Wondering if anyone can advise about reading OPKs. Previously when TTC I used the clear blue so I didn’t have to read the lines. This time I’m using strips. I know that the line has to be as dark or darker than the control to be positive but when it gets close- does that mean anything or is a negative a negative and there’s just normal fluctuations? I should be ovulating round about now, if I do ovulate that is as im not sure due to PCOS and long cycles. Attached photo- today looks quite dark to me but it is still being read as low by the app. Also a photo of today’s test not in the app
Hi, in my experience opks are unreliable with pcos unfortunately. I’d recommend bbt charting as it might help with a pattern so you have an idea when you’re ovulating. TTC is so tough and even tougher with pcos!!

Aw congratulations! I think 7 weeks shows a blob alright. 5 wks is too early. I had a5 week scan and it showed only a yoke sac.
Thank you 💜As far as I’ve read you should be able to see the heart beat by 7 weeks right? I know it CAN be earlier but for my own mental health I don’t want to get scanned too early and it not be there for me to worry until we get another scan.

has anyone had any issues with coming off contraception?
My coil was due to be taken out in November and I called the doctors early September so we could start trying but was told the doctors aren’t taking them out at the moment (due to COVID) so I’ve waited until this week, called the doctors and the doctor is refusing to do them right now so was pointed to the sexual health clinic but there’s a 6 month+ waiting list

I’m at a loss of what to do and was hoping I’d be pregnant by now but the thought of having to wait another 6 months is awful
This is where I am and it’s awful. I’m at a loss as well. Keeping my fingers crossed for you that you get a solution soon

It’s not, really. For the OP of that post to have false positives from 2 different brands in the same month possibly indicates it could have been a chemical pregnancy or where the egg has fertilised but failed to implant. That’s common and can give off a faint positive line. For a false positive to happen any other way could also mean blood in the urine - albeit very rare for tests to give false positives on a 99% accuracy on more than one branded test x
That would mean that I have had multiple chemical pregnancies

I’m really struggling at the moment. I know I’ve got to lose weight to help with the PCOS symptoms but that mindset sets off my binge eating which I got from years of yo-yo dieting! It’s a vicious circle and just makes me feel so low. Sorry to be doom and gloom, I know there’s people a lot worse off than me! It’s just nice to have somewhere to write down my feelings! Also didn’t help that my mum made the comment “this should be motivation for you. You’ll be letting *partners name* down too if you don’t lose weight this time”. Ouch 🙄
Hey. That’s sounds very harsh!! And a bit of support wouldn’t go amiss, having that sort of pressure put on you is not helpful.
the only way I can get myself to do exercise and try and lose weight is by finding a routine I really like on YouTube. I also bought Charlotte Crosby tummy (something-sorry forgot the word) on dvd a couple of years ago and really enjoyed those exercises. Do you think if you found a work out you liked you would find it more motivational for you?

My period will probably start around the 28th/30th.
Have some PMS symptoms as well... Losing hope and feeling absolutely shattered at the moment 😩
Ahh fingers crossed for you. Mines still not arrived but I’ve had serious lower back ache all day.

Are you guys drinking whilst ttc? I am still having one drink every evening during the w.e. and have had one a bit more often than that recently due to st valentine and a few other occasions. Feeling a mixture of anxiety/guilt I shouldn't not to affect implantation etc but evidence on this seems mixed plus it's not like I am getting drunk I guess.. 😬
Yes I’m still having the occasional glass of wine at the weekends. And then usually a bottle when dreaded AF arrives😩

Yeh starting to think buy cheap buy twice with these 😅. I’m also too impatient to wait 10 mins for the result. Back to clear blue next time I think!

Ooh I’m sorry treat yourself to something nice this weekend. Fingers crossed for next cycle for you 🤞🏻
Wishful thinking really! My luteal phase was only 10 days which isn’t long enough neither 👎🏼 I was hopeful everything would be ok but obviously not! I hate pcos 🙄

I used some OPKs for the first time this month but didn’t get a clear clear peak (some quite close by eye despite the app still saying they were low) and to be honest I found it draining thinking about it so much so I’ve used the box up and scrapped the idea for now. I’m pretty sure I ovulated last month due to pains & mucus but neither of those have happened this month so I am just waiting for my period to arrive. I think I’ll ask to speak to the private consultant again and ask to start metformin after all (have PCOS and she suggested it in Jan but I said no but now I’m thinking maybe I should).
One thing I’m struggling with is my sex drive - it’s never been through the roof but since I came off the pill start of last year it’s definitely fallen even more which isn’t great for trying for a baby. Managed to do it 3 times across the middle of the month but I know that could improve. Haven’t told husband I’m tracking my cycle that closely as I don’t want to make it seem like a chore and be like right we need to have sex now! He also doesn’t have too high a sex drive. The more we do it the more we both want it but I just.... often don’t! I always enjoy it once we get in to it, I don’t think feeling a bit fat and pale and frumpy at the minute is helping either. Any suggestions? Are there any supplements you’ve tried which increase sex drive? I kind of want to make sure we give it a good go and enjoy ourselves to the max before we may need to go down a more clinical route to conceive. I felt good last month that I’d ovulated (have been taking inofolic which has improved my cycle) but no signs this month so feeling a bit weird again. My skin has also broken out like a teenager’s. Hormones! Just love them!! Men do not realise how lucky they are sometimes!

Thank you! Just trying to clarify my fertile window. I think cos I’m not paying premium for the app it’s not updating in line with my bbt or confirming that way. The apps I use seem to just guess ovulation day based on the length of my cycle ie 14 days before the end of cd1. Might just fork out for the good ones soon 😅
I signed up for the Flo trial for 30 days the cancelled after a few so I wouldn’t be charged £50, they sent me an offer the same day for a years subscription for £15.
It might be worth trying for yourself if they give you a discount to track further?

Hey, has anyone used the ClearBlue ovulation connected kit? I bought it yesterday to use this cycle and seems pretty straight forward. Anyone else? X
Let us know how you get on! I’ve been looking at getting one too 🙂

Hi all,
I dip in and out of this thread. I usually read when I'm waiting for AF, as I feel okay the rest of the month however I know its coming again so I'm anxious. When I'm feeling okay I prefer to not read about ttc, as it stresses me out a bit, I prefer to keep it off my mind if possible(though it's very hard!).
My best friend had told me she is pregannt today, she already has children and hadn't been trying long. I'm truly happy for her but it's hurts badly for myself. I feel so selfish for feeling like this.
Is anyone else here over a year in trying for number one? I feel so alone at the moment.
I'm the same as you. Don't follow this topic all the time.
We've been trying since October 2019 and still no luck.
A friend of ours started trying around the same time and already has a baby now. We were supposed to meet up last weekend, but I just couldn't bring myself to going. Had my period two weeks ago, had recently taken another round of Letrozole (similar to clomid, I have PCOS) and was mentally in a dark place (still not really out of it).
I felt so bad for making my boyfriend go alone to meet up with her, but I really wasn't in a good place. It's important to take care of yourself.
Going to the gynaecologist tomorrow again to see if ovulation is on schedule. Been having sex daily since the beginning of this week. I think I'll ovulate end of this week/beginning next week. So going all out now for the coming (no pun intended) days.
Fingers crossed! 🤞

I honestly feel like I have a burn out of trying for a baby, if that makes sense. It's so draining... :(

Okay so I took a test this afternoon .. we’re pregnant! We’ll be looking at booking an early scan after previous early losses, the last one being a missed miscarriage at 9 weeks. When is the best time to book one for? Obviously not going to book one yet just incase but if we get to 7 weeks is that a good time?
Yay! Congratulations! Had a feeling you might be! X

Congratulations! Lovely news ❤

I have one booked for Valentine’s Day, I’ll be 7 weeks 6 days. They say not to have one before 6 weeks as they won’t be able to see anything.
That's the best Valentine's! 👌

Just wanted to say how much I love this thread 😂 I’ve been non stop thinking about this, AF is due next Tuesday and I’m telling myself I won’t be pregnant so I’m not disappointed but also doing things like working out what the due date would be if I was 🙄

It’s nice to be able to read everyone’s else’s experiences, it feels like we’re all in it together! Wishing everyone lots of luck and baby dust in their journeys ✨❤
I think we all do that! 9th October for me 🤣 wishful thinking

How is everyone today?

I’m due on on Christmas Day but feeling like it might come earlier. Got slightly sore boobs and that feeling in your tummy that happens when you know periods coming. Don’t know if that’s in my head. Trying to stay positive.

Annoying that all you can do is wait and there’s not a little note that pops out your vagina straight after fertilisation saying yay you’re pregnant!
😂 definitely! The person who invents a device which can do that would be very rich indeed...

13 dpo here and no sign of af! We are not trying (but not really trying very hard to prevent either)...and although I know I’m being unrealistic there is a small part of me slightly hoping on the off chance that some careless sex 3 days before ovulation has resulted in a happy accident 🤣 I can dream! I did have some sushi and champagne last night however to celebrate the end of work for 2020 so...😬

I would try either another sexual health clinic or ring some private clinics for a quote. I had to ring around to get my implant removed.

I haven't but I'll be interested to know how you find it! I have looked a couple of times but it's so expensive it keeps putting me off!

Thanks so much for your advice ladies. I’m grateful to get a smiley even just for one day so I’ll continue on :) good luck everyone
It just depends on your LH surge pattern- some women (me) get a rapid surge so one day it’s negative then a huge peak the next. Others have a more gradual rise/surge. I’m told it makes no difference! I go straight from blank circle to static smiley.
