Just remembered back in 2009 I was working with an older lady, funny and ditzy as anything but with this peculiar habit of unknowingly predicting things. Nothing major, just mentioning someone’s name that we hadn’t seen in months and them walking into the shop like an hour later, or telling another colleague to be careful walking home and an electric cable blowing up under the pavement lifting the paving slab next to her!

Anyway, one of the weirdest ones that sticks in my mind was our colleague was excited to go see Michael Jackson at the O2 and the mystic meg one came out with something like, “God can you imagine if he died and all these concerts got cancelled!” and you guessed it, a few days later the world was reeling at the news MJ was dead!

My MIL used to go to a psychic and tried to talk to me into going. Well one time she booked an hour session with him (he was well know and very expensive and usually booked up for months). She asked me if I wanted to do 30 min with him and she would do 30 min with him. I agreed and went. This guy had white long hair and was very charismatic and easy to talk to. He started talking about my husband and how he was glad he turned out the way he did. His up bringing is a bit rough and he could have def turned out a criminal or on drugs. Anyways, we had been trying for a while to get pregnant and even took fertility meds to help with no success. So this psychic asked me if I had any questions and I thought let's test this guy since he doesn't know we have been trying. I asked him if we would have another child. He said if you want one you will get pregnant next year between January and July. I thought, ok this just confirmed to me that he is full of tit.
We stopped trying for a baby because we couldn't afford treatment and my husband said that maybe it was just not meant to be. I got pregnant the year later in February without meds or anything. This psychic died shortly after I got pregnant so I never had the chance to go back. I usually don't believe in stuff like that but he was spot on.

I wonder if it could have been because you were no longer "stressing" about trying? That can be quite common in women.

I had similar, went with my friend who was getting married to try dresses on, the owner who is a medium said to me your pregnant now! We laughed our heads off I didn’t want any children at all. A missed period & a test proved I was, we were so shocked.

Just remembered another, recently I was walking home from the school run with a friend, our kids were running ahead as we were in a playing field, we could see them the whole time. We saw a teenage boy approach them and noticed that my son grabbed his sister and put himself in front of her and their friend was shaking her head, we drew level with them and I asked if the kids were okay, the teenager laughed and ran off. Asked the kids what had happened and he had asked them to go with him, when they said no he said to my youngest go on, just you I'll buy sweets!! I ran after him and managed to get his name and address from another kid who knew him and took it to the police who said he was known to them but as he is only 12 they are restricted on what they do!

They also had a go at me for not holding their hand, it was a play area!!! I really don't understand to this day how our lack of hand holding in a play area was the crime that day!
Fuming for you. I would have gone round and knocked his mother out and said this will be you if you come near my kids again.

It’s not that creepy in comparison to some but here goes.. I was around 7-8 and in the street I grew up in everyone knew everyone, all the kids were friends and you’d smile in the passing. Anyway there was my house, then 2 houses next to us who we were very close to and then there was the 4th house. This house always had new people moving in and out so when someone new arrived we thought nothing of it. So the new tenants were a mum and her son who was around 19-20. At first they seemed relatively normal, well to an innocent child (me) anyway. The son would have the same friend visit quite a lot which again isn’t out of the ordinary for a teenager. Then the friend started asking myself and my friends if he could take us to the shop, I mean we jumped at the chance because who didn’t want a panda pop and a freddo in the early 2000’s? We never told an adult and we downed that drink and chocolate before we even got home. This is where i realised there was something odd. He’d often sit on park benches and just stare at us playing in the park, or he would climb the back fences of house 2&3 and say hi if we were playing in the garden. It seemed by that point that no matter where we went, he was there. The actual tenants son tagged along but didn’t do much. Anyway one day as we all walked home from the park which was down a hill at the top of the street, he appeared from the bushes with a knife shouting “I will kill you, I will chop your head of and your limbs, you’re not making it home” I sprinted, Ive never run so fast in all my life. I lost both my shoes, I couldn’t see for crying and shouting help. It wasn’t until I hit my street that he stayed back and stopped the threats. I told my gran & grandad everything, they called the police and I had to give a statement. He was arrested and turns out he was a sex offender. I hate to think what would have happened if I wasn’t so close to home.

I’ve always remember the MJ thing cause of my dad. The day he announced all those concerts my dad was driving me somewhere and it was all over the radio and my dad went ‘he’s never gonna do those concerts it just won’t happen’ and then he died. Never forgot that conversation.

Probably my first ever night out - I was 18 and very naive, never been out, never drunk before really, and on a night out with my work at the time. Someone bought me a few drinks and so I kinda felt obliged to kiss him (young and naive...) everyone I had come with left me so I couldn't get home anyway, a bouncer warned him to keep his hands where he could see them, a group of girls in the next booth asked me if I was okay when he'd gone to the loo and just laughed when I said no. When we left, he tried taking me down an alley but I got him to get me a taxi home instead... He was about 24 and knew I was way over my head so that was definitely a scary 'if I'd had a drink or two more, the night might have ended very differently (bad) ' kinda night!

A few years back I was supposed to go on a date with a handsome older guy...let’s call him Peter...and at the last minute I changed my mind and went on a date with another guy instead, who I ended up seeing.

Weeks later, I had a phonecall to tell me to look Peter up on Google...he’d recently been re-arrested for breaking prison terms...turns out he was a paedophile with a string of offences against minors in Thailand.

I’m quite lucky in that nothing overly traumatic has happened to me, but my heart hurts for all of you who have been subject to such horrible people!!

When I was younger (13-16) I was part of a Jaydio forum, I’d use it every single day and struck up some good friendships with other users. This was back in the days of webcams and MSN, and it was completely normal to webcam chat with other members all hours of the day. Anyway, there was one particular member that I was quite close to despite never meeting (I never properly met anybody through the site). We’d constantly video chat on MSN and we would text when offline, etc. One day he had to leave mid way through a MSN video chat and asked to leave the cameras on as he wouldn’t be long. I said sure, why not, as I didn’t think anything off it. So off he went and I carried on with my day. He came back and the conversation continued as normal. It was months later through another forum member I’d found out that he’d recorded my video and watched me get undressed and change my clothes (I was 14, he was probably around 17/18). He’d also sent the video to other male members. I was completely naive and felt so stupid afterwards! I’ve recently found out that in 2017 he was arrested for collecting child pornography and molesting a 14 year old boy in his car (now aged 28). Just awful and I’ve been creeped out even more since finding out!

I unfortunately have a lot of horrible stories from growing up. Im not the best at story telling but 17 years ago.. When I was 13, my parents sent me away for a 5 day long summer camp. It wasn’t something I wanted to go to but they wanted me to go and have fun and make friends instead of spending all summer inside.

There were around 30-40 kids there and ages were varied from 11-15 but there were a lot more younger kids than older ones. Being a teenage girl I started crushing on the boys there. There was this one boy (I’ll call him Ben) that all the girls fancied, he was one of the older kids at 15. Ben ended up ‘getting with’ this one girl (I’ll call her Sam).. It’s funny looking back on it as we were only at camp for 5 days/4 nights.. but I guess we were young.

The ‘thing’ with Ben and Sam had ended on the 3rd day of camp and he had started to a spread rumour about Sam being frigid. Being the naive, dumb young girl I was I still fancied this complete idiot and for some unknown flipping reason it didn’t deter me that he was clearly a grade A asshole.

Final night of camp we had a disco. And Ben knew I fancied him. He managed to drag me off away from all camp leaders and everyone else. He had me completely alone. My experience with boys prior to this was that I had only kissed one boy. So we were kissing. That was fine. But then Ben started put his hand down the front of my trousers and into my underwear. This wasn’t something I had asked for or wanted but I was too scared to stop him and I let him continue doing this because I didn’t want to be frigid like Sam. This probably happened for all of 5-10mins but I remember it feeling like it was never going to end. Thankfully (by some absolute miracle) a camp leader came by the room we were in and made us go back to the disco. They didn’t see anything as Ben heard them coming before they opened the door so he had stopped.

The next day we were all going home, Ben gave me his number and said to text him and stay in contact but I never did. The whole outfit I wore for that disco I refused to wear ever again and couldn’t stand to look at it. I kept it hidden at the back at bottom of my drawers until I had outgrown it and could throw it out without my parents questioning it.

Its real sad now to think how I was to scared to tell him to stop all because I didn’t want to be ‘frigid’.

In 2006 I was on holiday in San Fran with my family (mam, dad & sister), and we had booked to go to Alcatraz for a trip. We were stood in the queue & this lady behind us started talking to us, just small talk (where we were from, age etc.), she seemed nice and as she was alone she tagged along with the 4 of us on the tour. She kept asking me and my sister if we were on Bebo or had MSN (we were 11 and 12 at the time), so mam and dad quickly shot the conversation down & we left. Later that day we were walking around China Town...we saw her 3 separate times, and this was hours later. She was also with a man by this point, so we got a taxi straight back to the hotel.

mam & dad were completely freaked out, but as we were so young me and my sister though she was really nice. So naive

Some of these are stories are so scary! Unfortunately I have quite a few of my own.

One of them starting from as young as 7. I was at Blackpool Pleasure beach with my parents and bestfriend for my birthday. We were going to have our photo taken with the Bradley bear mascot. As I ran over to him to have the picture taken, he squeezed me really tight, and forced me into a hug. He then whispered into my ear in a really gruff voice, 'give me a kiss' before touching me down below!! I tried to pull away but he wasn't letting go and I remember my heart pounding and feeling sick with terror even though my parents and so many others were only a few feet away! Nobody noticed anything just thought I was giving the bear a cuddle. Anyway I never said anything but when I got home my mum had put the photo that id had taken with him in a frame and into my bedroom. I was really upset looking at it and ended up throwing it against the wall. The glass smashed so I had to clean it up quick before my parents saw. I cut my hand really bad cleaning it up and this made poor little 7 year old me even more upset about the whole thing!

Thanks for these replies, some people are actually terrifying.

I read the story on Mumsnet where the woman was at uni and saw a dark patch on her friend's bed and then found out the room the dark patch was in had been burgled and she reckoned she saw the burglar.

There are some good true stories on LetsNotMeet on Reddit. One story over in America about how a woman was on the phone to her boyfriend about to get in the shower and drops her phone by under her bed, she looks down and sees a man hiding under it and pretends not to have seen it so she goes in the bathroom and climbs out of her bathroom window. The police come to see the man waiting outside of the bathroom door with a knife in his hand.

There's a really creepy true story from the north of England off of Let'sNotMeet where a woman is followed home. I can't copy and paste as the story is too long but it's worth a read.

Thanks for this I've been on the let's not meet forum ever since and I'm hooked

It was somewhere between 1979-80 & myself & my best friend were in the 1st or 2nd grade. We’d walk the mile home from school on a quaint residential street. One day this man in a trench coat appeared, maybe walking behind us? I was taught not to talk to strangers. My friend maybe not so much. I just remember him being really friendly & there were just too many days that he was walking in the middle of us w/ each arm on our shoulder? Maybe he had good intentions, I can only hope. But I grew increasingly concerned & likely told my friend not to walk alone w/ him. The final image I have of him was him w/ his arm around my friend’s shoulder as they walked in front of me. Perhaps it was my staying back that day which made him realize that his friendliness wasn’t normal or welcome & we never saw him again.

I wish this was my only creepy story. Maybe I’ll share again another time.

I was living at home and think I was about 16/17. I heard someone come through the side gate and just assumed it was my Granddad as my mum had rung to say he'd be popping in. I walked round to the back door and opened it, this bloke was stood on the doorstep staring at me. He was absolutely huge with a bald head and wearing those mechanic overall things. I panicked and slammed the door shut and managed to drop the bloody key. I was trying to keep a hand on the door handle and trying to reach down to grab the key and then he started trying to shove the door open while shouting for his mate to help. I ended up wedging myself between the door and putting my feet against the tumble drier to stop him from getting in. He gave up after about 5 minutes and kicked down our gate on his way out, I was crying hysterically by this point thinking I was definitely about to be robbed or worse. I managed to lock the door after he left and grabbed a bread knife (only thing on the draining board haha) before calling the police.

The police came up the next day, they weren't at all bothered really. They confirmed that other people on the estate had reported a few men sniffing around their gardens etc. One woman had recorded them and took down their number plate. Turns out they were stealing designer dogs from people at knife point. We had two Corgi's at the time so reckon they may have been tipped off about where we live, very scary!

I was walking back to the metro with my friend from a local fair, we were around 14/15 at the time and there was this creepy man behind us. We came to a corner and he rushed past us, we walked round the corner and there he was penis out pleasuring himself, he reached out to grab my friend, who was a lot more feisty than 15 year old me, she threw the toffee apple she had in her hand at the guys head so hard she almost knocked the nasty perv out and we ran so fast to the metro never looking back. Needless to say we always accepted lifts from our parent after that.

This story made me too scared to go for a wee before bed (even with husband sleeping next to me 🙈) how horribly petrifying 😱
