It's just one big aurora photo out there, isn't it?
I guess it’s distracted at least from pictures of people’s feet in sandals, clothes on washing lines, beer or wine glasses on picnic tables or thermometers/car dashboards showing over 20 degrees 🤣

Absolute messes being allowed to do drugs and be on live completely off their faces and idiots gifting and enabling it! Should have permanent bans. Or parents sitting with babies on live all day long every day! 😬

I'm currently sick of seeing anything to do with Baby Reindeer, it's absolutely everywhere.
Same, especially since people have been looking her up and stuff.. it seems unnecessary and surely just makes the situation worse.
People are rabid for things like this. When shows get big like this it makes me not want to watch it!

Cringe worthy hashtags!
The thought of someone sitting there thinking of and typing them makes me roll my eyes.
Someone I know posts like an influencer and she posted a picture of her with a cake she made. Nice picture and everything but then she posted the ‘outtakes’ with her laughing in the picture and the hashtag #couldntstopgiggling

“Fashion” Instagrammers that are tit and look tit doing the standard insta poses in their insta corner of their house. You click on their page and it’s literally a haul from the following daily:

H&M
Zara
ASOS
F&F
TU
Vinted

They’ve bought 6 jackets today and they’re “oooohing” at the camera. Tomorrow it will be how I go to the school run… it’s definitely going to be black legging, an oversized beige hoodie, socks and Uggs with a cross bag… thanks that’s revolutionary. Of course they’re not talking and telling us about the material or the fit or what body shape it’d suit because there’s some trending music playing that’s totally over dramatic and basically they’re just tit.

then they tootle off to the nearest impost locker and post the whole bleeping lot back. Run home to buy another £200 worth of stuff for the next days worth of tit.

theres some brilliant accounts who are really open and informative and then there’s just the tit ones.

They must return it all as no way certain influencers can afford all that and alot of it isn't gifted

I haven't seen it and I haven't read any articles about it, but I don't need to because the headlines are everywhere, several articles every day. It's excessive.

Baby Reindeer is the first thing my MIL has watched on Netflix, she thinks it’s absolutely groundbreaking. It’s been her personality trait for about 2 weeks, it’s all she talks about. We could be talking about cheese and she’d bring it back to Baby Reindeer. My partner was talking about one of his friends yesterday and his Mum goes ‘sounds like a bit of a Martha’ the story my partner told about his friend had duck all to do about stalking 🤣 Then we were talking and she randomly said, ‘sent from my iphone!’ out loud. Then later that night she text my partner saying ‘night! Sent from my iphone!’ We’re losing the will to live 🤣

She gets like this over things though, her obsession before this was Luke Littler and ‘how on earth is he only 16?!’ 😅
I posted this in the Baby Reindeer thread itself but it’s maddening the Martha comparisons to any woman overweight or unattractive, even if they have nothing to do with stalking. Some middle aged woman posted something on Facebook and the reply was “Okay Martha calm down” in the same vein as Karen. If it had been a man his appearance wouldn’t have been a personality trait…

What I don’t understand is the sudden rise in programmes that are basically trauma porn. Life can be awful enough without all these depressing, violent, graphic dramas.
Exactly, I googled the synopsis and thought why would I want to watch hours of this torment?!

People posting photos of a person (their child usually) with nothing else in the photo and the child's face is blurred out. What's the point?

“Didn’t take many pics as was too busy chatting”.
Sandra love that is absolutely fine. Don’t apologise. The 23 photos of the side of your mate’s head, your wine glass and your own face are actually too much anyway. You do you, enjoy it, live in the moment, and don’t feel bad if you don’t post photos of it because honestly, and I can’t say this enough, NO ONE cares that you went to your local pub for a couple of hours on a Saturday night. No one.

It's a bit of a derivation on the thread theme, but SM fuelled bad behavior. Yesterday, YT shuffled me a video about 'Sephora 10 year olds', aka pre-teens running amok in the skin care sections, making their parents buy them expensive products (that they don't need / is not recommended for young skin) and doing 30 step beauty routines after some latest TikTok trend has made them the one of the biggest target groups for beauty influencers.
I am happily childless and don't know if this is a thing this side of the Atlantic yet. If it isn't, brace yourself, it's coming.

Interesting q&a in the guardian the other week (which completely validated the regularity of how often and what products I used to wash my kid, who doesn't love an opportunity to be smug?) Which focuses more on babies than preteens but does mention that children and babies are a £££££ target for the skincare industry 🤢

Everyone jumping on the bandwagon about the Sat's being a massive pressure and withdrawing their kids. I do get some will have struggles anx stresses with it especially if they have special needs but each year there seems to be a rise in people saying their kids cant cope etc , sometimes I do think parents push that feeling onto their kids , i don't remember it being a big deal when I did them and the same for my eldest a couple of years ago, the school didn't seem to pressure them at all
