I never understood how this worked - so that’s basal body temperature? My app has a bit to log that but I didn’t know what I was supposed to be checking 😂
Basically ovulating makes your temp rise so if you track it every day, you should see two distinct phases...like the below image. You then know that the day before your temp rose is the day you ovulated like seen on this photo. And also if you aren’t pregnant, the temps will drop back to the lower side but if you are they will stay in that second phase

Thanks for replying! I’m pro vaccine I can’t wait to get back to normal life! I just wasn’t sure what everyone else’s thoughts were about it. I’m getting my coil removed next month and will be in the last lot of people getting vaccinated so it might not even be an issue for me 🤞🏻the advice will probably be a bit clearer by then too as the majority of people will have had it and they’ll know more about it.

Feeling very disheartened. Started on clomid by my GP this month, ovulated cd18. Had bloods taken cd21 and looked I ovulated well. Today cd25 - 7dpo- started bleeding :( looks like a period rather than implantation. So my luteal phase is non existent. I have read GPs in the UK don't really believe in this/are very reluctant to prescribe progesterone. I have contacted them and will see what they say. Has anyone ever been in this situation or has advice? I have had lots of tests done to look into pcos/ovulation before - is it worth booking a private fertility specialist and bring these to them to see what they say? Feeling SO deflated!

Hi all,

I had my doctors app yesterday. The nurse who did my bloods was really lovely. I then went for another app and that nurse was really rude and made me feel stupid and I left feeling a bit tearful, which is a shame after I went in feeling positive.

I've got my day 21 bloods booked and another app to see that rude nurse for some swabs or something.

I have very light periods now, like 2 days max and there's not that much, never used to be like this. I will ask next time (not keen on asking the rude nurse!) as I see different answers online, some say it's fine others say it could be a problem! Anyone else have this?

Good luck all x
Sorry you had a bad experience with the second nurse, it's a horrible feeling when you see a doctor/nurse who isn't very helpful! I hope you're feeling better now and more positive about the next tests.

I had covid (for Christmas) and it was grim. I wouldn’t wish it on anyone else, or to get it again so I’ll take the vaccine but it does worry me slightly that there are no studies available on how it may affect anyone TTC, especially as we haven’t got much going for us anyway 😬
So I might not have the most up to date information but I thought when it just came out they were advising people planning on getting pregnant in the next 3 months not to get it? This might have just been the one article though but I wasn’t sure what the official guidance was so thought I’d ask here if anyone knew different or had actually spoken to their doctor about it.

Hi guys, I know this is just tiktok by a doctor and not an official statement or anything but it might help ease the minds of a few people ttc and getting vaccinated so I thought I’d share:

I OPK test with strips and I find that I get my positive/peak the day before ovulation. So I'll have the positive the day before the app predicted I'll ovulate but then the day after the line is nowhere near as strong, but still darker than the start of my cycle. Hope that makes sense! Good luck to you 🤞🏻
Yeah that really helps, thank you! Hoping for a temp rise 🤞🏻
We often struggle to time it right because my partner is a paramedic and works insane shifts, but we DTD yesterday and today, so if ive ovulated one of those two days, I’m hoping we have a chance!

Period due tomorrow. Felt my very normal PMS symptoms today (headache, mood swings) but there’s still a little part of me holding out hope that it won’t come and I’m actually pregnant.
My period will probably start around the 28th/30th.
Have some PMS symptoms as well... Losing hope and feeling absolutely shattered at the moment 😩

Thank you to everyone for helping me with the ovulation testing. We’re a few days into our first month of trying and I’m quite excited to find out if I ovulate (not 100% convinced that I do as I still breastfeed at night). But fingers crossed!

Ok so this is extremely bizarre but on I told my husband to take an ovulation test just because I was curious 🙄😂. Anyways a line came up?? How do they work? I know the line has to be atleast as strong as the other but I didn’t think It would have been possible for a line to appear with a mans wee
The hormone the OPKs detect is also present in men too. So even the tiniest amount of LH in your husbands will will show both lines x

Well I’m back. Finally stopped bleeding after my chemical pregnancy. Ready to get back to ttc. I had my moments of “I’m done. I’m giving up” etc but nope. I’m ready now. We will get our baby!!
Started switching up to different vitamins now, I’ve read a lot about low vitamin d can cause miscarriages and we’ll I’ve been stuck indoors for months due to lockdown so I’m upping my dosage on them too.
anyone here use baby aspirin? I’ve heard good thing. When do you start taking it? Etc.
good luck all 💜
Glad you're feeling a bit better 💕 you've got this!

I will get vaccine but just means we'll push back TTC. If they can get all adults on the first vaccine by end of July, that's okay for me as it'll be our first and gives us a bit of time to sort ourselves out a bit more. I can understand why some people may be more anxious about it though. I've been lurking here because I am nervous as hell about TTC and still feel too young - I am 28!

Is it reliable to take one early? Or is there a chance you could get a negative result, then a positive a few days later?

natural cycles has confirmed my ovulation in the first month I’ve been temping and using OPKs! Quite a big spike from 35.90 to 36.18! I’m so happy! 😁 I hope it’s not just a fluke, I really didn’t think I ovulated! I don’t get any symptoms or CM! Hopefully everything else hormone wise is all ok that’s needed to make a baby.🤞🏼

I'm guessing yes - I saw elsewhere that if you fall pregnant after the first vaccine you can't receive the booster and my colleague said she was asked if she was TTC when she had it or planned to TTC. I suppose the effectiveness of the vaccine may be reduced overall if you can't receive the booster until after your pregnancy/breastfeeding you may have lost yourinitial vaccine response and therefore either have the vaccine again from scratch or be unable to have the booster and just hope you had a good initial response 🤷 there are some vaccines that you can't "repeat" like your combined childhood vaccines as it would be considered an "overdose" but I have no idea if this would apply to the covid vaccine or not.

As you can tell I have been mulling this over and scrabbling around for data but theres just no black and white answer
