Yeah I have to pay my full nursery fees at the start of the month. Then I get a UC top up with my wage later in the month.
My nursery funded hours are term time only (not got them yet but will be when she turns three) I thought it was like that everywhere?
They are term time only but when they stretch them, it equals to about 22 hours a week, not 30.
Where as now they're not stretching them, your normal monthly bills should be going down as those free hours will be split back across the rest of the term time

It is definitely true that they can be great all day, and the hard work that is for them exhausts them and when they are safe with you it all just explodes out of them. And that is so hard, because we get all the rubbish, and it feels like you never get your lovely child x
This is what I thought but when I had the meeting they said it’s not normal. I suppose as part of the bigger picture it points more to neurodivergence than usual meltdowns.

I took lots of toys outside now that she’s not played with for a while. I was debating getting a water table but I just think what’s the point in spending £40 for abit of plastic. She’s got a large shell water thing I could easily fill with water for her to splash around .. she’s more interested in going to parks which I don’t mind.

She’s been doing horse riding since she was 2 -she’s more into it now and my dad bought a pony for her (spoilt)! A family member has a riding school so I get free lessons and stuff so it’s really handy. It wouldn’t be my choice of hobby for her if I had to pay though!
I did horse riding when I was younger and I bought my own at 21 my mum and dad would never buy me one. Yours is very lucky

mine has a water tray I got it off Facebook market place for free 🤣. He doesn’t really use it that much. He did when we first got it now he’s not interested much

Hello, reporting back after the duvet arrived yesterday. Also bought a Lion King duvet cover which seems to have helped seal the deal. Small Biscuit was so excited when he saw he had a duvet in his cot with Simba on it! Got some lovely snaps of him tucked up with a big smile on his face. He didn't nap today so I think that has helped with him going to sleep so quickly. It's the most settled bedtime we've had in a couple of weeks.

Of course I will be checked on him every 10 minutes tonight just in case he's pulled the duvet over his face 🤦
i think I got so much broken sleep the first few nights but they aren’t silly…. 🤣

Yawning doesn't necessarily mean you are tired. Its actually a reflex in the brain designed to wake you up and feel more alert. The motion stretches your lungs and allows for more oxygenation throughout your body
Hmm Yes, good point. Genuinely never thought of that! You just automatically link it with tiredness!!

I'm not sure I understand.
If she's only doing the 2 days for 10 hours, the 30 hours free should cover it? 🤔
I don't understand how you only save £35 a month?
This is what nursery said…

I don’t understand it at all and it’s completely baffling me.. she’s only eligible for 13.7 hours a week but you can only use a maximum of 10 of the hours a day 😩

She’s going two full days all year round x

I definitely think my daughter holds it in all day and then lets it all out when I pick her up. It is like us at work and when you get home you can cry/scream/shout whatever you need to do!! Always feel like my daughter has to decompress after a day in pre-school.
I totally understand that which is why I guess I hadn’t connected the dots that there was more to it. Does your daughter do it all evening until she goes to bed? Some days she’s fine and others it’s like her brain is on fire 😮💨

Look at the actual vitamins in multivitamin and the immune support. I think he gets those together every other day? Make sure they don’t exceed the RDA of any one vitamin and you’ll be grand. Just because things like vit A can be dangerous in high doses. Obviously some vitamins a bit more won’t hurt!
Yes. I did read the sides of the boxes but it’s gibberish to me tbh!!! It’s such a pathetically small dose according to the box, I doubt it will make much of a difference to him even having one lot! 🤣💕

Thank you. Am wondering should I be worried? Is it worth contacting my GP now to note my concerns? Is there anything I can do to help her now?

Having a nightmare with my 3 year olds behaviour at the minute. We can't leave the house without him causing a scene and we can't get back in without him running of and climbing on the garden walls. I dread having to go anywhere. He is a nightmare in public and picking my 5 year old up from school is a nightmare as he just runs of and goes on the mud . My 5 year old misses out because of the 3 year olds behaviour.
Have you tried those backpacks with the reigns in?

My 2 year old has started lying back and pretending to be a mermaid.
I've also devised an idea for washing her hair because before she HATED it.
She has her little jug and I tell her to catch the bubbles coming from her hair. She's obsessed with bubbles in the bath so it kinda works and distracts her!

Just lost it with my 3 year old and feel awful. It’s very rare I shout at her like I did but we’ve had 5 nights of broken sleep, she’s exhausted, not listening.

Put her in bed at 20 past, read a book, cuddles etc and then suddenly she needs a wee (fair enough), planned for her to be asleep for 7:30pm, 7:35pm.. then she said her bears need a wee, they all need a drink, she’s literally screaming they need a wee and I just lost it. She’s only just gone to sleep cos of pissing around and she’s gunna be up early yet again. I hate these weeks so bad when she just doesn’t listen and it just feels like a shit show! I am drained this week. I’ll miss her when she’s at her Dads but I’ve honestly had enough and can’t wait for a break 😫
40 minutes to get a child to sleep isn’t bad. Sounds like you might both need a break from each other?

Yes but if they are decayed that decay can also impact the adult teeth below them.
I know, I was joking! 😂x
---
my nephew was sick a lot when he was a baby and toddler and the vomit/acid mixed with the calpol made his teeth quite bad plus he was told by the dentist he had a problem with his enamel anyway that didn’t help, anyway he’s losing his baby teeth now and the dentist told my sister she has to be extra careful because baby teeth and how they are treated can carry on to adult teeth
a little girl in my daughters class wasn’t born with any enamel on her teeth and she’s got to go for 3 monthly check ups! She has to really limit sugary foods and ice cream etc until her adult teeth come through 😕

Does the school she’s starting have a nursery? I am changing 3yo come September so he will be in school nursery doing 30hrs. Same school his brother goes to. I’m really sad I made this decision though, because he loves it and the staff are so lovely!
No it doesn’t but we are hoping to buy a house by this time next year so she might not be going to the one near us anyway. I could keep her where she is and hope in sept when she changes room to the one with free flow to the garden and does two full days and one afternoon she might settle in better. The three afternoons we do now are so draining.

Thanks everyone. I know I said she seems clumsy but it is a bit more than that. She struggles with stairs when I see other kids her age straight up and down. I’ve never seen her run, she can do small jumps if she’s holding onto something but not on her own and she can’t hop and I know shouldn’t compare but I see so many kids her age do these things with ease. She can’t ride her scooter or her bike and I’ve taken her out plenty of times for practice.

I’ll take a look at the glue ear thing too. It’s something I struggled with as a child and had to have grommets but I don’t know if that means it’ll be an issue for her too.
I think you should always trust your instincts. It sounds like your instincts are she could have it so go with them!
