Ooh it's strange us being out of our usual Snooks thread!

I agree - the recent footage and snaps are just....odd. Having seen the fallout from cheating (within a marriage) at very close quarters, nobody involved looked that 'calm', not for months. I absolutely appreciate being somewhat in the public eye changes things, but even so. Ariel deserves an Oscar for that level of performance!

I know, and understand, so many people saying how can she stay, she deserves more (she does) and she needs to leave. But with two small children, in a marriage, their professional lives also so tied up in them as a couple (proof if ever it were needed *not* to use your marriage as a product)....its not easy. I'm not saying it isn't possible, but I would understand if she stayed. All my sympathies are with her and the kids, can't even imagine how Ariel must have felt when she found out.

Also, I really don't believe the guys knew. Nothing concrete. Becky and Ariel are incredibly close, and I don't believe for one second Becky would have tolerated that from Ned, or Keith knowing and not telling her. Maybe I am being too idealistic. I think they knew he was a wick, and acted like one, but until you have proof, what on earth can you say? Like, your husband is a gob - thanks, I know? Not easy.

@AvaKnight

totally agree, I would understand her reasoning to stay. Sometimes it’s more complicated to walk away than it is to stay and work through it. Although I’m sure there’s permanent damage done, if he’s genuinely sorry I do wish them the best, for the sake of the kids.

I've seen someone mention that Ariel comes from a wealthy family so in the worst case scenario she does have someone to fall back on. Though I'd think that they both invested their money to have a passive income 🤷‍♀️

I'm interested to see what Ned does next though I don't think he will be that affected as long as he doesn't try to land a 'main' sort of role

what could the other guys have done though before it became something that impacted the business. Knowing your business partner is a creep who is likely cheating on his wife is something you can ( and hopefully they did ) condemn on a friend basis but not something you could use as a reason to fire someone . It only becomes a workplace issue when Ned brought it to the workplace by being with Alex.
And getting caught
I agree with you on this. I have seen many comments of how people are disappointed that the other guys probably knew all along and still decided to work with him. What they fail to understand is despite us seeing the cheerful public image of them all being one big happy family, they are a business first. They have employees relying on them for jobs, they have mortgages to pay, family to take care of. At the very least, they likely knew about his flirty/sleazy tendencies and Ariel may have been aware too. That is not enough of a reason to cut ties with a co-founder and co-owner of the company. What made this whole situation implode was the fact that the person he had this affair with was his employee and it was exposed to the public. I fully believe the partners and Try Guys knew about this within the month of September and decided to deal with it all privately while they figured out the logistics and how to damage control. Then the affair was made aware to social media and they were forced to make a hard decision and a public announcement. I am wishing the best for Ariel and the kids and Will.

Hmmm, the fact that this person claims Alex's fiancee found out about the affair in December 2021, I can't believe Ariel only just found out about this.

Why wouldn't Will have told Ariel when he found out? There's no reason to keep his wife's infidelity with her husband a secret.
If anything, I'm not thinking it was an open marriage and everyone had agreed to it until they got spotted in public.
Now, the Try Guys are having to act and fire Ned based on the public reception rather than any legal matters,

I have a feeling it was an open secret, or even an open marriage
i think maybe they both knew from december via. will looking through alex's phone but thought it was a one off because they got caught, the assumption would be that they wouldn't have the audacity to carry it on ... but they did. i think ariel's ig statement doesn't convey much shock or surpise, so the finding out earlier this month or even last year makes a lot of sense.

Ned proper ducked it all up! The business, his relationship, his kids, the friendship dynamic between the guys and the wives, could cause legal trouble coz of it being with an employee! Honestly what a selfish wick.

Alex’s is guilty coz she full well knew about Ariel and the boys and still did it while also bleeping over her fiancé/relationship of 10+ years, and the power dynamic between her and Ned 🤯

What a b Ned is and Alex can’t be fired so working behind the camera for her

Anyone know when Alex got engaged? Hope that wasn’t during the affair

Is anyone else not fully convinced that the podcast episode won’t answer anything and just be a generic statement on how they’re dealing with things? Possibly something related to their opinions on workplace relationships at best?

The statement about the podcast doesn’t read to me like they’re dedicating a whole episode to it, just more as they need a short break to loosen up a bit after this so the podcast isn’t tense

I mean, ultimately, it’s an HR issue, so they likely couldn’t comment on it openly without putting themselves at some legal risk, so I wouldn’t expect much.

new video ...

eugene's rage is so clear oh my god. honestly think they've handled this really well, he was officially signed out of the company almost two weeks before things blew up. obviously they can't unfairly dismiss alex bc of the power dynamics but how often they mentioned the rest of the team in a five min vid shows they clearly care about their staff and their wellbeing. upcoming sponsorships that they're still contractually obliged to post though ... awkward 😬

I think it’s pretty telling that they are reminding people that the internet often judges women more harshly. They know the results of the HR investigation. Having seen that video, I’m of the opinion that although some/all of them knew Ned was a creep, none of them knew for certain of his relationship with Alex, or at least the extent of it . Eugene is clearly angry, Zach looks both angry and hurt , and Keith looks hurt and betrayed . Yes it may be put on , but tbh I don’t think any of them are that good actors .
I’m not saying that it wasn’t a consensual work place relationship ,just that they are acknowledging that they both knew the other one had a partner/family , but he was her boss, had a responsibility to maintain the public image of the company , and more importantly a responsibility to his friends not to jeopardise their joint incomes/achievements.

yikes, eugene looks absolutely raging. i always felt a slight disconnect between him and the other three tbh - not in a bad or dislike way, just that his vibe and career goals seem to be so different. i think they all come across well here though, and that they clearly care about their team like you say.

there’s definitely going to be a very awkward few weeks video wise though 😬

Eugene is very career focused and proud of his/their achievements and worrying about their public image will be important to him I think. And as Zach said they just filmed a tv show ffs and Ned was stupid enough to flaunt his affair in public. They have lost so much money out of this anyway plus potentially the tv show as well. They are all angry but Eugene is raging.

I do think E & Z are very emotional people outwardly though. Keith less so but you can tell all three are deeply betrayed and I doubt they are acting/lying. Surely they must be angry at Alex as well? I know the power imbalance however IMO she had full control and could have told any of the guys if Ned made advances and they would have put a stop to it. Unless something else has gone on we don't know. We do know it was a long affair not a lapse of judgement.

I would be so angry, lost a friendship and income. Personally I think they've handled this very well following legal processes before reacting and trying to keep it quiet for Ariel. If it didn't come out I genuinely don't think they would have told us publically what went on.

Although I believe fully it was a consensual relationship, I can’t help but feel a power imbalance was definitely a factor in the longevity of the affair. It defo put Alex in a situation where perhaps she felt she couldn’t stop lest it affect her career. The above comments about her reaching out to the other guys is a logical thing to do, but let’s be real, who does she think they would believe? Her or the guy they spent 8 years with? Not to mention the embarrassment.
I think it’s very telling that Eugene emphasised how the internet is harsher on women in these situations. There’s definitely a legal issue around it hence why they cautious around Alex and it’s probably the reason they are all still following her on insta, Ariel included.

Hmmm... I felt like there is an element of PR to the video beyond just the normal PR associated with the whole situation. I always got the slightly more progressive vibe from their brand, hence why I think they're trying to keep Alex looking as a more innocent party 🤷‍♀️ They're obviously not going to dismiss her but it feels very much like their support is at least partially behind her

I also think that they're very lucky that the story of Ned flirting with a random girl in the club sort of got swept under the rug. Of course they're never going to publicly admit their wrong doings (if they exist) and I get the sense that a lot of the fans don't want to see them in a bad light but the story has left a bad taste in my mouth

First time posting on this thread but have been enjoying reading everyone's opinions.

I saw a tiktok this morning saying that they wonder if this is a 'try guys try cancel culture' type set up - I can't really see that being the case myself as surely nobody would be willing to risk the reputation of their family/marriage just for a video?

I feel so sorry for Ariel and the kids and hope she is able to shelter them from the fallout.
