Thanks for this! It’s interesting to hear how the country is doing

Surely they aren’t going to send students to Korea from all over the world in January still?!Especially if said students are already travelling internationally for Christmas right before...

I just saw on her story that she had a ‘hEcTiC’ time getting her visa sorted for Korea at 2am, what a total joke.
It’s honestly beyond irresponsible.
Students are currently allowed in. Mandatory 2 week quarantine though. That you have to follow. Breaking it involves fines, or potentially prison

You know she's going to be acting like Korean culture is just k-pop and k-dramas. I'll be shocked if she learns anything about traditional Korean culture and how to respect their traditions.

I remember she had a drama getting her US visa sorted for San Francisco last year too - i don’t think she is as organised as she thinks she is.

To be fair though, getting a room to themselves for a fortnight’s quarantine is probably going to seem quite luxurious to the students ...

But do they get a room to themselves or will it be the whole flat tougher like in Berlin when her two flatmates arrived from Brazil.

Or how they actually quarantine. I'm pretty sure in Berlin they all went out food shopping before they stayed in for 2 weeks.

Jade just needs to stop lying to herself. Everything is over the top. She prides herself on being authentic but her content is just so far from being anywhere near real. She’s forcing herself and her content to be something it’s not now.

No in Korea I’m pretty sure it’s a hotel quarantine. If you arrive internationally you get a police escort to a quarantine hotel and you are literally locked in (bedroom and bathroom attached) for two weeks. The only people you see are in full PPE and they deliver your meals 3x a day. That’s how it was for my friend who arrived in September anyway, she also had a little fridge.

Low key annoyed that she still gets to travel though. I used to travel all the time but not been anywhere in months, but of course she still gets to live her charmed life 🙄

Also I went to Korea earlier this year (very start of 2020). It is a cool place but I agree with others, she’s going to have to be careful about how she “fetishises” it. She’s been to Asia before so I hope she doesn’t have anything too narrow minded to say about being somewhere out the West but that doesn’t mean to say she won’t go full idiot with it. Might have to stop following, it’s like looking at things through the eyes of a child and not in a good way!

That's how it is where I live in Australia too. I hope Jade goes into hotel quarantine. Every country should have it. We were in lockdown at 700 cases and now we have eliminated the virus. I am hoping that South Korea does too. Wishing everyone in SK the best.

On a serious note, putting youngish people in that level of individual isolation and combining that with a crazy work schedule and no real routine sounds like a recipe for a wellbeing disaster. I do hope that the students get more support whilst quarantined than they seem to normally.

If you guys watch Sienna Santer, another study tuber she did a video on her mandatory 14 day stay in Korean hotel quarantine. The food looked really good lol. I bet jade has lots of content planned for those 14 days, I think Sienna’s video got a lot of views.

I hope Jade gets horrible culture shock and wants to go leave.,This will be the first place she can’t as easily prance around expecting everyone to know English! I can’t remember where they go after Korea now India is canceled but surely she’ll be over it by then.

I hope so too, but with the ridiculous attitude to health in general they don't seem like the kind of "university" to provide therapy etc like most (all?) other unis do

Her whole new video is tit lol. Sure, it's good to keep trying and have goals, but it's a very idealised and ableist mindset. I have dyspraxia and ADHD, I'm never going to be good at certain things because my brain won't allow it. Sometimes your ability is fixed.

Another vegan youtuber I follow vlogged her hotel quarantine in South Korea and she struggled with the lack of choice/lack of vegan food! It will be interesting to see what Jade makes of that

yeh exactly, yes you can improve at things but no matter what I do/train I am not able to become an olympic athlete, there is a certain extent to what things are "learnable" and what is natural

I am not vegan but would HATE not having any choice over my food for 2 weeks, eating was basically the highlight of lockdown and not being able to go out

omg i could not even get through that latest video.... all those meaningless slogans are so reminiscent of either a cult or an MLM (pretty similar imo)

Fr, I have ADHD too and it really effects my life so it really irks me when certain studytubers promote this idea that you can excel at anything if you just put enough work in, and maybe its true, but its going to be a hell of a struggle for the majority of people. It took me a long time to realise that it is far more productive and way less painful, to figure out what your natural skills are and really work on them instead. Thats how you make a success of yourself, not by trying to be perfect at everything
