Not sure if anyone else has read it, but Luisa Zuissman wrote a blog called Maybe Baby about TTC. I’ve just spent £70 on supplements on Amazon after reading it... lots of good reviews so hopefully they do make a difference!
I read her blog and bought the supplements. I’m now almost 20 weeks pregnant at the age of 43. It I conceived within 4 months of starting the supplements. Good luck to you x

Thank you! I’m going to start testing twice a day from today & track it on the premom app and Femometer app and see how they compare.
I was trying to get the full strip in the line cause I thought that’s what I needed to do but now I’ll take it closer. I didn’t realise there was so much to think about!
@Dipdab I think feelings of jealousy are completely normal! Another girl on my Facebook announced her second pregnant this week and I was the same, how is it fair they have a child already and I haven’t had my first yet.
Our time will come once lockdowns over hopefully it’ll be easier to avoid thinking about it! x
Agreed it’s a stab in the heart when you see others announce! I just try to remember that most of the time you have no idea how long it took them or what they went through. I’ve seen people have babies and been jealous then later found out they tried for years and had to have IVF that cost them thousands. Or lost two babies before their rainbow. If (or when I hope) I get to have my second, I know at least some people I know will be upset- like I am now- they won’t know the struggles I’ve had! Medical condition, months of trying but telling yourself you’re not ‘officially’ trying so it’s less upsetting when it’s been over a year if no contraception and still nothing, a looming fertility referral where i’m pretty sure i won’t be offered anything due to my weight, long cycles meaning instead of a two week wait we all hate it’s 50 days for me to wait between possible ovulations. I so wish that I could get a shot every month! And having a baby already brings with it a whole other host of feelings- you’re so grateful you have your wonderful child, guilty you feel you need more, that they aren’t enough to complete your family, guilty you can’t give them a brother or a sister, and that during lockdown they’ve been so alone. When baby number 2 comes- I feel so sad knowing some women will have their heart break a little, and even worse will be the assumptions that it was easy. For that reason I’m pretty sure I’ll be making no social media announcements or posts, and no big fanfare in the family..for anyone with these struggles it is such a lonely journey. Little groups like this help so much 💜

Not completely relevant but I’ve been told that my job is at risk of redundancy next year. I’m so gutted as it’s going to throw a spanner in the works with my baby plans! I’m all ready with my ovulation strips for our first proper month of trying and now I don’t know what to do ☹

A few people have said “don’t worry you’re only young” (I’m 27) but I’ve been waiting for this ‘right time’ for so long now I’m just so gutted. Part of me is tempted to just start trying anyway.
like you I’ve been waiting for “the right time” my partner has wanted for ages and I said we needed a bigger house, more money behind us, I needed to have been in my job longer, further in my career etc. Then I got a new job a year ago and despise it and can’t find a new one so I’ve been like I should wait for a new job then stay there 6months - 1 year before getting pregnant. Now this year I’ve realised life is too short and family is the most important thing and the only job I’ve ever really wanted is to be a mum. I’m also 27 and I honestly thought trying to not get pregnant was the hard bit. We’ve only been trying a couple of months but I was so naive and thought it would be pretty instant and then it kicks in if it doesn’t happen soon I won’t be a mum in 2021 either. Time ticks away from you and now I’ve been reading fertility declines from 27 I thought it was 30’s. Most of my friends are already mums and I’m feeling so old. If you want it just go for it life’s too short.

Thank you, I guess I just blame myself for the situations I was in and often think if I could turn back time I would do so many things differently. Good luck to everyone ttc. I guess also in our minds when we want something we analyse things more and also seem to notice more of what we miss or want around us.
That's the benefit of hindsight isn't it! Yes it's so easy to fixate on TTC, especially with lockdown and few other distractions. I find myself panicking about the silliest of things - "will I stop myself conceiving if I have a takeaway instead of a healthy dinner?" Honestly 😂

I really hate the two week wait. I wish we could find out the day after ovulation or something 🤣
In other news though, I purchased 50 eBay cheapies so I think it’s safe to say I’ll be testing daily even though it’s far too early yet. It’s literally like a serious addiction for me, I just can’t help it 😭

I experienced a early pregnancy loss a couple of weeks ago and was too upset to ask any questions at the hospital. Has anyone had the same? Looking for advice on roughly when my next period should arrive? And also how quickly we can/should start trying again?
Absolutely gutted as we were planning on telling our family on Christmas Day.
I’m so sorry for your loss. It’s utterly heartbreaking going through something like that 😔 I went through something similar in aug and it really effected my mental health so I really understand. I would just enjoy your partner and see what happens as there’s no harm in all the love making 💞 miracles do happen ✨ I’m currently 11 weeks but anxious AF about everything now! So so scared of my every move but also so so grateful 🙏🏼 Blessings to you lovely lady I hope you’re okay, and blessings to all you baby mumas trying. Your time will come 💞🙏🏼✨💞

Hi all,

Had my appointment today as its over a year. The doctor was so so lovely about it all. Gonna have a few tests and he's told me not to give up and I feel a bit better tonight.

I've thought about starting the opks again but they really stressed me out last time so not sure it's a good idea.
Anyone else stop doing them as they got stressed or obsessed?

Can I join you all? TTC #2. First cycle trying but I'm pretty sure I'm out as I've been spotting and AF due Tuesday. My first is almost 9 so quite a big gap.

Hey, unfortunately I can’t offer any advice but wanted to let you know I’m in a similar position. My Luteal Phase is at best 9 days (and that’s if I ovulate pretty much straight after a positive OPK so it’s probably more like 7-8 days), and I’ve read the same online about the NHS not recognising it as an issue and being reluctant to prescribe progesterone. Let us know what the Dr says. I hope this gets sorted for you 🤞. I would also be keen to know if anyone on here has had similar issues. I’ve got PCOS so not sure if that adds to this issue...
Aw thank you so much for replying. It means a lot and I am glad I have found this board where I can share at least some bits of my journey - I feel so isolated at the moment as I seem to be the only person I know going through this. My husband is really supportive and so is my Mum (who however lives abroad) but the limited stimulation/lack of distractions at the moment due to the covid19 make everything so much harder and I am finding I am spending so much time worrying and ruminating about all this :(

Quick update in case this could be helpful: I spoke with the Fertility GP - although they are nice and I am sure they mean well they were very dismissive. They said that even if I have a luteal phase defect there is 'no cure' and we cannot be sure about when I ovulated anyway (but I am!! I use multiple ways of predicting this and they all match, all the time). So after some consideration I have now booked a private consultation at the end of this week with a Fertility Consultant with great reviews. I have just finished putting all my paperwork together to bring to her ... will see what happens.. I am starting Clomid again today but I don't see the point of going through this with a luteal phase of 7 days..... will let you know what she says

Hi all,

just want to say a big thank you to those who offered support in my TTC journey. I took a step back this month and actually ended up getting pregnant for the first time. (test last night and this morning) 🥰🥰

When I was symptom spotting I came across old forums where people had listed their symptoms day by day up until positive pregnancy test. I know all bodies are different and a lot of people have completely different symptoms. But for any curious TTC buddies, I thought I would share my December TWW (where I really was convinced I must be pregnant) with my January TWW which led to a positive test. Please feel free to do the same with yours. Please also remember just because your symptoms might be different, doesn’t mean you’re not pregnant.

December

Ovulation day- lots of cramping and pain in ovaries all day

1 DPO on off cramping, really bloated, really creamy cm

2 DPO on off cramps and bloating still, firm breasts, lots of creamy cm

3 DPO back pain, cramping on and off, bloated, lotion like cm, tired

4 DPO not as much cm but cramping twinges on and off, still bloated

5 DPO on off cramping, stretchy cm, bloated, boobs really firm, struggled to sleep at night because of cramping in pelvis and back

6 DPO cramps, bloated, lots of creamy cm, dizzy and uncomfortable

7 DPO really struggled to sleep again pelvis and back sore, a lot of creamy cm with hint of stretchy, boobs especially right boob really full

8 DPO really strong period like cramps, pain in pelvis, hips and back, very uncomfortable, creamy watery cm

9 DPO cramping eased by really bloated

10 DPO cramping started again as twinges. Spotting in evening- light pink when wiped only.

11 DPO cramping easing but still spotting. Spotted all day mixture of pink, orange, brown and red blood throughout day.

12 DPO cramping easing off but still spotting

13 DPO occasional spotting

14 DPO period started.

January

Ovulation day- one of droplet of bloody cm in afternoon

1 DPO nothing to report apart from creamy cm. no cramping

2 DPO nothing

3 DPO nothing

4 DPO random dizzy spell but nothing else

5 DPO just sleepy and napped. Nothing else

6 DPO very slight pinching feeling and one wipe of spotting light pink cm

7 DPO no cramping at all, but light spotting when wiped and a bit in underwear.

8 DPO still spotting, not much but a bit in underwear. Light cramping

9 DPO bloating, light spotting in morning but stopped. Cm turned really wet and sticky.

10 DPO no more spotty at all or cramps. Cm dying down

11 DPO nothing to report, cm low

12 DPO big blob of creamy stretchy cm but it was also milk like. In the evening period like cramping began

13 DPO period like cramping, zero spotting, was convinced AF was going to come but instead just snot like cm, used a cheap blue dye test both came back positive right away.

14 DPO on and off cramping, really tired. Took a digital test and it is positive. Currently in bed shattered and wonder how I’ll cope for the next 9 months haha!

If this can be helpful to anyone in anyway I am glad.
Congratulations! I was wondering how you we’re getting on! ❤

Thank you for sharing this, very helpful! I’m trying not to track ovulation or symptoms this month as it was all getting a bit too much. The disappointment I was getting on AF day is becoming overwhelming. Fingers crossed I get relax a bit more!

So glad to find this thread!

I’m two years into the journey, had a range of tests and nothing is coming up as unusual.

stressed as fuck teacher which doesn’t help but I’m feeling so lost and disheartened with it at the moment. I can’t get it out of my head that I’m not getting pregnant because my body/the world or whatever knows I wouldn’t be a good mum.

I’m really struggling at the moment. I know I’ve got to lose weight to help with the PCOS symptoms but that mindset sets off my binge eating which I got from years of yo-yo dieting! It’s a vicious circle and just makes me feel so low. Sorry to be doom and gloom, I know there’s people a lot worse off than me! It’s just nice to have somewhere to write down my feelings! Also didn’t help that my mum made the comment “this should be motivation for you. You’ll be letting *partners name* down too if you don’t lose weight this time”. Ouch 🙄
