Really interesting says here Buzzfeed has a financial stake in 2nd try. I wonder who else does?
I feel like Buzzfeed probably has a financial stake because employees must have something in their contract like 'this has to be exclusive to us', so if you leave they essentially own the copyright to shows produced with them? (I could be wrong but I think an ex-employee mentioned something like this before, about how you don't really own your ideas there) Maybe the only way they could do it was if they agreed for Buzzfeed to have a stake. I'm guessing thats why none of the other ex-Buzzfeed staff continued their shows (especially when Kristin and Jen still work together/everyone from Ladylike also left).

a lot of stuff being posted by deuxmoi (which, as always, take with a pinch of salt) in this thread:

ariel cannot take him back, this level of absolute disrespect to her and their children :(

She was seen out and about with him yesterday, both still wearing wedding rings. Some people think Ned called the paparazzi, as if he’s actually that famous.

Hmmm, the fact that this person claims Alex's fiancee found out about the affair in December 2021, I can't believe Ariel only just found out about this.

Why wouldn't Will have told Ariel when he found out? There's no reason to keep his wife's infidelity with her husband a secret.
If anything, I'm not thinking it was an open marriage and everyone had agreed to it until they got spotted in public.
Now, the Try Guys are having to act and fire Ned based on the public reception rather than any legal matters,

I have a feeling it was an open secret, or even an open marriage

I can understand why he didn’t, as there are young children involved. Maybe he just wanted them to end it without breaking up each relationship

I found Ned a bit slimy and his attitude towards his wife (barely ever saying her name, always 'my wife' or 'Ned's wife, over the top simping etc.) kind of off putting. Seeing that he's made being a husband his entire online persona, it serves him right to lose this job and be shamed for it for humiliating Ariel online. crappy guy.

i keep thinking about that one video where ariel mentions being slightly worried about their age difference (as she’s older than ned) and not being fun enough etc - and now he’s cheated on her with a younger woman.

i always found him slimy too and his complete disregard for her is awful. i still can’t believe how openly he and alex were going to concerts, making out in clubs, at restaurants etc together.

I did always think it was weird that they were able to continue Try Guys on their own and even keep the name. This makes a lot of sense, Buzzfeed would never have just given them the copyright for free.

Definitely looks to me like they called someone in for PR 🤷🏼‍♀️

I def don't think it was open marriage. The lads wouldn't have unfollowed him for that.

My thoughts as someone who has kind of followed their YouTube channel on and off:
- Ned is a fool. If this "consensual relationship" has been going on for a year, he's a huge head. Not only has he broken his marriage, he ruined someone else's. Just head energy.
- Also, I don't understand why someone who is engaged, works closely with her partner, boss and boss's wife would think "oh my boss has asked me out I think ill say yes because that won't ruin everything" - she is more innocent, but still guilty
- I think it's really complex for Ariel, she should kick him out for a few weeks and work on her (if she hasn't already, given she's likely known for about a month). But also the kids, they probably don't want to reveal to their, what 3 and 1 year old, that their dad is trash so they have to continue to work closely together
- The Try Guys made the right choice staring there's no way for them to move forward. Maybe it took three weeks to organise a deal and get someone who actually does HR work involved in the process. Maybe they rushed the decision once it all came out on social media because they had to address it. Given they were already removing Ned from the videos, sounds like they were going down the path of "not anymore"

Overall, a HR and PR nightmare. This will not reflect well on anyone in the team, which is sad for the three that are left because they do some quite good work most of the time.

same! also, i know we don’t really know her as a person but ariel doesn’t in any way seem like she would go along with an open marriage imo.

Given how Ned's entire brand, and thus his family's livelihood and partners' business, rested on him being the loving father and (monogamous) husband, I imagine he and Ariel would have put some firm rules into place if they had had an open marriage, such as:

- Absolute discretion, never in public
- Not with an employee

It would have been far too risky otherwise.

I know Ariel can make her own choices but this "consensual relationship" would be damn hard for me to get past.
And she has good connections with the Try Wives and it might be more difficult to work with them if they disagree with how Ned has been behaving.

The latest paparazzi piks r really strange. They look like nothing is wrong. I know it could be a brave face act but I dunno it’s odd. Looks like this issue has been dealt with a while ago.

From reading the subreddit, it looks as if it all came out around the beginning of Sept. So I guess they've had a few weeks to get the initial arguments out of the way and most of the business stuff has already been worked out. Meaning while it's news for all of us they've had time to sit with it.

They're probably in the middle of some serious marital counselling at this point. I don't care what happens to him, but I hope she'll be ok in the long term.

P.S. The podcast (TryPod) has been delayed and looks like it will address what's gone on (next episode Oct 6th)

Ooh it's strange us being out of our usual Snooks thread!

I agree - the recent footage and snaps are just....odd. Having seen the fallout from cheating (within a marriage) at very close quarters, nobody involved looked that 'calm', not for months. I absolutely appreciate being somewhat in the public eye changes things, but even so. Ariel deserves an Oscar for that level of performance!

I know, and understand, so many people saying how can she stay, she deserves more (she does) and she needs to leave. But with two small children, in a marriage, their professional lives also so tied up in them as a couple (proof if ever it were needed *not* to use your marriage as a product)....its not easy. I'm not saying it isn't possible, but I would understand if she stayed. All my sympathies are with her and the kids, can't even imagine how Ariel must have felt when she found out.

Also, I really don't believe the guys knew. Nothing concrete. Becky and Ariel are incredibly close, and I don't believe for one second Becky would have tolerated that from Ned, or Keith knowing and not telling her. Maybe I am being too idealistic. I think they knew he was a wick, and acted like one, but until you have proof, what on earth can you say? Like, your husband is a gob - thanks, I know? Not easy.
