It’s difficult to find a good curl specialist as most hairdressers seem to have been trained only in straight hair cutting. I’m not dexterous at all about cutting my own hair so made sure to do the simplest cutting technique on dry hair and ‘less is more’ approach. My daughter helped with tidying up my back to make sure it was all even.I have had a few disappointing curly cuts too, I now go to a local hairdresser who isn’t a curl specialist but cuts my hair dry and freehand and it’s the best cut I have ever had. I have been tempted to cut my own but am nervous after a few disastrous attempts in my teens
I am very conscious about my hair which has thinned out in my 40s and feel it doesn’t need anything complicated done to it. Over the years I’ve had some decent haircuts but also some that have been a total waste of money. I’m not trying to diss all hairdressers, but genuinely don’t think the money a haircut costs around here is worth the effort it takes to trim my hair.
