but I’m between clothes sizes so got the bigger size which are perfect - I think if I’d sized down like they suggested they wouldn’t have fitted me! I’m on the coil to stop my periods being so heavy so I can’t really vouch for the absorbency as mine are quite light at the moment (thank the lord)@littlewonder which style(s) did you get? The thing that puts me off trying period pants is that I don't like most styles the come in. My favourite shape of knickers is a classic bikini, and a lot of the period ones come in hipsters and shorts. I did actually got a pair of cheapo ones in Primark, but haven't had the chance to test them yet.

Yeah I’ve never been taken seriously about period issues, even though they made me severely anemic and I have other issues too that have just been brushed aside.I wouldn’t blame her for not mentioning her issues when getting the smear. I am pretty certain I have undiagnosed endometriosis, but no doctor will ever pay attention to my complaints about painful periods. It’s so hard to be heard about these issues. This year I am on a mission to find a doctor who will listen and help me address this problem as I’m sick of living with all of the debilitating symptoms.
And there are so many people out there with such and similar issues. It would so so much more if Zanna actually put some effort into talking about it, getting some experts involved etc. Instead, she just vaguely complains about it and gloats about the support pouring in and gets paid for a (let’s be honest) really shit and vague post.
I second modibodi for period pants. They have a huge selection of styles now. I got a set post-childbirth, and 4 years later, they're still in great condition. I even have a couple of their period swimsuits which although a bit ugly, are really helpful.I use ModiBodi and the basic package where you get 3x bikini, (light, moderate and heavy) are a good starting point. The heavy are thicker but not noticeably so.
I'm so sorry you're having trouble with your doctor. I had a male doctor who did not care at all- I would literally pass out in the street from pain and he'd just tell me i was "delicate". But I insisted on a new doctor, and she had me straight in for an ultrasound and got me on medication. Don't give up, ask to see different doctors, and keep a record of all the symptoms and "things you've tried" because they'll all suggest exercise and a bathI wouldn’t blame her for not mentioning her issues when getting the smear.
