Omg I get the really hot and vivid dreams too, unfortunately before AF :( hope that is not the case for you though x
See generally I don’t really, I only get those sorts of things a day or two before my AF (due next Wednesday, 33 day cycles) along with fairly low mood/feeling withdrawn/need to sleep so I deffo know this isn’t just my standard PMS but yanno I guess this must just be my life now 🤪 thanks lovely xx

12dpo is still early though ❤ You aren’t out yet!
Ahhhh I know, I shouldn’t have tested really!! I told myself I wouldn’t until AF is due!! Hope you’re ok sweet xx

theres nothing wrong with an early test, just think those levels might still be doubling away and be poppin’ on weds!

Double digits now 10dpo! My appetite has ramped up and I think I had sore boobs yesterday but it was abit here or there kinda feeling. (not something I’ve ever had except when My milk came in last time) im still burping constantly which is a riot 😂

Back from the shops with some of the pregnacare preconception vitamins, a load of boots pregnancy tests and a couple of the pricey clearblue weeks ones.

Absolute sod’s law that in the past if I ever missed 2 pills in a row my withdrawal bleed would come the morning after the second missed pill like clockwork (even mid cycle) but now I have actually stopped taking it, it’s not here on time! Just want to get it out the way so I can start looking at when I get a real cycle back.

Does anyone know if it is worth trying the meantime whilst I wait for withdrawal bleed or is it not physically possible to become pregnant then? I can’t find much info online about the bit of time after you stop the pill.

Sorry no advice, just wanted to say good luck and I'm sure it's still worth a try!

The only reason they say to not do it post pill as it’s harder to date but that will get cleared up after a scan so it’s not the end of the world! If you’re happy to I would start having sex every other day and just look for ovulation signs (egg white consistency cervical mucas) but there’s no reason why you can’t start ASAP ☺

Not sure exactly but I started taking folic acid as soon as I stopped the pill. I agree it’s a bit of grey area coming off the pill. I think most of us just assume things will go back to normal straight away. Especially since they always make such a big deal when you miss a pill that you could be pregnant etc. I thought it would be so easy to conceive once you stop...

Thanks all, I guess I might as well just try whenever to begin with but I just don’t want to get my hopes up for x amount of time when it’s not physically possible if that makes sense.

Good to know it could be though, grumpy I see what you mean about dating it being a pain though!

And dipdab i agree, I feel a bit silly for all those times I panicked when I took my pill a few hours late because having read a little bit about it now I realise the chances were super slim! I guess it helps us all be careful though when we weren’t ready, just shocking when you realise the second you stop taking you won’t immediately get pregnant!

totally agree re coming off the pill! I remember a few years ago mentioning to my GP I was curious about coming off pill, I’ve been on it since 16 so don’t even know how much it’s really affected my personality/body etc! And his response was ‘unless you’re curious about pregnancy don’t bother’ I got such a fright so never queried it again 🤣

thank you all for being so lovely and for your advice. I think BBT tracking sounds like the way to go if it’s going to be the most accurate so will place an Amazon order tonight, along with the pregnacare vitamins and just keep all fingers and toes crossed 🤞🏻 Thanks again 🥰

There a thread for post pill cycles which might be worth reading, I agree it’s so frustrating not knowing what could happen and the times you’re lead to believe that one pill missed would end up in pregnancy!!

good luck. I have read many times people get pregnant straight off the pill as it’s the first ovulation for a long time so it’s not impossible! You’d likely be able to get a clearblue indicator test easily to show how far you could be. It’s just a case of how long you might be getting jiggy with it until you ovulate!

Does anyway gets aches and kind of cramps (don't know how to describe it) the few days after ovulation? I'm 3dpo and have had them On and off since. Im not saying its anything but I literally had it for the first time last month (cycle 15) which was strange then again this time. Anyone else get this? Ovulation is definately done as I started up the opks this month.

I get cramps for days and days after, I'm still getting them now (5 DPO) and I am almost certain I don't get then any other time in my cycle. It's so bizarre!

Ah really!
I find it so strange as I've never noticed them before last cycle. It can't mean anything really as ovulation is done but it's way to early to be anything yet. Bodies are weird!

I’m not ttc but have successfully used BBT and think it’s great and really accurate for me- I knew I was pregnant both times as my temp didn’t dip which it would do the day before a period and instead stayed high.
good luck to you all, keep enjoying the trying I know it’s hard to not let it becomes chore.. my temp is up let’s go!!

Hi all, I am just about to start TTC, I’m 28 and haven’t been pregnant before. I stopped taking my pill yesterday.

I’ve been having a little read through and lots of your posts have been super helpful as I think I was quite naive to it all and figured I just stop taking my pill and hope it happens.

Am going to get some of the pre conception vitamins tomorrow so thanks to those who recommended them.

In terms of the ovulation tests and tracking things, should I start using them right away? Or would you all initially just hope for the best and if it doesn’t happen after a few months start tracking? Sorry for all the questions x
Hey! Just wanted to add, I am in a similar situation as you, helps to not feel alone ☺. I have a little one already though (almost 5yrs old now 😮). I came off the pill 2 weeks ago so patiently waiting for my AF to arrive as well. Fingers crossed for everyone 🤞

Me three! 🙋🏼‍♀️ Got my implant out on 11th March and have been using the Boots OPK’s, but only a really faint line so far. I’ve had a few cramps here and there but no AF yet. I felt nauseous last week so took a test out of curiosity.. big negative. My boobs are SO sore this week, so not sure whether AF is coming. I’m just desperate to start getting in to a routine with my cycles so that I know there’s ‘movement’ and I can start tracking properly 😒

Have had them this cycle only, can’t remember having them at any other point! X

First post pill AF came this morning, so that’s good as can get withdrawal bleed out the way and hopefully get into a real cycle soon 🤞🏻 So I guess just start trying once AF goes. Started using Flo to track and it’s given me a fertile window etc but I won’t place too much in the of course as I could have a super long cycle naturally (haven’t been off BC for a long time so no idea!).

Thanks for those who have given advice I’m learning so much from reading through this thread and feel so much more prepared now that it might take a while x

I’m glad it didn’t take too long for the withdrawal bleed to show up! The positive thing is that I understand that once you stop the hormonal pill that’s it - so should be no leftover hormone and now your body can get back to it’s own thing.

Hi everyone, this thread is so informative, I had never heard of monitoring BBT before. TTC is a complete minefield! Like others have said, we were educated that pregnancy could happen so easily, and taught all of the non-natural ways to prevent it.

Can anyone recommended a good thermometer for measuring BBT and a good “monitoring BBT for dummies” link to explain how to do it/what to look out for?
