I think there are definitely pros and cons to having all different kinds of age gaps. Smaller is much more stressful for a longer time, less of yourself to spread around at once, quite a bit of jealousy often but also they become very close and bond over the similar things and you can generally please them both/all with the same activities (my two are 19 months apart). Larger age gaps are generally much less stressful, less guilt about spreading yourself around because you get designated chunks of time to spend with each child I.e. while they’re at school/nursery etc and you deffo still get that best friend bond (my brother and I are 4 years apart).

At the end of the day, if you are lucky enough for your child to have a sibling at whatever point I find it is generally a very positive thing as each child brings so much to the table so try not to stress about it too much. That’s what I’m telling myself anyway LOL *rocks back and forth in a corner because TTC is too out of my control for my brain to deal with* 😅🙃😂 xxx
My husband is one of 5 (blended family!) and all of his siblings are 4/5years apart. It’s hard when I see my friend popping out kids. I put a post on FB about my son getting into school that we chose, and two people just said “time for another!”

Fuck off honestly!

Not sure exactly but I started taking folic acid as soon as I stopped the pill. I agree it’s a bit of grey area coming off the pill. I think most of us just assume things will go back to normal straight away. Especially since they always make such a big deal when you miss a pill that you could be pregnant etc. I thought it would be so easy to conceive once you stop...
totally agree re coming off the pill! I remember a few years ago mentioning to my GP I was curious about coming off pill, I’ve been on it since 16 so don’t even know how much it’s really affected my personality/body etc! And his response was ‘unless you’re curious about pregnancy don’t bother’ I got such a fright so never queried it again 🤣

thank you all for being so lovely and for your advice. I think BBT tracking sounds like the way to go if it’s going to be the most accurate so will place an Amazon order tonight, along with the pregnacare vitamins and just keep all fingers and toes crossed 🤞🏻 Thanks again 🥰

🎉 And there it is 🌈❤ congratulations 🎉
Do you know when you are due ? Going by when I ovulated I'm 18th Jan

Smallpotato im 36 in August , my son is 9 and I've tried since he was born to give him a sibling , me and his dad divorced , I lost a baby in February with my new partner but hopefully this is it now 🌈 January he will have a much longed for brother or sister.
wooow I’m a day after, 19th January!

Recent posts about people’s unhelpful comments are so right. I’d literally just given birth and people were like “so when’s the next one?”. So much pressure and really stressed me out.

It was worse though when I was going through infertility and people were like “don’t you want children?” To start with I’d say maybe one day, and then be told not to leave it so long 🙄 eventually I would tell them I’d been diagnosed with infertility, just because I was fed up with arguing.

however, from going through what I did, at least I’ll always be tactful. I would never ask someone why they don’t have kids.

I am very hopeful this pregnancy works out. But tbh for me the same stress as the first time just isn’t here. I was desperate to be a mum and now I am. Another would be appreciated but I honestly have been so thankful every day I have a son. He’s 3 and amazing 😍❤

I’m 5dpo today, it goes so slowly does it! This week I’ve got loads of good things to do like nails and hair appointment so that will hopefully make the time pass quicker.
pinkstock- most people will track bbt and do opks to detect proper ovulation, however bbt is the only sure way to know if you are ovulating as the opks detect lh which your body makes to gear up for ovulation but you can still not ovulate even with positive opk, if that makes sense. Also you can still have a period if you’ve not ovulated as the body still sheds the lining it’s made in the uterus but cycle lengths would be unpredictable I think.
good luck sailorontheseasea!

Hi everyone,

I haven't been as active on this thread as I find after AF arrives I usually end up having a break from the baby stuff. When AF is a few days away I start to get anxious and the feeling of dread (it's hard to feel any excitement after 16 cycles! Just the worry of how awful I will feel) and then when AF arrives. I think when I feel so low the support on these threads are what I need, people who understand the utter heartbreak your period coming brings. So I promise I'm not always miserable 🤣 it's just when I tend to appear.

11dpo here. Cycle 16 has flown by weirdly.
Apart from tender boobs for a few days, although not majorly, I have no symptoms at all. I had cramps for a few days after ovulation but I also had that last month.
Feeling okay, but I can feel that anxiety creeping in a bit....
Want the next couple of days to hurry but then I also don't because it's most likely I will be heartbroken again and that's the feeling I get the dread for! Anyone else get what I mean? I can't actually imagine it ever happening!
DH sperm analysis tommrow finally. I think I'm a bit behind with all the testing but at least it's happening.
Crazy that I have become so used to TTC, its the routine every month of it just like its normal life. Weird to think people have kids who have never done this, just did it once or tried for a month. Doesn't feel real that that happens!
Lots of love to you all x
Are you me?! 😂 cycle 14, well AF came yesterday so I guess cycle 15 now for me. I hope the test comes back with some helpful information for you both. TTC has consumed my life and I had a good old cry on Sunday to the OH and said if we aren’t pregnant by next Feb (2 years of trying) I’m giving up because it is so mentally and emotionally draining.

I’ve been watching this thread for a while now but don’t really like putting my feelings out there. But you all seem like a lovely bunch. I came off the pill in Feb 2020 and nothing as of yet. I’m getting so disheartened with it all. AF arrived today (again). Probably doesn’t help that I’m nearing the big 4-0 either. Has anyone here managed to get pregnant in their late 30’s? Any advice would be appreciated. I’m taking all the vitamins, I seem to be ovulating, just getting so tired of it all now. 😢. I also seem to spot ever so slightly for a few days before AF. I’m honestly not sure if that’s normal for me or not as I’ve been on the pill since my teens with the odd break here and there. Cycles seemed to go back to normal after a few months off x

Girls I just want to ask a quick question.
AF was due today for me usually I’ll have some spotting the night before but all I had was a tiny wipe of pink, this morning I went to the toilet it looked like I’d started naturally I was fuming but I put a tampon in & felt like it was full a few hours after I changed it and it was empty, my second one of the day I’ve just taken out again was pretty much empty baring in mind I’ve had it in for 6/7 hours.
I felt a tiny pinching cramp on the right side of my pelvis yesterday afternoon in Tesco. Could that have been implantation? Or am I getting my hopes up and AF will have a proper go tomorrow 😂

Usually my periods the heaviest on the first and second day only lasting 4 on average. TTC is the most confusing thing I’ve think I’ve ever done

Hi all,

For those that have just got their bfps or have other children did any of you have skin breakouts before you found out?

My skin was awful for a year after coming off the pill. The last 2 or 3 months it has got better which has made me feel so much better in myself.

I'm in the TWW 8dpo and the last few days my skin is breaking out. Its not major. I've got quite a few actual spots and then lots of those little 'bumps' that are apparently hormonal spots or something. I'm sure it means nothing and most likely just means my skin is going bad again (I am praying this doesn't happen, it killed my self esteem).

Thanks x x
Hey! I always get hormonal spots before I get a positive test. I have them right now all around my chin and mouth so hoping that’s positive and not just from wearing a fekin mask 😂

I’ve just tested positive but I had literally no symptoms! My boobs felt fine and I’ve had no sickness or skin issues so it really is different for everyone! The only unusual thing was that I’ve been SUPER bloated the past week or so! Good luck ❤
Omg congratulations 🥳 ❤

I'm feeling much better today. Sorry for my sad posts yesterday. But I'm feeling much better and positive today. I hope your all okay today as well!

We can do this. We will get our 2022 babies ❤
Don’t be sorry. Your post really helped me yesterday as I did not feel alone. ❤ I got AF on Monday and I was beyond dévastéd, withdrawn and tired. This week was the lowest I felt in a long time. You lovely ladies sharing how you felt made my days a little easier. As in your 4 walls you feel alone.

my first post on these ttc threads but ain’t it just! 😩 we’ve ‘only’ been trying for 8ish months,I know that’s nothing compared to some of you. How on earth did you find the will power to wait?! It’s so hard! I’m sure it gets harder every month!
I know! we've only been trying for baby number 2 since November after a miscarriage but every month does seem to get harder, if you have a poas addiction, by Internet cheapie 😂

Due tomorrow or Monday. Might nip to the shops today to get a FRER. I’ve actually never tried one before so we shall see 🤷‍♀️
What is FRER ? ☺ Ignore . I googled it 😆

Doctor hasnt suggested them just online i have read about them, just wondered if anyone else has tried other methods. i will ask the doc! Thank you ☺
I’m just eating clean and healthy as much as possible. Higher fat intake in my diet. Eating foods with higher folate in it. Eating oysters regularly. Having one vegetarian meal a day which includes lentils or beans. Instead of folic acid I take folate tablets due to one of my blood conditions. No doctor recommended I just thought it makes sense. Even though once I’m pregnant my doctor will subscribe me a higher dose of folic acid.
I have not been drinking alcohol since January but I had a glass the other day during my fertile window. I’m just trying not to drink as my doctor mentioned I have higher chances of conceiving if both myself and m partner do not consume alcohol .

Walking outside more in the sunlight.
Most importantly having sex at least 3-4 times during fertile window. Which is the hardest as I’m always horny outside of the fertile window. 😂
Fertile window dictates when to have sex so slightly off putting.

I think supplements only do so much. It’s our mental well-being, food which is more important then supplements. Plus having lots of sex. No sex no baby.

Well now a day late, took a test on Wednesday (negative digital) was due on yesterday, but expected to come on today as I'm now 14dpo. I'm fully expecting AF to arrive to feeling hopelessly optimistic 😬

how's everyone doing? ❤

Well maybe the nauseous is a good sign! I literally just have cramps today on and off and sore boobs so I think I'll be AF again.
Got random bad skin but it's probably just my bad skin coming back. I did use pre seed for the first time.
How long have you been trying? Got my fingers crossed for you. I want to hope so much but I just get too worried to now.
Well, fingers crossed for you anyway, you never know - it's maddening how similar the symptoms are!

We tried for over a year but stopped this time last year, I even went back on the pill (seemed logical at the time, I just couldn't deal with the disappointment any more so that way I just knew). Came off it again at the start of Feb so really haven't been trying long this time. Absolutely not getting my hopes up given how previous attempts have gone...

Another friend just told me she's pregnant.. I'm so happy for her, just feeling sad for me. Feel ridiculous saying it out loud so don't have anyone else to talk to about it. Grateful for this group ❤
Your feelings are so valid. If anything look at it as cementing the way you feel and what you want. 💕

Hey ladies, still waiting impatiently for my period to come. Its a month since my miscarriage and I'm desperate to start trying again. Was anyone in a similar situation? How long did it take for your period to start again? I feel its coming but nothing to show for it just yet 😕
Sorry about your miscarriage :( I also had a mc in February, my period started again 4 weeks to the day but it was a surgical mc, not sure if that makes any difference? Hope yours comes soon! We have just started trying again but think my period is going to come any day now! 😩
