This is probably ridiculous but does heaviness of periods have any impact on fertility?

We’ve been trying for a couple of months and the last few months, including this time, my period has only lasted a day and a half and been light. Last month I actually wondered if it was an implantation bleed (obviously it wasn’t). It worries me that there wouldn’t be enough lining to support an early pregnancy and that’s partly why it hasn’t happened yet.

Am I just making worries for myself that don’t exist?

I got a faint line yesterday but the more I read about them the more I think it’s just an indent 😫 I’ve literally trawled net mums and google of similar posts with similar test lines and it’s 50/50 of whether they turns into something but they’re really bad for indents apparently so I don’t want to use them again.
haha oh god, I’d say your having some good signs then! I was the same in my last pregnancy when anyone was cooking bacon 🤣
Oh really! I’ve read the pink dye ones are better than blue but I’ll stick with another clear blue instead!
I had a faint line on Saturday but I don’t know if it was an evap line cause I left it 🤦🏼‍♀️
fingers crossed this would be my first! I’d cry if I couldn’t be around bacon cooking you know hahaha

This is a long one and I apologise in advance.

Had my implant removed at the end of June after being on BC for 6 years, we started TTC however my periods are yet to return so can't track anything. I know it can take time for everything to go back to normal.

We stopped trying at the end of October due to me having COVID and then suffering from long covid ever since. We had intercourse either 19th - 21st of December(brain fog and not really trying).

On the 31st December woke up feeling incredibly sick and really sensitive nipples(to the point where I wanted to be topless as it angered me if anything touched them 😂). I took a Boots test and came up a faint positive within 2 minutes of taking the test. Ever since though all tests have been negative. I will wait another week and retest.

Its difficult as with having long covid I am not sure if my symptoms could be hormone related or covid related. I am due to return to work next week for the 1st time in 2 months working for the NHS.
I'd definitely wait for your missed period and test again in a week.

I have Chronic Fatigue/M.E which I believe has been described similar to long covid and I'm the same as you symptom wise, also a ICU nurse, best advice for returning to work is just take it easy & get support in place from occupational health!

Period is now officially a day late.... currently hiding in the toilets at work trying to work up the courage to test! No AF cramps, but still hesitant that I've not caught!

Sorry I replied to the wrong post...was meant to be after @Sunshinegal
The receptionist said to tell me no further action from the doctor. They haven't tested dh yet though when they said they would. I'm just unsure what this means. I mean I guess it's good but with it being my first month Im unsure about the numbers if that makes sense.

I read her blog and bought the supplements. I’m now almost 20 weeks pregnant at the age of 43. It I conceived within 4 months of starting the supplements. Good luck to you x
Oh wow that’s great, congratulations! And thank you, I hope it works for me too x

Question girls if you can give advice, I’ve bought some ovulation tests to start this month if my periods finished yesterday when should I start using them?

I’ve been referred for an ultrasound in the next few weeks to check everything looks okay, before I had my implant out in November I was bleeding heavy everyday for 6 months, they found a cyst on my ovary on an ultrasound but couldn’t determine if it was just a menstrual one, I’m obviously a little concerned after bleeding so much for so long but my nurse sounded confident after my periods coming back regular over the last few months so fingers crossed.
Anyone else had issues after the implant?

I had this same dilemma when I was pregnant! I used FR as well. For what it’s worth mine turned out to be positive and honestly to anyone else it would look negative but I was convinced something was there! Picture attached!

Hi everyone, this is a super helpful forum, so glad I came across it! I recently started using the Clear Blue Ovulation Kit and I typically get the static smiley for one day a month. I read here some people are getting flashing smileys a few days before the static smiley and I’m wondering if my fertility window is a lot shorter than others? Was wondering if anyone else’s went from blank circle immediately to a static smiley? I test once a day in the morning, the day after my period finishes. (I hope this all makes sense, thanks in advance!)

A question for all of those who have used OPKs long term if you don't mind! This is my first cycle of using them as it is my first full cycle off the pill (withdrawal bleed in December and proper period 2 weeks ago).

At what point does your LH rise? Based on my last 35 day cycle I should be in my fertile window now with ovulation on Saturday. However, there's been absolutely no rise in my LH so far. I'm testing first thing in the morning and have tested in the afternoon for the last few days where the line is even lower - borderline non existent. I drink a lot of water but I've been making sure I'm not drinking anything 2-3 hours before testing in the afternoon. Also no shift in BBT or change in CM.

Does it suddenly shoot up, could it appear later than anticipated or sometimes does it not show at all?

Any advice welcome! Thank you
It's only my second cycle using OPKs but when I started I was desperate for any advice I could find!

During my first cycle I tested once a day from CD6 until CD10, then I tested twice a day until I saw my first High levels on CD19, followed by the peak on CD20, then another High on CD21 followed by low levels until AF came (I stopped tracking at CD22). My last cycle was at 33 days.

This cycle I started tracking once a day at CD9 and started twice a day again on CD11. Too early to test twice a day technically but I do it because I am still relatively new to tracking and I want to be sure that I am not missing my increasing levels. I don't know for sure if I will see a peak on CD20 again this cycle or not!

My point is, looking at your screenshot, it looks like you are consistently testing once a day. I'd recommend testing twice a day to be sure you aren't missing anything! Also, our LH levels are highest between 12:00 pm - 20:00pm, I can see that you are testing quite early in the morning. Not sure if you are able to test later during the day, I test at around 12:30 pm and 16:30 pm, but this was after some trial and error.

Of course, there might be other causes for example that you have a longer cycle this month but I am not a doctor and only providing speculation here. I know how frustrating OPKs can be so hang in there x

I love hearing all your stories, sending love to you all on your journeys ❤ I stopped my pill 7 months ago and still no sign of a single period yet 😞 blood test and internal assessment both came negative for PCOS. I’ve got an initial gynae video consultation in March. GP say they can’t do anything further to help. Suggested exercising less and eating more, I’m 9 stone (I’m 5’2 so this isn’t under weight) and do approx 45 mins brisk walking daily. Anyone else been in this position and any tips? I’ve been taking folic acid and the tablets Luisa Zissman suggested since October. Started ovulation tests in Nov and have had two separate ‘surges’ since then but have now stopped them as feel deflated. Feel under pressure as I’m 33 and no kids yet. Getting married next June but fiancé keeps saying “we are running out of time if we want one before we get married”. Don’t know what to do, any suggestions welcome! Thanks all ❤
Hello! Sorry I can’t offer any advice but just wanted to send a hug and say don’t loose hope. It will happen (that’s what I keep trying to remind myself). Hope you get some answers at your appointment ❤

That would mean that I have had multiple chemical pregnancies
It’s certainly not impossible. I am pregnant at the moment and we bad fertility treatment and became friendly with another couple of a forum and the wife had a chemical pregnancy for 4 or 5 months in a row. The clinic discovered she was lacking in something vitamin wise and her treatment was successful first time too. It can also mean the lining of your womb is too thin and therefore the embryo is failing to implant.

Hey. That’s sounds very harsh!! And a bit of support wouldn’t go amiss, having that sort of pressure put on you is not helpful.
the only way I can get myself to do exercise and try and lose weight is by finding a routine I really like on YouTube. I also bought Charlotte Crosby tummy (something-sorry forgot the word) on dvd a couple of years ago and really enjoyed those exercises. Do you think if you found a work out you liked you would find it more motivational for you?
Yea it wasn’t the most tactful thing she’s ever said! That’s a good shout about finding an exercise routine. I tend to focus so much on the food aspect of it and neglect the exercise side. Maybe I’ll give the Charlotte Crosby DVD a go as I definitely have that collected dust on one of my shelves! Thank you 😘

Hey guys, I’ve posted here before but stepped back for a while.
Bit of background - both myself and my partner are 29, I’ve been off the pill since October 2018 and started tracking ovulation etc in April 2019. Never had a positive test. Had tests done at the doctors, out of the three times they tested for ovulation, it was confirmed twice and not the other time. My periods are fairly regular (always 27-31 days, usually 28/29) and I don’t get super heavy or painful periods. I’m a healthy weight and live a fairly healthy lifestyle - I don’t smoke or drink, but do like a takeaway, though I try to balance this with plenty of fruit and veg and regular exercise.

I started using OvuSense in October and they confirmed ovulation on CD16, then CD14 in November, no ovulation confirmation in December. Ovulated CD12 in January. Currently CD13 and got a flashing smiley on a ClearBlue this morning, but the cheap OPKs are still showing very negative so I’m not feeling positive for ovulation.

I just feel so disheartened!
Just so you know I used clearblue this month and had 7 flashing faces before I got my static face! Dont give up hope yet xx

Hi guys!

Quick question, has anyone had a hysterosalpingogram to check if your Fallopian tubes are not blocked?

Just wondering what it’s like, I’m really anxious
I was expecting it to be worse but definitely take a strong painkiller and I took Valium too helped relax me. The pain was very intense but literally for like 2 mins over v fast. The clamp thing and getting in catherter was more uncomfortable than painful. I’d one blocked tube so maybe why the pain seemed intense but was super quick and no pain after

Hi ladies....I am taking a break from ttc as we have decided to sell our house and move in with my MIL so we can move back to the area we both grew up in, as we have both been feeling the effects of not having family near us this past year. We will purchase a new house at the end of the year. It will be good for us but TTC in my MIL’s house seems way too awkward 🙈 although I know my SIL did it when they lived with her in laws. I still have my fertility referral next month but I’m fairly sure they’ll tell me to lose weight before they do any treatment but at least I will get some sort of plan of action I guess. Just resigning myself to a larger and larger age gap with all this time that passes 💔 best of luck to all of you lovely ladies xx
Good luck with everything xxx

Ladies that have used ovulation strips, I just need a little advice I feel like even my control line is ridiculously light. Does this look normal or right?
Flo says I should ovulate on Saturday I don’t see it happening in the slightest though.
I went for an ultrasound yesterday and she was like a stone no inclination that everything looked right or not I just have to wait for the gp to call me 🤦🏼‍♀️View attachment 431360
I tried strips for the first time this month was using cb digital before. I was also expecting a gradual increase in lines as my cycle is very regular and I know I ovulate on day 14. I didn’t get anything until the morning of ovulation then got the 2 dark lines. The next day it was just faint line and now it’s gone back to no line!

Hello all, I'm so sorry to post this here when it might not be the right place, and this may sound stupid, but is this definitely positive!? I took the bottom one yesterday and the top one just now.

I think I'm in such disbelief because I got told there's no way I'd be able to conceive... And then this. I'm also feeling nauseous on and off and my lower back is aching.

I'm sorry if this seems like fishing or something but I genuinely feel like I need another opinion before I tell my husband to make sure I'm not seeing things!
They are 100% positive, congratulations! X

Even better if you weren’t expecting it to have happened this time! Lovely news though 😊

Did you test early or miss a period? I’m due on next Tuesday and although I don’t think I will be this month I’m debating whether to test early or just wait to see if my period comes first haha
I'm due on Wednesday but fancied a wine so tested to be sure I'd be ok to have one, turns out I'm not haha

Amazing congratulations!!
Thank you ❤

Would anybody reccomend the clear blue sticks with the smiley faces? All reviews on Amazon seem good. We are starting to try as of April (no earlier because I can’t cope with another birthday the week before christmas like my son 😂) and I’m using supermarkets own ovulation sticks at the minute to try figure out when I do ovulate etc.

Thank you x
