Sorry no advice, just wanted to say good luck and I'm sure it's still worth a try!
The only reason they say to not do it post pill as it’s harder to date but that will get cleared up after a scan so it’s not the end of the world! If you’re happy to I would start having sex every other day and just look for ovulation signs (egg white consistency cervical mucas) but there’s no reason why you can’t start ASAP ☺
Not sure exactly but I started taking folic acid as soon as I stopped the pill. I agree it’s a bit of grey area coming off the pill. I think most of us just assume things will go back to normal straight away. Especially since they always make such a big deal when you miss a pill that you could be pregnant etc. I thought it would be so easy to conceive once you stop...
Thanks all, I guess I might as well just try whenever to begin with but I just don’t want to get my hopes up for x amount of time when it’s not physically possible if that makes sense.

Good to know it could be though, grumpy I see what you mean about dating it being a pain though!

And dipdab i agree, I feel a bit silly for all those times I panicked when I took my pill a few hours late because having read a little bit about it now I realise the chances were super slim! I guess it helps us all be careful though when we weren’t ready, just shocking when you realise the second you stop taking you won’t immediately get pregnant!

I bought some tests today and going to try to pluck up the courage to test in the morning (if AF doesn't appear overnight).

@elloelloello, let us know how you get on ❤

I took a test on Sunday afternoon (I know, I know but just felt intrigued). It was negative - until I looked at it half an hour later. I've now convinced myself it was an evap line (despite the line being coloured rather than just an indent) as two subsequent tests with FMU have been completely negative. Waiting at least a few more days now, I expect AF will arrive at some point or I've massively miscalculated my ovulation date. Just a waiting game now. 🥺

Thank you all for responses 💖

I’m going to start by getting an app and tracking that way, get some vitamins and start trying ASAP once I’ve had my withdrawal bleed from stopping my pill.

Good luck with all your journeys, I’ll be reading and keeping my fingers crossed for us all 🤞🏻💕

Little update from me :
Doctor just rang and chatted through my blood results, thankfully she had a much more helpful outlook than last time I have seen her about this.
my testosterone levels are above the high threshold which can be an indicator of PCOS but it’s not crazy high so she can’t be sure without an ultrasound.
I will get a letter with an ultrasound appointment soon but she couldn’t give a time frame for the actual appointment due to covid waiting lists.
my previous pregnancy that ended in MC is a “positive sign” (not sure I love the way she worded that one) that my body can get pregnant.
After the ultrasound she will have another phone call with me to discuss the outcome and then either refer me to the fertility clinic or redeem me to the hospital if there are lots of cysts.

Does anybody on here have PCOS? What has been your experience if you do? 💗

Sending you so much love ❤❤❤

Hey, had my IUD removed last week, just finished AF withdrawal bleed today. Been using the easy at home OPK's and all been low before AF arrived. Bit of a gross question, but after DTD do any of you keep your legs up to help gravity to do its thing? If you do, how long do you do it for? 😳😩

So glad I discovered this thread, been feeling really lonely in this and only have a small window I can get pregnant in due to health and financial issues, but got the OK from my consultant so really hoping ❤
Not a gross question at all. We’re all ladies just trying to help each other 😊 I’ve always lay for 30 minutes with my legs up against the headboard and pillows under my bum. My ivf consultant said it was a load of nonsense but I’ve since conceived naturally twice and did it both times. The way I see it, it might be nonsense but it certainly doesn’t hurt.

I also used the conceive plus lube which again, I’ve got no proof that it made the difference but might be worth a try

The wait is awful and yes I just want it to hurry up. But then the thought of it arriving and the small bit of hope going is terrible so then I don't. Nobody tells you trying for a baby could be so bloody hard! Sex education made out one quick go and you'd be pregnant 😂
DH was meant to work all weekend but is now off Sunday. At least I now have company that day to take my mind off it sometimes.
Caved and did a test, negative 😔

Oh my goodness I am SO pleased for you! I have been thinking about you ❤❤❤
eeeek thank you!! ❤❤ Hope you’re feeling well!!
I just literally squealed out loud! So happy for you lovely lady, huge congratulations 😍 wishing you a very happy and very healthy 9 months 💞
ahh could you be anymore lush?! Thank you so much ❤Sending you all the love and luck for this next cycle. You got it ❤❤

Congratulations!!!! Yay!!!! How axing!! Did you have any symptoms?
I was super crampy after ovulation, and then the last week or so I’ve been more tired than usual, I’ve had difficulty sleeping, my boobs started to feel different - not hurt but I was aware of them if that makes sense
I was super gassy, burping allll the time for no reason. Also more hungry than normal!
I’ve had some twinging and pulling too.
around 6dpo I had a pain that I thought could have been implantation but wasn’t sure! I also had heart palpitations just after which I think I’ve only ever had when I was pregnant with my son.

Hiya, I am 28, but I also came off the pill just before you and nothing at all yet, so I know how you feel. It is hard to feel positive

I am 7dpo and came off the pill just before you. Its bloody hard isn't it x

Congratulations. I'm very happy for you. I think you are around the same amount of time as me but I could be remembering wrong, can I ask how long you tried for?
I came off this pill in feb, so this is our second cycle. The first cycle we tried with ovulation tests, more to check my body was doing what it should be. We are v v lucky to have caught so quickly 🤞🏻

I feel like there’s also been a massive influx of influencers announcing pregnancies as it seems to be the new “in” thing to be a mummy blogger. I found Mother’s Day quite hard as there were a few of the inevitable influencer announcements. I also saw a post from an acquaintance referring to her newborn as the “happiest accident” ever. Don’t know why but that really bothered me
Yes! There's just announcements everywhere. I'm just like why is this still not happening for me?! I understand that too, it is so so hard to understand 'accidents' when you try for so long. Just how?! Or people that conceive first go, then tell you you need to relax and chill out. That winds me up 😂. People just don't understand how draining and hard it is. I was also tearful mothers day morning. I just kept thinking that last year and the year before I'd have been sure I'd have a baby or be pregnant this mother's day. Praying we are all in a happier position for next mothers day ❤

I had my hycosy this week but the hyfosy version (using foam) my tubes are completely clear and I’m now waiting for a detailed ultrasound to check all ok.

Hycosy is known to increase fertility in the few months following the procedure so I’m hopeful (ish) for this cycle. By July it will be 3 years ttc
I had my hycosy last month, everything looked okay.unfortunately no bfp for me that cycle. Keeping everything crossed for this month and the next few of course. Over 2 years TTC now and finding it harder and harder emotionally.

Nooo 🙈 how did you do that ?!
I wish I know!! I peed in a cup, put the stick facing down in it for 20 seconds (timed). Removed and kept it lying flat and it was just like -“hmm.. Nope”. So I’m sticking with the old fashioned lines 😬 (10-12dpo..)

Still wish I’d waited until my period is due like with my first! Though with him I’d accepted I wasn’t going to get pregnant on my own and we were just about to embark on IVF, I only did the test because I was planning a night of drinking at my friends wedding x

Hope all is ok with you lovely @grumpycat 💖
Thanks for checking in 🖤🖤
No sign of period today but stupid me got the wrong test - I got first response rapid result not the early result! I took one with FMU this morning and I’ve got the squintiest of squinty lines. So I’ll get a FRER today and test tonight or tomorrow 🤞🏻

Thank you to everyone for your kindness over the weekend, I love this little community. 🥰

@Spencerskates I'm sorry you're feeling so bad. It must be so hard to be around other people's children whilst you so badly want your own, try to be kind to yourself. ❤

On my first cycle of TTC again after a miscarriage in February. Have been tracking ovulation using clearblue, expected it to happen around day 11/12 based on previous cycles. On day 16 and it still hasn’t detected a surge :( not sure if I ovulated early, or if happened without the test picking it up, if I’m ovulating late this month or just not ovulating at all! 😩

Told myself I wouldn’t test until I missed my period so OBVIOUSLY I tested (at literally 10dpo lol). They were only £1 so it doesn’t count right ?! Really cannot afford to spend money on pregnancy tests this month so I’m hoping that holds me back! 🥴 anyway, negative as expected.

My boobs have been really sore the past week or so which isn’t really something I usually get and have been feeling nauseas 25/7 so I dunno. I get a feeling this isn’t the month for me anyway so trying not to get hopes up in any sense of the word. Hope everyone else is doing ok xx

I've been watching this thread for a while now but have finally taken the plunge to get involved. I came off the pill in around November time not for any reason other than the fact I'd been on it for over 10 years. Myself and my partner agreed that if it happens, great, if it doesn't, also fine. My cycles returned to normal pretty quickly and I get regular enough cycles to track now. As time has gone on, we've decided that actually there will be no better time than now to try as we always felt like we were putting it off for one reason or another but really is anybody ever in the perfect situation to have a baby?? We've both got stable jobs and have recently moved into a 3 bedroom house so I'm becoming more and more desperate to conceive. I've just this month started using ovulation test strips because I wanted to see how accurate the estimates on flo/maya/premum are. This may sound incredibly naive and I can only apologise for my ignorance but all through my teenage years and early twenties, people scare you into thinking it's super easy to get pregnant (I appreciate it is for some people and I know for some people it only takes 1 try) but we've dtd every single month on the days leading up to and on ovulation day and yet nothing!! I never appreciated how hard it would be to conceive and the longer it takes, the more desperate I become! I'm currently 1dpo so dreading another for tww!! Sorry for this long rambling message, needed somewhere to get my thoughts and feelings out 🤦‍♀️
Welcome, feel free to get your feelings out, we all understand ❤ every month does seem to get harder, just get your feelings out, have some chocolate or a cry if you need to and remember every period is another chance to try again x (if that helps, if it doesn't just ignore that lol)

Sorry to just come on a dump my feelings but I need to offload!

I’m currently on CD3 and my period is horrendous this time. This is the one that’sreally hit me, because I was so sure that I was pregnant - I had different symptoms that I’d not had before, we timed it perfectly, and I just knew! You know when everyone says you’ll just know when you’re pregnant even without taking the test because something feels different, and I felt like that this cycle.

I’m a teacher and I feel like I’ve been really snappy with the kids because I’m finding it so hard to be surrounded but other people’s kids when I’m not sure if I’ll have my own. And then I feel like that’s why I’m not getting pregnant, because the universe just knows I won’t be a good Mum so it won’t let me have a baby.
I’m sorry that you’re having a hard time, but the way that you’re feeling is totally valid 💗
it’s really tough to be around children whilst you’re having a hard time conceiving and I totally sympathise with you. Please please know that you will be a great mum, the fact that you are still picking yourself up and going to work every day, helping those lovely children even when you really aren’t in the mood to is the proof that you are completely devoted. You are much stronger than you think 💞
